While you’re re-branding maybe you might want to consider going “whole hog”.

Trade in your pachyderm for a “WingNut”, and change your cognomen from GOP, to “WingNuts”R” Us”!

I even have a slogan for you, “Only Hand Tightened Nuts Allowed”.

    Everthink?

Interesting that this push to “move forward” means to capitulate on every morality based issue of the age. The republican party is not going to fix anything by agreeing with the progressive voices of change. Removing our country from the blessings of Almighty God is not progress.

Thank you, Scott. God Bless You and Yours

“I think the big problem right now…if there is such a problem…is fostered by the media and by a few talking heads out there, and a lot of bloggers, frankly, who want this whole discussion to be about the celebrities in the news. You want it to be about Ann Coulter. You want it to be about Rush Limbaugh. You want it to be about Newt Gingrich, and these sort of very public personalities. But the reality of this country is that most of us aren’t celebrities. Most of us are normal people, with normal jobs, who have very sincere concerns about the fact that our freedom is being stripped away by more and more centralized government, that taxes are being increased and that the economy is going into the toilet — not because businesses have failed, but because the U.S. government has meddled in the capitalist system and caused a raft of unintended consequences. If we could get off talking about celebrities for just a few minutes, and talk about the U.S. Constitution and talk about fiscal responsibility, perhaps this debate would move forward and we would stop sniping at each other…whether we’re Republicans or Democrats or in between.”

On a side note: May 4 never goes by without my remembering 1970.

Problem? Of course there is a problem, their viewer/ readership is up! That’s a problem!

    Conservative theme song?

    How about the National Anthem.

    Works for me.

    Maybe God Bless America?

McCain lost because he was Obama light, no pun intended.

Thanks to CNN, I now know I have been saying the word “blogger” wrong. According to the hostess, it is pronounced, “blow-grr”.

  • 8 baragirl // May 4, 2009 at 11:08 pm

Well, Excuse me, Mr Ott, IMHO you are a celebrity. You make far more sense than the talking Heads, and I happen to know, Rush Limbaugh is one of your fans.
But of course ,what you say is true ,the Dismals are using the Bill Ayers playbook, Target, Isolate ,
Attack, Destroy. It’s an old Commie ploy and it worked wonderfully against Sarah Palin. Oh, The dims had a lot of help from Sarah’s “friends”.

Actually, once the turkey up at the top started making noise I couldn’t hear her anymore. If you listen to how guys like him think we should change we would be just like McCain - what? A “D”-light?

  • 13 JamesonLewis3rd // May 5, 2009 at 1:11 am

Hussein versus Arafat. I was twenty at the time. Little did I know, or even imagine, that Arafat would eventually actually lose his repulsiveness in the eyes of so many.
It’s unbelievable, but there it is. I mean, here we are.
Anyway, thanks for the flashback. May 4, 1970 changed my life and world events took on a new dimension beyond simply history-in-the-making. It was tear gas in the nostrils of myself and my daughter as I drove down a Columbus street near campus. Around the same time, just a few dozen miles away, bullets and death.

R.A.M. Re#7: Once upon a time people who spoke in public would check things like pronunciation to avoid making fools of themselves. Today those on the left are so taken with themselves that they assume whatever they say or do must be correct. Another grating example is the mispronunciation of the word “prion” on the current “junk science” season of 24, and of course there’s the whole “global warming” mythology.

Oh, yeah, and a happy Five of Four to one and all!

“Professing to be wise, they became fools …”

Better and elephant than a jack@$$. Sad that the RINOs and the Republican Party became more like Democrat Lite, hence their fall from grace.

    Psychotherapy for Liberals.

It’s going to take a lot of psychotherapy to wean Obamabots out of their Donk psychosis. Has anyone else notice the blind fealty the average Donk has for the Demoncrap Party … the biggest cult in Amerika? Sheesh, how embarassing, you would have thought liberals were smarter than that given their self-deception about how “open-minded” and “educated” they are. I guess there’s no more “speaking truth to power” with the libs in power.

  • 17 Laughing@You // May 5, 2009 at 3:17 pm

“I guess there’s no more “speaking truth to power” with the libs in power.”

Oh, I don’t know about that; I’ve spent years speaking out against the party that was in power!

And now, we are free at last, thank God Almighty, FREE AT LAST!

Apparently, my psychotherapy hasn’t worked with you. So now I have only one course left.

COME OUT OF HIM THOU FOUL DEMON OF CONFUSION! COME OUT NOW, I COMMAND YOU! DO HIS MIND NO FURTHER DAMAGE!

Darthmeister, if drugs are involved, please tell me, because I may have to do this again. But, even so, you will be free of your WingNutism soon. Go now, and fill your void with good and decent things, lest seven more demons come in.

Now, Darthmeister sin no more! You know what I mean!

gafisher re#15: I thought it was just me. Glad to know you have noticed that too. Maybe I dreamt this, I really don’t know anymore but, didn’t the pronunciation of the word ideology, used to be, i·de·ol·o·gy?

If so, then why do I hear MOST commentators say it like, ?’d?-?l’?-j?? It sounds like they are starting to say idiot, which is what MOST of the MSM ones are!

I also think I know why the Obama admin has changed the name of the “swine flu” to H1b1 to the 13th power or something. Maybe it is because a lot of them have made promises, then in private have said, “I’ll make good on that promise when pigs fly!”, and “swine flu” is a little too close to sounding like “swine flew” and they might have to keep some of those promises?

OK, I’m sorry, —-no really, I am sorry, for that pun, ———————————————————————————————————————————————————-sorry!!!

OK, I’m not sorry for the pun, just sorry that it wasn’t better! ;-)

  • 19 R.A.M. // May 5, 2009 at 3:34 pm

“Removing our country from the blessings of Almighty God is not progress.”

    Look Dingbat,

We have been attacked at home by a foreign enemy, our Constitution has been called a GD piece of paper by our former president. Hurricane Katrina destroyed one of our nations oldest cities, killing thousands, and leaving bodies to rot in the streets, while our president flew out to sing Happy Birthday to John McCain. We have attacked an innocent country, killing tens of thousands of their people, then torturing hundreds at Abu Grieb, and hundreds more at Guantánamo. Bush spent our children’s inheritance to enrich his friends, while bringing about the death of thousands of Amerca’s best young people. Spending which together with Republican “deregulation” has almost brought about our nation’s financial ruination.

America is cursed with a self-righteous bunch of obstructionists who always believe they have a better idea, when those same ideas have already been demonstrated to be disastrously wrong!

A group of people, decreasing in number daily, who will lie, cheat, steal, smear, and satirize to get there own way, then blame others when “their way” fails

This is a group whose focus is on who they hate, more than ever solving a problem, or lending a hand to their fellow man.

This same group spouts scriptural nonsense, perverting the very essence of the gospel of Jesus Christ!

Removing the “Blessing” of the Religious Right, will be God’s greatest blessing on the United States.

White House Press Corps Stand At Attention for Obama, Not So With Bush

Could someone tell the lap dogs in the press corps to quit throwing their panties at the presidential podium? It’s blocking Obamarx’s view of the teleprompters.

Lamestream media = Pravda … and kool-aid swilling Donks love it! It was recently revealed the White House “loves MSNBC” - I kid you not.

Since when does being a mental patient give you a license to practice.

Do you have any real area of expertise?

We’ve tried politics, American History, scripture, and to some degree theology, now you want to try psychology?

If you had much knowledge of the subject, you would know better than to expose yourself to those who do, “it is better to remain silent …”.

You seem to have some writing skills, but it’s hard to say for sure since you cut and paste great volumes from other lunatic sites. That, and you repeat the same dumb phrases over and again.

Thy hatred of all things Bush distortion thy ability to think rationally.
Next time we’ll know better than to allow a hurricane to hit a city ran by Democrats in an area where environmentalists (who love the “D” party) continue to prevent improvements to prepare for the inevitable. Government performed in the manner that government does. Sadly though, the population of New Orleans did not perform as responsible adult citizens should be expected in such circumstances.
That is what America is becoming, a bunch of helpless, government dependent, incapable of thought or action individuals who think America is one big teat for them to suck on cradle to grave. Takers and not givers or providers.
That’s one thing about how God sends judgment on a people, he really doesn’t have to “do” too much, leave the people to their wicked desires and they will bring most of it upon themselves.

  • 28 mindknumbed kid // May 5, 2009 at 6:58 pm

Perhaps this will see sooner than we think: America via the Obama administration is already trying to coerce Israel into doing things that the current Israeli leadership will reject, Obama then refuses to stand by Israel, and they decide to take on Iran. The entire middle east will side with Iran, but what about America?
I say Obama and the dems will side with Iran. I say that we would send troops to help them, probably as peace keepers at first, but then if Israel would defy “the world” we would find ourselves fighting with their enemies.
I think it just might happen. Anyone else want to put in their 2 cents on it?

  • 29 mindknumbed kid // May 5, 2009 at 7:02 pm

I’m sure that all good “Christians” such as Neverthought will support Obama all of the way.
At best, I see Obama as a muslim sympathizer, at worst a closet muslim with a covert agenda to help defeat the “Great Satan”.

And when they pass the “hate crimes” bill will it be illegal to preach that sodomy is sin, as the Canadian government has already done with their “hate crimes” laws?

  • 31 mindknumbed kid // May 5, 2009 at 7:19 pm

It is a pastor’s responsibility to give the people God’s message, but if government endeavors to muzzle that message - will he care? He’ll probably just be happy that we still have “freedom of religion” here and Americans can continue to play “choose a god” under the laws of the land.

    Daniel 5:22-28 (King James Version)

    22And thou his son, O Belshazzar, hast not humbled thine heart, though thou knewest all this;

23But hast lifted up thyself against the Lord of heaven; and they have brought the vessels of his house before thee, and thou, and thy lords, thy wives, and thy concubines, have drunk wine in them; and thou hast praised the gods of silver, and gold, of brass, iron, wood, and stone, which see not, nor hear, nor know: and the God in whose hand thy breath is, and whose are all thy ways, hast thou not glorified:

24Then was the part of the hand sent from him; and this writing was written.

25And this is the writing that was written, MENE, MENE, TEKEL, UPHARSIN.

26This is the interpretation of the thing: MENE; God hath numbered thy kingdom, and finished it.

27TEKEL; Thou art weighed in the balances, and art found wanting.

28PERES; Thy kingdom is divided, and given to the Medes and Persians.

For whatever the reason, since Obama took office the life and times of Belshazzar keep coming into my mind.

“Thy hatred of all things Bush distortion thy ability to think rationally.”

I hate all the corrupt, and disgusting things Bush did to the United States, and I hate the false representation of Christ he, and his supporters, have made to the world. Even so, I would that he, and you, would come to know the truth, and by that knowledge be made free.

After listing YOUR condemnations of the people of New Orleans you add:

“That’s one thing about how God sends judgment on a people, he really doesn’t have to “do” too much, leave the people to their wicked desires and they will bring most of it upon themselves.”

Well, devout and knowing one, there was the matter of a Category 5 Hurricane. Further, I ask were all the churches, and all the sick, and all the people suffering infirmity a part of your god’s judgment?

    May the Lord rebuke you!

Well, prophet, I don’t have your gift. But, I don’t believe it is reasonable to believe your speech in church can be limited, unless you are, like the Jihadists inciting violence against a person, or group.

If you choose to preach about sodomy on the streets, that may be a different matter.

Compromise, hell! That’s what has happened to us all down the line — and that’s the very cause of our woes. If freedom is right and tyranny is wrong, why should those who believe in freedom treat it as if it were a roll of bologna to be bartered a slice at a time?

    MKK, 2 questions please…
    1) Are you on drugs?
    2) Are you willing to share? they must be very powerful.

#3…because the U.S. government has meddled in the capitalist system and caused a raft of unintended consequences. George was at the helm when things went terribly wrong…and he started the “ball” rolling in a BIG WAY on our present course. He messed with the constitution. He showed zero “fiscal responsibility”.
Now…all our woes are due to the man he left to attempt a clean up? I’d say “nice try” but I can’t muster even that…it’s not a nice try…it’s a form of mental illness and I couldn’t guess how to treat it…unless MKK is indeed willing to share. That’d prolly do the trick.
How about it MKK…help a fellow Scrappler out?
