Obama Orders CIA to Use Hindsight First

by Scott Ott for ScrappleFace · 49 Comments · · Print This Story Print This Story

President Barack Obama today continued his effort to repair the image of the U.S. in the wake of his release of the “torture memos,” by ordering the Central Intelligence Agency (CIA) to “start using hindsight first, instead of as a last resort.”

    Considering the number of times Obama has used the “not the … I used to know” defense, perhaps he ought to put some effort into setting an example of thinking things through.

    Um, er, uh, think?

    Thinking is not what BHO or his sociopathic cabal do; they react to media stimulus, much like Pavlov’s infamous dog, and blindly adhere to the teachings of their mentoring maniac, Saul Alinsky.

    Compared to actual torture, waterboarding is quite humane, in my opinion.

    I came across another BHO lie here. I don’t look for BHO’s lies, they present themselves everywhere I look.

    because, having known God they did not glorify [Him] as God, nor gave thanks, but were made vain in their reasonings, and their unintelligent heart was darkened,

    professing to be wise, they were made fools,

    and changed the glory of the incorruptible God into the likeness of an image of corruptible man, and of fowls, and of quadrupeds, and of reptiles.

    Wherefore also God did give them up, in the desires of their hearts, to uncleanness, to dishonour their bodies among themselves;

    who did change the truth of God into a falsehood, and did honour and serve the creature rather than the Creator, who is blessed to the ages. Amen.
    ~~~Romans 1:21-25
    Red,
    I have never heard anyone argue that the torture done by the United States was the same as that done by Saddam, and that certainly is not my position!
    Conservatives, who claim moral superiority, and most often Christian virtue, ALWAYS seem to want to grade everything ?on the curve".
    So often, you castigate ?liberals? by weighing the virtues of the two parties with your thumb on the scale!
    Will you ever stand up and say what we did was wrong! The war in Iraq was wrong, no matter how many times, you switch its motivation.
    Is the world a better place without Saddam, you always ask?
    Probably, but if you ask me was it worth the lives of the young Americans lost to get rid of him?
    My answer is NO!
    The behavior of our troops, in the main has made all Americans proud! But, certain segments of all invading armies will sooner or later become abusive! After all it is their function to impose the will of their government upon those who have not freely agreed to accept it!
    Most of you here who claim to support the troops, have at most a pen pal relationship, like Darthmeister, which you try to use to support your political purposes without any real concern for the soldier or his family!
    ?At least 13 American soldiers have committed suicide in March as post traumatic syndrome is increasing suicide tendency among Iraq and Afghanistan war veterans.
    The latest figure has brought to 56 the number of US soldiers? suicide cases in 2009, according to figures released by the US Army, a press TV correspond reported on Monday.?
    Maggie #5 -
    From “Yid with Lid” today:
    Sometimes the debate on “torture” gets so silly,” and Debbie Schlussel gives the perfect example:
    Wednesday Night, on ABC News’ “Nightline,” investigative reporter Brian Ross showed a chilling-but not surprising-tape of Sheikh Issa bin Zayed al Nahyan, a prince in the United Arab Emirates’ ruling royal family, brutally torturing a man within inches of his life. Sheikh Issa’s brother Mohammed is the Crown Prince of the U.A.E.
    The man being beaten, held down, and shot at by Sheikh Issa is a farmer, who the prince claims cheated him out of $5,000 of grain. For that alleged slight, Prince Issa forces the man to eat sand, beats him with a wooden plank with a nail on it, shoots at him, pours lighter fluid on the man’s testicles and sets them aflame, drives a nail through his buttock flesh, electrocutes him with a cattle prod, and then repeatedly runs over him with an SUV.
    Incredibly, ABC News anchor Terry Moran has the utter gall to compare this real torture to America’s “torturing” (which is nothing close to this) of no more than three Islamic terrorists-including Khalid Sheikh Mohammed and Abu Zubaydah-who were bent on our destruction.
    Brian, that is a shocking investigation, especially as our own country is engaged in a wrenching debate on torture.
    Even if you think that water boarding is torture (I don’t) it should not be mentioned in the same sentence as what Sheikh Issa does in these videos. Khalid Sheikh Mohammed got wet, Los Angeles was saved. This WAS REAL torture.
    Fred: Speaking of “real torture.” Here is a link to a PDF version of a report by the British Foreign & Commonwealth Office on Saddam Hussein’s human rights abuses. It has an annex (i.e. appendix) that lists a number of torture methods that were used by his regime.
    They included:
    Eye gouging
    Piercing of hands with electric drill
    Electric shock ( incl. on genitals )
    “Falaqa” ( commonly known as Bastinado; whipping the soles of the feet with steel cables or rods )
    and others ( burnings, beatings, sexual abuse, acid etc. )
    Here is a description of another technique, which IIRC, was one of the abuses that was inflicted on John McCain at the Hanoi Hilton:
    “Victims are blindfolded, stripped and suspended for hours by their wrists, often with their hands tied behind their backs. This causes dislocation of shoulders and tearing of muscles and ligaments.”
    FWIW, this is not an exhaustive list.
    How-To Manual Found …
    Some of the drawings show how to drill hands, sever limbs, drag victims behind cars, remove eyes, put a blowtorch or iron to someone’s skin, suspend a person from a ceiling and electrocute them, break limbs and restrict breath and put someone’s head in a vice.
    Jesus did not call for a conference of merchants for discussion, nor did he send letters to other countries to see how their laws would apply to what he saw as evil!
    He did not even call all the local liberals together to ask them for a consensus of how to address the plight of the moneychangers. Nor did he seek to impose an additional tax on local townsfolk to bailout their losses.
    He saw a problem and as the Son of God, he judged them and their actions to be an evil that must be driven out. So he took action and did what was necessary to expunge the evil that was preying on the people who came to worship. He shouldered aside the crooks, pushed past the pantywaists. Jesus was a man’s man. There was no halo floating in midair over his head, there was a robe falling back over a bronzed muscled arm (made strong in felling trees to make the lumber to ply his trade as a carpenter) wielding his whip with authority and power in his voice and fire in his eyes. Truly a man of action. The liberals of his day were stealing from the poor - in the name of doing good. Kind of like our libbers today.
    John 2:15 And when he had made a scourge of small cords, he drove them all out of the temple, and the sheep, and the oxen; and poured out the changers’ money, and overthrew the tables;
    John 2:16 And said unto them that sold doves, Take these things hence; make not my Father’s house an house of merchandise.
    John 2:17 And his disciples remembered that it was written, The zeal of thine house hath eaten me up.
    If you ask me, holding your enemy captive is a form of torture. What could cause more mental anguish than being imprisoned by your sworn enemy? To no longer be able to fight alongside your comrades for your country/cause. Living day after day, not knowing if you will ever be released from your bondage. Until we repent and cease holding people as POW’s the world will surely hate the United States of America!
    Hey ET, by what you say there God will surely feel remorseful about the folks He condemns to Hell, and renounce it. Right?
    I mean God in the name of religion condemning people to eternal torment, some only being guilty of choosing a different god. If he expects anyone to want to have a relationship with him, he needs to apologize and adopt different practices. He must “change”, or else people are right to reject him. This is no way for the lone superpower of the universe to behave.
    I am strongly in favor of prosecuting War Criminals. 1st to come to mind would be Harry Reid who should brought to trial with a War Crimes Tribunal for his guilt in giving comfort and aid; abetting the enemy in time of war. A firing squad or life in prison at the very least. The same being appropriate for his gang of cohorts (at least a dozen or more) from the current occupant of the White House, the Speaker of the House, et al.
    At the same time, the following legally elected, President of the United States should bestow upon ex-president George W. Bush the Presidential Medal of Freedom, the nation’s highest civilian award, which recognizes exceptional meritorious service. President Bush will certainly qualify beyond question.
I bet he is sorry for that one, probably if you look at the Sermon on the Mount closely enough you will find myriads of apologies to us poor helpless humans.
    “Verily, verily, I say to you — He who is hearing my word, and is believing Him who sent me, hath life age-during, and to judgment he doth not come, but hath passed out of the death to the life.
    “Verily, verily, I say to you — There cometh an hour, and it now is, when the dead shall hear the voice of the Son of God, and those having heard shall live; for, as the Father hath life in himself, so He gave also to the Son to have life in himself, and authority He gave him also to do judgment, because he is Son of Man.
Exactly which punctuation mark is simulated depends on context; often it’s a logical , and sometimes the poor things seem to be having their . but mostly they just act like an impacted :.
    Anyone who equates discomfort to torture is in effect providing a defense to those who actually practice torture. Perhaps they do not realize this.
    Funny how with a little twisting and perverting you can paint God as being evil in the same manner as the libs paint America to be. I suspect that many of the leftists actually believe that God is as bad as I’ve been painting him in my posts today. Once Satan gets a foot into their thought process, it only takes a tweak here and there to throw them way out of line. It’s sort of like shooting a gun, if you are only shooting a few feet, a little error will not cause you to miss the mark, but at 4 or 5 hundred yards, it may appear as though you didn’t bother to aim at all.     The time line required for this to be true just isn’t there.
Between the period beginning January 20th, 2001 and ending January 20th, 2009 he is believed, by some, to have lied over two million times, of course most of these lies were told to one exceptionally stupid and egotistical person. But, he also was able to lie to large numbers of glassy eyed folks who were not egotistical, but something almost religiously similar to being star struck.
    MNK,
    Assuming your post 47 is for me, I will answer the second issue first.
    When I included this quote it was not my purpose to point out your typing error! Especially, since I so frequently make typing errors myself.
    In post 38 you ask, “Do you prefer to have a 9/1 type attack on Los Angeles, or to waterboard KSM? Assume this to be an exclusive either or question and answer.”
    Now you ask, “Chuckie, could you answer according to my stipulations?”
    Once again, I ask who do you think you are? What gives you the right do stipulate to me, and demand an answer! What are you going to do, waterboard me?
    But, I will answer your question, if you will tell me weather you been arrested for beating your wife one, or two times?
    “Assume this to be an exclusive either or question and answer.”
    PS
    Your question presupposes one thing to be related to the other. I do not believe this to be the case. I believe this to be, like the WMD issue, just Cheney’s “bull slinging”. I believe the answer will be proven soon.
