(2003-05-14) — Zacarias Moussaoui was released from jail this morning after confessing that he didn’t have time to be involved in the September 11, 2001 terror attack because he was working on another al Qaeda-planned attack in another country.
U.S. District Judge Leonie Brinkema apologized to the former defendant for the “all of the inconvenience you’ve endured.”
“As long as Mr. Moussaoui wasn’t trying to kill Americans on American soil, it’s none of our business,” said the judge. “We wish him all the best.”
