Piracy spurs Obama calls for cargo-ship reductions

The rash of piracy incidents off the coast of Africa in recent years has spurred the Obama administration to reach out to the other G-20 nations to build consensus around a “gradual drawdown of cargo vessels in global sea lanes.”

Take the Israeli approach, you don’t see their ships getting hijacked…do you. Because they don’t negotiate, they’d just storm the ship and kill everyone they see. If some of the crew survives, good for them. If not…well…there won’t be a next time.

Gotta love the headline today that tells us that the pirates are willing to fight if we approach. They’re floating in a row boat w/o fuel next to a Navy destroyer. They’re spunky, I’ll give them that. Then again in about 2 more days they’ll all pass out from lack of water. I’m betting that’ll take some of the fight out of them…

You need to look at these Somalis as struggling entrepreneurs in search of a modest bailout.
If they had a little more savvy they would surrender to our Naval forces and then immediately demand that we provide legal counsel from the ACLU …

perhaps they are just misunderstood. it is a form of weath redistribution isn’t it? much more direct too since the gummint doesn’t have to distribute it, goes right to them that needs it.
