Leadership Vacuum May Spur Graham White House Run
(2002-12-24) — U.S. Senator Bob Graham, D-FL, told a radio audience today that he may run for President in 2004 because he’s “not satisifed with the direction we are being lead today.”
“Our nation is a mess,” said Sen. Graham, “and clearly the other six potential Democrat candidates don’t have a clue what to do about it. My candidacy would be a statement that our top party leaders are ideologically bankrupt. Four veteran Senators (Lieberman, Kerry, Edwards and Daschle), a governor (Dean), and the top-ranked House Democrat (Gephardt). Is that the best we can offer?”
