(2003-04-23) — A day after Colin Powell indicated that France would face consequences for its opposition to the war in Iraq, the State Department has begun to develop a list of ways the U.S. might punish France.
An unnamed source in the Department called it a “working document” which includes the following potential actions:
- Create government program to send more American tourists to France.
- Increase funding to U.S. domestic snail industry.
- In public forums, U.S. government officials will follow the mention of French Foreign Minister Dominique de Villepin with the phrase “who is a man”.
- Each day, George Bush calls Jacques Chirac at midnight Paris time and says, “Do you have Prince Matchabelli in a bottle?.”
- Two words: Cheez Whiz.
