(2007-10-04) — Sen. Hillary Clinton today filed papers with the Federal Election Commission to form an exploratory committee aimed at determining if she should publicly declare herself “the presumptive Democrat nominee” for president.
The filing comes after a new Washington Post/ABC News poll showed her up 33-points over her nearest Democrat rival.
In a statement released to reporters, Sen. Clinton said: “After talking with my husband and considering the impact on my family, and on my job as a U.S. Senator, I’m taking this next step toward making the Democrat nomination a fait accompli.”
Running as presumptive nominee holds benefits as well as risks, Mrs. Clinton said.
“It would officially anoint me with unstoppable juggernaut momentum,” she said. “At the same time, it takes some of the drama out of the race and virtually closes the door to running as an underdog, or to taking advantage of voters’ sympathy toward women.”
In related news, Democrat rival Sen. Barack Obama today said he may seek the Republican presidential nomination so that he can be in “a legitimate competition where the outcome was not stamped in stone 15 years ago.”

Good stuff Scott
You folks might get your wish, she might actually get nominated which should, if there is a God, guarantee a Republican victory

B. Hussein Obama isn’t far from some of the current or recent crop of GOP hopefuls. But that’s not an endorsement of Obama.

“Presumptive” relates to how I think of the Clinton/Soros/Socialist machine whenever I hear them put words in the mouth of “the ‘majority’ of Americans.” They make me nauseous.
Presumptuousness is a liability as a character trait, in my opinion-it’s annoying and can only produce a negative outcome. Combine that with a mocking, psychopathic cackle and…..well…..
The current epoch of Политика в США (Politics in the USA) makes me think of that venerable mainstay of mainstream thought, Mad Magazine, for some reason.

I think we need to take a good look at a candidate like Mike Huckabee. He is a true conservative and a man of faith. He has a great sense of humor which has shown forth if the debates. He can stand toe-to-toe with Hillary on the issues and garner support if enough true conservatives will listen to him. I invite you to learn about his positions at the following site and see if you agree.

Jesus answered him, “It is also written: ‘Do not put the Lord your God to the test.’”
(Matthew 4:7 - New International Version)
But I hope you’re right.

Just Ranting - Mike and Duncan have been my choice from the start the two of then runnung together and winning would require direct itravention from God with a miracle but then, that’s what prayer is for - right?
And in addition I would like to add -
despicable contemptible, loathsome, hateful, detestable, reprehensible, abhorrent, abominable, awful, heinous; odious, vile, low, mean, abject, shameful, ignominious, shabby, ignoble, disreputable, discreditable, unworthy, dirty, rotten, lowdown, lousy; beastly;
Granted: That I do live in primarily conservative WEST Michigan but even though I’m retired, I get about quite a bit and meet a lot of people. To date I believe I’ve heard every one of the above adjectives used to describe Mrs. Bill Clinton and especially from different women.
She could not run successfully for the office of Deputy Assistant Dogcatcher for WEST Michigan. I would like it if Michigan was like Texas and we could break away, forming “The Great, Grand State of West Michigan” ala “West Virginia” that way we could have a Republica Governor and two Republican Senators representing us. I’D VOTE FOR IT!

boberin: “ … she might actually get nominated … ”
Right! And the sun might continue to rise in the East.
Can you name any other Democrat who can realistically hope to win the nomination at this point? I can’t!

Like I’ve said before, Thompson/Obama 2008.
Ex-Justice Official Says Spy Program Shrouded in Secrecy
What a moron! Of course a “spy program” would be shrouded in secrecy! Sheesh. I still remember an America that had any number of secrets to keep us safe and secure from stinking Nazis and Commies. So I wonder if Americans will eventually be protected by their constitutional republic from the closet Commies in the Demoncrap Party given how the lamestream media pointedly ignores this reality every day?

The Clinton dirty tricks brigade works just as hard against rival Democrats as they do Republicans. I knew it was only a matter of time before the Clinton’s start digging up some dirt on Obama … and he does have some dirt and worked the back channels.
Also, it’s a miracle none of sHrillary’s rivals have mysteriously died yet.

Hillary Clinton followed up her “presumptive Democrat nominee” filing by filing Hillary Rodham Clinton as a Democrat presidential candidate.
She then issued a statement saying “The people need a choice, and I provide that choice. And the other choice too. And the VP candidate. And my significant other.”
She then sort of cackled, in a Rovian mind control sort of way.

it takes some of the drama out of the race and virtually closes the door to running as an underdog, or to taking advantage of voters’ sympathy toward women.
It also takes away any incentive to make donations to somebody who’s got it locked up… although Al Gore’s “lockbox” didn’t help him too much.

Didn’t there used to be an old saying about Not counting your chickens…..? I think ,right now ,all Hillary has is a bunch of eggs, not very fresh eggs either.
