Reid Adds ‘Skin Lightening Therapy’ to Health Reform Bill

by Scott Ott for ScrappleFace · 28 Comments · · Print This Story Print This Story

Sen. Harry Reid, in an effort to increase the popularity of the imperiled health care reform bill, on Monday added a provision requiring insurance companies to pay 100 percent of the cost of treatments intended to lighten the skin of African-Americans.

The news came a day after the revelation that in 2008 Reid had said Sen. Barack Obama’s presidential chances were good thanks to his relatively pale pigment and lack of “Negro dialect, unless he wanted to have one.”

    Hmmm. Shades of Michael Jackson?

    (:D)

Side-by-side photos of "Pinky" Reid at Drudge seem to indicate that the senator from Searchlight is himslef "free at last" of those darn age spots.

Mighty Dem of Reid to overlook content of character when assessing fellow pols.

A Michael Jackson tribute perhaps? Very nice!

"I mean, you got the first mainstream African-American who is articulate and bright and clean and a nice-looking guy," Biden said. "I mean, that's a storybook, man."

I think this is worth repeating from previous thread: Some of you may have heard of the just-launched web site The Daily Caller. Well, guess what? Scott Ott has heard of it. Awesome.

How did you do that? There were no posts when I showed up and posted my oh so witty MJ comment…then I post and yours beat me by a while…

    Great minds…whatever!

    Yes. Skin treatments!

And hair treatments. We absolutely must insure hair treatments.

Hair straightening. And maybe even hair styling. And don't forget hair plugs

Uh oh, my reply is being cleared (or not) but the post police…we shall see…

I don't know Bob. Similar things have happened to me in the past. I post something and nobody else has anything posted. All of a sudden, my post goes down about 3 or 4 notches and other people's stuff shows up. It's weird I tells ya!

    (:D) Best regards…

I guess my comment has been deemed to controversial for mass consumption.

    Sigh!

The "architects" of ObamaScare have ad hoc protection of fingerprint removal coverage bulit into the legislation, so that weary but irate taxpayers have no one to blame…unless it is ObaMao's favorite scapegoat, GWBush.

I know that Harry Reid didn’t mean this as a comment with racial overtones. Last year, he said the exact same thing about Arnold Schwarzennegger. Year before last, he said the same thing about me!

As a Caucasian from Georgia-where the Caucasus mountains begin-I have to thank you for pointing out the hypocrisy of Those People who have stereotyped and condemned us for the accident of our births since we lost the War of Northern Aggression.

I haven’t heard anyone say “knee-grow” since I was 15, and that was a long time ago.

Off topic but, here is yet another one of "Christian Obama's" friends telling everyone what a homophobe that the GREAT GOD of the Bible is! I wonder what Muslim's must think of this "friend" of Obama?

You just have to love this man…God surely does…

WASHINGTON: US evangelical preacher Pat Robertson has laid the blame for the devastating earthquake on the Haitians themselves, saying the country "swore a pact to the devil" to escape French rule in the 18th century.

Well, it all makes sense now why the Dems are not afraid of losing their jobs by peeving off dissatisfied voters from both parties, they are going to "stack the deck" with the voter registrations!

    http://www.wnd.com/index.php?fa=PAGE.view&pag...

PS: I see the thumbs down votes Bob so before you falsely accuse me AGAIN, NO, I was not one of the down votes.

I will say in response to your post about Pat Roberson, I am SURE God does not love, like, or even tolerate the rampant voodooism that permeates the Country of Haiti, and NO God does NOT usually cause these things to happen, rather takes HIS mighty hand of protection from them, as HE is likely to do soon with America if they do NOT ask HIM back in their lives!!!

I will ALSO say, it seems a little more than a coincidence that two great disasters in a relatively short period have involved areas that worship the Devil through Voodoo, New Orleans and Haiti. Do you believe God has no penalty for sin? But then————-

Unless you have had a conversion, (ACCEPTED Jesus SACRIFICE for your sins), should you even be questioning if Robertson is right or how GOD feels toward him?

    Just askin'?

When Robertson starts endorsing more abortions at tax payer expense, approving of the immoral Czars in this administration, or the lies that flow from the mouths of almost ALL the "President's men and women", (NOT to forget the PREZ himself), then I too will wonder of how much he is loved by GOD!

  • 22 LoneScrappler // Jan 15, 2010 at 4:29 am

Just for the record, the "Haitian-pact-with-the-devil" story is not an invention of Pat Robertson.

A brief excerpt taken from another blog …

On August 14, 1791, a group of houngans (voodoo priests), led by a former slave houngan named Boukman, made a pact with the Devil at a place called Bois-Caiman. All present vowed to exterminate all of the white Frenchmen on the island. They sacrificed a black pig in a voodoo ritual at which hundreds of slaves drank the pig’s blood. In this ritual, Boukman asked Satan for his help in liberating Haiti from the French. In exchange, the voodoo priests offered to give the country to Satan for 200 years and swore to serve him. On January 1, 1804, the nation of Haiti was born …

… and that is just a scratch on the surface: plenty more where that came from.

But for right now, it's gonna stay there.

Just exactly how that all fits in with an earthquake 219 years later is another question.

  • 24 RAM1 // Jan 15, 2010 at 12:43 am

I had to look up Bob's story because I had not heard it yet. Naturally it was big play on ABC news. Quote from the article is pretty funny—-

"Earlier today, senior White House adviser Valerie Jarrett said on "Good Morning America" that she is "speechless about that kind of remark."

"Our heart goes out to the people of Haiti. … That's not the attitude that expresses the spirit of the president or the American people, so I thought it was a pretty stunning comment to make," Jarrett said."

I always thought if you were "speechless" that meant you did not say anything? Of course, it wouldn't be the first, (or last), time Jarrett would/will lie! lol

BTW, the "attitude" of the president has been recently to wait several days to address the killing by a radical Muslim of our military at Fort Hood, couldn't stop playing golf to address a tragedy, (that was only averted because the "underwear plane bomber" botched igniting his pants), but mere minutes to address this tragedy. I have to wonder why our brave military, and the American public do not deserve the same respect as victims in a foreign Country, doesn't everyone wonder about this, and if not, then WHY NOT?

ALL of these tragedy's or averted tragedy's should have been addressed like the most recent one, and until Obama starts showing he is "no respecter of person's", AND who is most important in his life, himself (this is my guess), or ANYONE else, then it is he, and he alone who I will continue to wonder what GOD thinks of him!

Martha Coakley (and Barack Obama, Nancy Pelosi, Harry Reid et al) have only one message to the electorate, and that message is weak tea.

The Obama administration is considering a criminal trial in Washington for the Guantanamo Bay detainee suspected of planning the bombing of a Bali nightclub that killed 202 people, a plan that would bring one of the world's most notorious terrorism suspects just steps from the U.S. Capitol, Fox News has confirmed.
