Hagel Declares, But Hillary Still Leads Dem Pack

by Scott Ott for ScrappleFace · 33 Comments

(2007-03-09) — Nebraska Republican Sen. Chuck Hagel will declare Monday that he’s running for president, but the latest polls show chances are slim that he could edge out Sen. Hillary Clinton in the primaries.

However, Sen. Hagel said it’s too early to speculate about which party’s nomination he may seek.

Now Hagel. Great. As if we needed another vanity candidate without a clue or a chance.

Hagel must think that the reason John McCain is going into meltdown mode is his age.

“You just keep thinkin’, Butch. That’s what you’re good at.”

    “I ain’t noways tired…” Hillary a few days ago.

With the plethora of people on both sides declaring for the office, I have yet to see anyone, Democritter or Republicat, whom I want to oversee and lead the country in the immediate future. Those who are not outright threatening are somewhat insipid. Our being in the middle of WW IV calls for leadership that is neither radically socialist or meekly submissive to the PC anti-American element that lurks in our society.

Assuming that the American people in general are not “eyes wide shut” and hence reject the radicalism of Hilly and Osama Bamalama, does this mean I have to settle for DOA non-entities like McCain or Giuliani?

It’s looking like my vote will be “wasted” on the Libertarian candidate, unless Fred Thompson or Newt Gingrich jump in at the appropriate moment. No one else is splitting any atoms for me.

Groovin’ with 1940s swing music and memories of ballroom dancing on Scorpion Hill…

Joe, my cat, has decided to enter the race.
Elliot (my step-daughter’s cat), who has agreed to be his campaign manager, was overtly optimistic when he said, “Meow. His chances are at least as good as some others already in the fray.”

With all these meltdowns I’m seeing within the Democrat party, it won’t be long before a flotation device will be required.

It’s like they’ve all gone mad-frothing at the mouth, wild gesticulations, incoherent babbling, bugged-out eyeballs…..

Is Chuck Hagel running as a Republican or a Dhimmiecrat?

  • 13 da Bunny // Mar 9, 2007 at 2:50 pm

However, Sen. Hagel said it’s too early to speculate about which party’s nomination he may seek.

May as well go for the Dhimmicrat nomination, Chuck, since you’ve got no chance at a Republican nomination, RINO-boy!

  • 14 Darthmeister // Mar 9, 2007 at 3:09 pm

There are media pundits out there who actually think given Senator Hagel’s “conservative credentials” he could become the Republican front runner … buwahahahahahahahahaha(snort)!

What outer planet are these people from? Sounds like Plan 9 From Outer Space.

You’re right, da bunny, he has a better chance in the Dhimmiecrat Party.

Great links everybody. I loved Plan 9.

Someone needs to send Hagel one of those postcards with the Earth pictured on it and write “wish you were here.”

“I don’t feel no ways tired.” Maybe Hillary don’t feel dat ol’ time Clinton Fatigue creepin’ in…

…but her pandering shriekfest is getting scarier and scarier. How strong are her supporters? Can they take this for another year? I almost have to respect those willing to be around her. I simply wouldn’t have the strength.

  • 24 Darthmeister // Mar 9, 2007 at 6:03 pm

Maybe Hagel can run as a Whig.

Actually the Whig Party comes pretty close to Hagel’s position, neither Democrat nor Republican but wants Congress to have ascendancy over the Presidency.

The Republicans are rapidly becoming the Mugwumps. Their mugs are on one side of the fence, and their wumps are on the other.

I’m going back to my philosophical roots, and voting Libertarian. We get bad-rapped for wanting to legalize morally questionable behaviors, but we are a lot more conservative than the RINOs and their socialist counterparts currently in the race.

    See ya!

  • 28 Darthmeister // Mar 9, 2007 at 8:42 pm

Possumtrot, show me a Libertarian that has a reasonable chance of winning against a DemDonk and I’ll vote for ‘em STAT! Until then you’re just throwing your vote away just like misguided “conservatives” did with Ross Perot. You’re not going to repeat that mistake again are you brother?

Standing on any “principle” which ultimately totally disenfranchises you and hands the battlefield over to the enemy without even a fight is not wise. Maybe the larger “principle” is fighting the greater evil with what ever tool is available to you. We can’t afford to be a one or two issue voter, we’re smarter than that. Be as wise as serpents and innocent as doves.

I understand how you feel, I really do. My conservative credentials are just as valid as anyone else’s here, including yours. You know the refrain about fighting fire with fire, right? Just because you can’t used 100 Octane fuel and you find yourself stuck with 87 Octane fuel to start a backfire/backburn, it would be extremely foolish not to use the lower octane fuel to at least have a fighting chance of putting out the the encroaching wildfire. A lot of homes could be destroyed and people could get killed because of your unwillingness to use the lesser quality fuel to start the backfire.

A lot can happen between now and November 2008. The nomination process always has interesting twists and turns. Don’t prematurely paint yourself into a corner.

After Missus Bill Clinton and the “Clinton Machine” finishes grinding Mr. Barak Hussein Obama into history, She (Missus Bill Clinton) will no doubt head up the Democrat ticket.

Since Conservatives always win against liberals (see mid-term elections 2006) the only Real Conservative on the horizon is Mr. Duncan Hunter and I can only pray that God, in his judgement will show mercy and bring Mr. Hunter to the forefront in this election. God will place His choice in the Presidency. I pray that Mr. Duncan Hunter will be His choice! - Without wax

Amen, camojack, jackals and wolves in sheep’s clothing.

Here’s something very provocative from SISU blog:

A bellwether is any entity in a given arena that serves to create or influence trends or to presage future happenings. The term is derived from the Middle English “bellewether” and refers to the practice of placing a bell around the neck of a castrated ram (a wether) in order that this animal might lead its flock of sheep,” according to Wikipedia. Egad. Castrated rams leading flocks of sheep. Could there be a more perfect metaphor for the MSM shaping the “opinions” of the clueless among us?

We love Cardinal Park, who co-blogs at TigerHawk. His words speak for themselves and make our heart sing:

I have held rather tenaciously to the view that the war in Iraq was 1) well chosen; 2) noble; 3) well fought and 4) won.

That has elicited some wonderfully amusing and sometimes nasty criticism, primarily from the left. I happen to believe — completely smugly and to the utter annoyance of my critics — that they will eventually come around. I draw the historical parallel to the Reagan administration’s diplomatic approach to the Soviet Union and its abandonment of the language of detente, which was detested by and critiqued aggressively by the left and which today is almost universally acknowledged by left and right as responsible for the collapse of the USSR . . .

Eventually, the left must come to embrace what we are doing and achieving in the Middle East. Defeating tyranny and genocide is the raison d’etre of liberalism, is it not?

So, what is the citizenry’s cotton-candy “opinion” made of other than the relentless anti-American, anti-Bush, anti-war gloom-and-doom spoutings of the navel-gazing media itself? Where else do Americans get their “news”? Fortunately, some of us get our news and sometimes report our news via the Internet, but it seems the majority of the mushy middle are still answering the call of the bellwethers [castrated rams] of the MSM.

So I hereby propose all media-tool trolls should be referred to as bellwethers in the future.
