Bush Admits Invasion Plans Driven by Hydrogen
(2003-01-31) — U.S. President George Bush admitted today that he’s pressing forward with plans to invade Iraq in order to acquire that nation’s potentially-vast supply of hydrogen. During this week’s state of the union address, Mr. Bush announced $1.2 billion in federal funding for development of hydrogen-fueled cars.
“Sure, Saddam’s an evil dictator who has weapons of mass destruction,” the president said, “But my main ambition is to tap those rich reserves of hydrogen. You see, hydrogen can be made from the natural gas produced during the oil-refining process. So, here’s the plan: first, we get all the Iraqi oil wells, then we refine the crude, throw away the oil and keep the hydrogen.”
Protestors immediately gathered at the White House gates chanting “No blood for hydrogen.”
