Ahmadinejad: Iran Enriched 20% Pure Uranium, Opium

by Scott Ott for ScrappleFace · 143 Comments · · Print This Story Print This Story

(2010-02-11) — President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad marked the 31st anniversary of the Islamic revolution in Iran by announcing today that Iranian government scientists had succeeded in enriching to 20 percent purity both uranium and opium.

“Our centrifuges have been humming, hum, hum, hum, hummmmm,” said Mr. Ahmadinejad, smiling broadly before a crowd of hundreds of thousands of loyalists, who cheered despite being ringed by armed Revolutionary Guard soldiers compelling them to cheer. “The Islamic Republic of Iran is now a nuclear state, and a super-duclear state — a mega-huplear, kafuplear, snuplear state.”

Gazing off into the distant future, the president assured his people and the global community that Iran has no intention of building a bomb with enriched uranium, nor of using the enriched opium for anything other than peaceful purposes.

From Mr. Ahmadinejad’s high perch behind the podium, he told the crowd that they appeared to surge and sway before him “like a Van Gogh painting colliding with an Escher print on the set of Avatar to the tune of Terrapin Station…are you knowing what meaning I am saying?”

Meanwhile, a spokesman for the United Nations’ International Atomic Energy Agency said it he had carefully monitored the centrifuges at Natanz, from a “night spot” in Tehran, just a couple of hundred miles away.

“I was as shocked as anyone,” said the unnamed IAEA official. “Since sanctions have not restrained Iran from its nuclear ambitions, I’m dispatching a cable to New York presently recommending more sanctions.”

As long as they are enriching the opium along with the nucular material they'll be too mellow to make a bomb as evidenced in paragraph 4 above. No worries, it's all good/mellow!

  • 2 ChileSerrano // Feb 11, 2010 at 2:56 pm

"Iran has no intention of building a bomb with enriched uranium, nor of using the enriched opium for anything other than peaceful purposes."

Ain't that the truth, Mon! After you be using that enriched opium, you be peaceful, alright … sit completely immoble for hours watching paint dry peaceful!

    No worries …

  • 3 EdistoJoe // Feb 11, 2010 at 5:21 pm

“Our centrifuges have been humming, hum, hum, hum, hummmmm,”
That's pretty close to: "President Obama…Mmm…Mmm…Mmm…Mmmmm!"
They must be e-mailing one another.

  • 4 boberin // Feb 11, 2010 at 3:23 pm

Probably why the crowd was cheering too. Who needs the guards?

Are you suggesting that there is something fishy about the A-jad hoopla?

As much as I despise Ahmadinejad, he reminds me4 a LOT of that Hollywood actor of the 1930's,—-Oh what is is name——-Oh I remember ,—Cheeta.

Michelle Obama is on a mission to tell us "fatties" to lose weight or else. This will fit right in, (imagine that, what a coincidence), with the new taxes the government wants on snacks, sodas, etc., AND why we need "ObamaCare". They must believe we are to stupid to see this?

Maybe Michelle should lay off the Waygu steak and lose some of that big butt of her's BEFORE she starts preaching to us?

That invitation is pretty telling about his "bipartisanship". 12 Dems and 9 Repubs plus, the 12 Dems does NOT include Obama, Biden, Sebelius, Rahm, and anyone else Obama decvides to bring along.

So the Repubs will be outnumbered by at least 2 to 1.

    So much for "bipartisanship".

  • 27 JamesonLewis3rd // Feb 13, 2010 at 12:45 am

The Meeting is going to be an extraordinary opportunity for the Progressive (Democrat) party to demonstrate its irresponsible, elitist arrogance and disdain for the citizens of the USA.

I hope the Republicans will display an unshakable adherence to The Constitution and Conservative Principles—and the morality inherent therein. If it's a metaphorical chess match for the fate of our country the Progressives want, I say bring it on; The United States of America will prevail, the madness will stop.

  • 28 RAM1 // Feb 13, 2010 at 1:02 am

I would agree TOTALLY with your thought in your first paragraph IF this were to be televised and not done in secret, as has been, (and will continue to be), the "rule of thumb" of the Obama administration!

I do agree with you, it is just that they continue to hide and do these arrogant things in secret, and MOST of the media still provides cover for them.

These are the same hypocrites that said Bush had the most secretive admin in history. So much for "transparency".

This is the closest our Nation has been to resolving this issue in the nearly 100 years that it has been debated.

The Blair House meeting is the next step in this process. The session will begin at 10:00 a.m. and be broadcast live in its entirety.

The first sentence of this excerpt makes me want to say, "When we're talking light years, that's not much closer," but I think I'll bite my tongue.

This February 25 Real-Time Reality Show Meeting is deserving of the Classic Spider and the Fly Scenario Award. I will be on the edge of my seat—Who will be the unsuspecting Fly?

  • 36 JamesonLewis3rd // Feb 13, 2010 at 8:47 pm

I think The Meeting is scheduled to be a three hour event.
It is going to be all about who can pull the biggest rabbit out of their hats with the most flair without looking like a Bullwinkle in the headlights.
Or, maybe, like an ephemeral cage fight between ideologies. Or even a Stare Down.
It could become a riot, a huge brawl. Someone might even use a dirty word.
The Meeting has been nominated, in advance, for The Event of the Century and here is an exclusive, leaked excerpt:
Progressives: It's our way or the highway.
    Conservatives: No way.

“There came to him (the Holy Prophet) a woman from Ghamid and said: Allah's Messenger, I have committed adultery, so purify me. He (the Holy Prophet) turned her away. On the following day she said: Allah's Messenger, Why do you turn me away? … By Allah, I have become pregnant. He said: Well, if you insist upon it, then go away until you give birth to (the child). When she was delivered she came with the child (wrapped) in a rag and said: Here is the child whom I have given birth to. He said: Go away and suckle him until you wean him. When she had weaned him, she came to him (the Holy Prophet) with the child who was holding a piece of bread in his hand. She said: Allah's Apostle, here is he as I have weaned him and he eats food. He (the Holy Prophet) entrusted the child to one of the Muslims and then pronounced punishment. And she was put in a ditch up to her chest and he commanded people and they stoned her. … Then giving command regarding her, he prayed over her and she was buried.”

OK, this is NOT very Christian of me BUT, I would like to see this meeting replaced with a "Pride Fighting Event" that has Mike Pence matched against Barney Frank with NO referee to stop Pence's beat-down of Barney and get to hear him scream liken a frightened little school girl!

The victor would then get to decide if the bill passes or dies a quick death.

  • 43 RAM1 // Feb 14, 2010 at 12:00 am

I just hope and pray Hillary does not attend the meeting with yet another "story" about her "close friend" Mother Teresa. This time, I envision she would tell us how "MOM", (as Hillary was allowed to call her), asked her to "Just win ObamaCare for the Mom-ster", when on her deathbed!

While thinking once again, about how the "lefties" want us to be "tolerant" of EVERYBODY, and KNOWING most of them are NOT tolerant of believers of JESUS CHRIST, and say (ALL THE TIME) things like, "Stop shoving your religion down my throat!", it occurred to me that I have NEVER heard them say that even one time to a Muslim or Palestinian, probably because what would be "shoved" would be their neck in front of a sword!

  • 48 RAM1 // Feb 14, 2010 at 5:04 pm

I do feel I owe Gomer an apology though. While "Gomer" may have been a simpleton, at least he had a good heart! One thing is for sure, that D.I. doesn't have to fear Obama as he did the fate dealt him by "Gomer Pyle" in that very good movie, (although I wouldn't watch it now because of the curse words), because Obama doesn't want ANYONE to have a weapon!

Well, other than the people out there to protect him and his family.

Maybe if "O" gets real mad at him he will "lie" him to death?

OT question for our Indiana commenter: Who is the stronger (better) candidate to replace Bayh: Coats or Hostettler? Should we wait to see how the primaries sort out the two before offering monetary support?

  • 59 onlineanalyst // Feb 15, 2010 at 9:34 pm

Michele Bachman needs every bit of our support in whatever way we can give it. Pelosi has Bachman in her sights and will deliver every bit of DNC funding and trash talk to destroy Bachman.

  • 60 RAM1 // Feb 15, 2010 at 10:11 pm

I think I have a real simple solution to the likes of Pelosi and her "rhetoric". The next time she attacks Michele, she should say, "I don't know about you but, JESUS died for ALL my sins, past present, and future so, "Get thee behind me SATAN!", whether Pelosi's attack is true or NOT!!!

What do you want to bet that that demon that resides in Pelosi's black heart will be cut to the quick?

  • 61 RAM1 // Feb 15, 2010 at 10:27 pm

I just wrote him a :good riddance: email! Problem is, he was finished, (I believe), and my though is Obama and cronies want is a replacement that has a chance and the time to get "us hicks" used to "the new Moderate", (yeah right).

Next on the agenda, in four years send RINO Lugar packing. IF he lives that long!

PS: I already heard them speculate a run for PREZ—-I don't think so, he ALREADY tried that, was one of the first kicked to the curb, and then showed his "lap dog" side, first with Hillary, (because he guessed wrong about the eventual winner), then MaoBama trying to get that "Number 2" spot which didn't work either. Read my reply to Chili above. We better wait until we see who the Dems have in mind for his replacement first. Even with the cheer leading the Indianapolis Star http://www.indystar.com has afforded Bayh up until now, he has seen the "handwriting" or at least the Dems saw it and told him to, "Get under that bus and do it now!"

The Star is pounding Coats as a "carpetbagger" and it may stick. I don't care, I want the best candidate and if the Repubs are smart they will play this like a game of chess!

The thing is when Bayh returned to Indiana in 1988 for his run for Governor, it was then the GOP cited he was a "Hoosier" in name only (carpetbagger), having lived MOST of his life in D.C. as the son of a certain sitting Senator Birch Bayh IN (D)!!! Talk about coming full circle!

Kinda' reminds you of the hypocrisy of the Obama admin, doesn't it? lol

  • 64 RAM1 // Feb 15, 2010 at 10:41 pm

PS: The BEST candidate would have been Mike Pence, but then we would have lost a rising star and potential powerful member in the House.

OK, here is a comment JL3, and my opinion about what MAY going on with Toyota.

It hit me that with what started out as a legitimate recall problem, the Obama administration MAY BE turning into a "crisis" to take advantage of, as not to "waste it". All, of a sudden, there are now other problems, and a hundred or more complaints about "pulling" to the right side, and now they want Congressional hearings.

My thought is, since Obama couldn't get his hands on Toyota when he did GM, and Chrysler, he will now "get them" or try to destroy them. Just a thought because, I don't put much past him OR his thug cronies!

I wonder if the "100 complaints" about the steering problems came from "friends of Obama"?

People don't see new comments and think no one is reading them either, so no use in posting.

I am not sure what is wrong other than it is just the Internet, I am still using the RAM1 log-in that I had to create when my old RAM log-in locked me out.

  • 81 boberin // Feb 18, 2010 at 4:52 pm

I guess it keeps things interesting. You're correct, it does tend to act/look different almost every time. Today I need to scroll about 1/2 way down the page to get to the story…either on the home page or once at this one.
At least we're certain that whomever does navigate the maze really wanted to be here. you wouldn't stumble by and jump through hoops…you need to be an addict already…like you and I

  • 82 RAM1 // Feb 18, 2010 at 4:59 pm

    AMEN to that!

One other thought about "problems" on Intense Debate. It could be with our own PC's sometimes. I have "PC Pitstop Optimize" that I run almost everyday to clean junk out, and also use my "RegCure" registry cure, and then the disc cleanup in system tools.

Even one 4 or 5 hour session "surfing the web", my PC gets gummed up and slows down, so it could be that.

Chile:One of the FEW things Barack Hussein Obama has said that I agree with is, that words DO IN FACT mean something!

Here are some that we ALL should adhere to, ESPECIALLY MYSELF and OBAMA !!!

1 Corinthians 13:3 (King James Version)

And though I bestow all my goods to feed the poor, and though I give my body to be burned, and have not charity (LOVE), it profiteth me nothing.

One thought I meant to add, that I left out was ALL POLITICIANS, —no wait—, ALL of US, need to learn that when we "say words" we are giving OUR WORD and GOD expects us to HONOR them!!!

Speaking "words" is powerful if we realize that GOD "spoke" the Heavens, Earth, and ALL mankind into existence!!!

Yes or no, are you for or against Political Litmus Tests?

  • 102 RAM1 // Feb 22, 2010 at 8:07 pm

    Happy birthday JL3!!!

I wonder if Scott forgot to leave a request for a "wake up" call at the front desk?

On another subject, regarding the LIAR Evan Bayh, IF he is tired of the gridlock and tired orf public life then WHY is he making ALL the rounds of news shows, where he even stated he wouldn't rule out a run for public office in the future? OK, I'll give my opinion. He saw that he was going to lose an election for the first time, so now he will continue LYING that he is a "moderate" Democrat, and try to repair his image so he can try a run for President or another stint as governor of Indiana because Mitch Daniels cannot run again after this, (his second) term.

Bayh stated Sunday he was sick of the partisan gridlock in Congress now, although he had no problem being a BIG part of it prior to 2006 when he and his party were doing the same or worse! Gee, I wonder wh6 he didn't quit then, and will ANYONE call him a "quitter" as they have Sarah Palin? lol

Then he was supposed to be on "The View" today, where I am sure the "ladies", (I use that term VERY, VERY, loosely!!!), fawned all over him! Like watching Obama, I cannot stand to even watch these women!

There is almost no difference in the two party's and it is a shame that Dick Lugar does NOT come up for reelection this year. He needs to go as bad or worse than Bayh!!!

PS: If anyone has not seen Hawkeye's YouTube on Obama, it is EXCELLENT!!! So good in fact, he is getting the typical potty mouth comments and hate from the left that they SAY the right does to people with their "intolerance". http://www.youtube.com/user/jjprzy2#p/a/u/0/hdwgs...

Transparency was promised and is being delivered DAILY! You can see right through these people.

I responded back to one defender of Obama with, "If you really want "Change" try JESUS! HE will give you the change that your current god promised but could not deliver!"

No response yet, but am sure it will involve curse words! lol

    The Summit of Folly.

Well, so much for the pivot to jobs. Late last week, the Obama administration and congressional Democrats made clear that, rather than turn to voters’ economic concerns in this winter of discontent, they want to persist in pushing the health care proposals they have championed for a year—proposals voters have rejected by every means at their disposal, from expressing (a still growing) opposition in polls, to scolding members of Congress in town hall meetings, to handing Ted Kennedy’s Senate seat to a Republican.

On another subject, the Dems are talking CONSTANTLY about "eliminating duplication of government services", as does my Indianapolis District #7 Representative. (yeah representative—right), in the House, Andre Carson. He even sent out a flier with an attached postcard to send back, (with our own stamp).

The REAL funny thing is I have some of his responses from the short time he has been in, abd one is a response to my concern over energy. He felt so strongly against what I wanted him to do, he sent 5 IDENTICAL responses!!!

Gee, doesn't that sound like duplications of government services and a WASTE of tax dollars?

    Ram,
I do love "The World" or the "land of the big PX" ie…"The USA". The Laser has 1/2 the power and has cost twice as much as originally projected. Welcome to governmental reality. But the fact that this prototype actually works is fascinatimazing. It opens huge new doors for the future at a time when the ground based has Y x the power and can shoot down everything from ICBMs to mortar shells. Airborne though, Cool that is & how. It really is hard to affix all the hardware required to an aluminum tube travelling at 40,000 feet above the earth. I have nothing to do with the develepmont of the LASER system. I am a RADAR guy. I just tell it where it needs to aim. Track it when it does and watch the crazy space debris aftermath. The government threw immensely expensive Engineering skill dollars at solving the convexity/concavity of atmospheric light distortion. I hope they do not give that away for free -a la Clinton.

I am a Christian BUT, have a LOT of faults, (NO! Say it ain't so RAM-lol), and while I thought I had tried everything to get closer to GOD, about three weeks ago, I FINALLY gave in to the LORD and started doing one day fast's.

WOW, it may be because I had made eating a "false god" for YEARS but, what a breakthrough!!! I am closer to GOD than I have ever been, (plus, am losing weight even though my Doc has increased my Prednisone, (steroids), that makes you want to eat more), and am seeing, (and feeling), HIM move in my life like NEVER before!

While I could go on for hours about ALL the things I am now being blessed with, I will not take up Scott's site with all of it, but I have been motivated to clean my house from my electric power-chair, (which was been a mess because of years of neglect), and found my "graduation book" from BCT at Fort Knox in 1972. I didn't even remember that I had it!

Yesterday's "Obamacare Summit" was a cruel joke on the American people thanks to "Obama the Bi-Partisan" ! Obama a peacemaker? Do NOT make me laugh! All you had to do was listen how he curtly responded to Lamar Alexander, (a gentleman), or yet another "rub in" about, "I WON" toward John McCain, (and I do not love, or even really LIKE McCain very well BUT shouldn't Obama at least respect the man/Veteran?!).

    http://www.cbn.com/cbnnews/politics/2010/February...

Obama opened with this, (as "moderator"—step aside Keith Olbermann and Chris Matthews),—-"I hope that this isn't just political theater where we're just playing to the cameras and are actually trying to solve the problem,"! KNOWING that most times when folks are GUILTY of what they accuse you of, and being backed up by Obama's already proven past practices, this "bipartisan summit" was doomed from this point on! Funny that, this comment was EXACTLY an example of "playing to the camera;s" AND "political theater"!!! Plus with Obama's egotistical comments to John McCain and Lamar Alexander, he once again PROVED he is NOT one willing to work with "the other side" as he has, (and continues to say), MANY times to date!

The story goes on with: Several lawmakers came with horror stories of people who have had problems with their health care.

"A woman I know well called me up and said, "Steny, I have just been diagnosed with a tumor," Rep. Steny Hoyer, D-Md., said.

I wonder why the Republicans are not smart enough to counter with their OWN horror story from someone who has had "problems" with something that the GOVERNMENT has taken over and messed the TAX PAYER over on, and then could not do anything about because "you cannot fight city hall"???

Maybe because MOST of them are as big of crooks as the Dems? Or maybe they are just not living for GOD or their fellow man, and GOD has "confounded them" also?

Imagine, if you will, that you are living in a changed America, or in President Obama’s words, an America that begged “re-making.” In this now-changed America, hope is in big government and her closest ally, big science.

Now imagine that you and your spouse give birth to a child in this brave, new America, in a hospital linked by law to the federal citizens database. Immediately upon your child’s birth, a hospital clerk assigns your newborn with a “Unique Health Identifier” (UHI), a specially coded number, which is then put into a national electronic database, along with your newborn’s fingerprints and any other identifiers the bureaucrats in D.C. have demanded.

Sex. Weight. Length. Race. APGAR score. Health appraisal at birth, including any disfigurements or handicaps, identifying traits or birthmarks, and DNA markers. Information about the child’s parents, such as names, age, race, number of prior pregnancies, number of prior births, number of prior abortions, education attained, occupations, finger prints and criminal records, if any, are also stored. Almost anything can be included in the database for future government needs, whatever those might be…

This sounds a lot like the "Star Wars" program Reagan wanted to implement and as I recall the defensive system was to be based in space…program was canceled…Berlin Wall came down…history. I wonder if your prototype is from some of the same technology as from back then? At any rate, I hope we don't give it away either but with all the debt we owe to China sooner or later favors will be asked of us and I believe Obama would be more than open to "spread the techno wealth."

  • 137 SGT_USMC_1ea // Mar 1, 2010 at 5:02 am

Well yes EJ it is exactly the "Star Wars" program that Reagan did indeed implement. You are seeing the fruition of it now. It has also been referred to as the Strategic Defense Initiative (SDI). We languished a bit during the Clinton years but overall it has been going full throttle. Everybody, even Obama, can see that it would be a good thing to shoot down a nuke before it kills a few million people. I cannot give details but trust me when I say that the space based option is not far off.

Could GOD's voice be any clearer?

    Mark 13:8 (King James Version)

8For nation shall rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom: and there shall be earthquakes in divers places, and there shall be famines and troubles: these are the beginnings of sorrows.

Do we not see how "man" reacts now to these sorrows with the looting in Chile and before that Haiti? These people are not just taking food, (which is still wrong,-GOD says HE will provide ALL our needs, AND to not take things that do not belong to us!), but TVs, robbing ATM's, etc, We saw the same in New Orleans, so just wait until we have an earthquake here and give Obama a "crisis" not to be "wasted". I believe it will open the door to taking our guns, arrests, and imprisonment!

Bush was Prez during Katrina and we saw then New Orleans doing some of the things I just said!

What do think Obama will do?
