'War On Terror' Ends, Obama Starts 'Case Against Terror'

by Scott Ott for ScrappleFace · 105 Comments · · Print This Story Print This Story

(2009-01-23) — With the signing of executive orders to close the terrorist detention center at Guantanamo Bay, to prepare to grant full U.S. citizen legal rights to foreign enemy combatants, to end the threat to ‘high value targets’ of ‘enhanced interrogation’ techniques, and to shutter so-called ‘black sites’ operated by the CIA in foreign countries, President Barack Obama sent a clear signal yesterday that George Bush’s ‘War on Terror’ is over, and Barack Obama’s ‘Case Against Terror’ has begun.

“America’s enemies should not view these moves as surrender,” said an unnamed White House spokesman, “but rather as an effort to level the playing field and to make sure that our enemies get a fair shake.”

“The battle will now be joined in the Case Against Terror,” he said, “not with lethal weapons, but with subpoenas and motions and detailed arguments. The next time one of these criminals destroys one of our skyscrapers, detonates himself in a shopping mall, poisons our water supply or unleashes a dirty bomb in a crowded subway station, he does so with the knowledge that the full power of the U.S. legal system will be unleashed on him, with no limit to the cash damages that his victims’ families can collect.”

While Bush administration tactics produced nothing measurable, beyond seven years of attack-free living on American soil, the source said, the Case Against Terror will be effective, legal and morally right, thus engendering respect among those who wish to destroy America’s way of life.

“If a Khalid Sheik Mohammed, for example, knows he’s not going to be waterboarded, he’ll sense our inherent fairness and probably be more forthcoming with information.” the administration source said, “If he resists, then he knows with certainty that he’ll spend months, and perhaps years sitting in a courtroom, listening to attorneys argue fine points of process. He’ll be begging for the waterboard.”

Right on! We don’t have a healthcare crisis, we have a legal crisis! People are losing their homes and possessions as they defend themselves against marginal lawsuits, and too many people have no access to free legal counsel. These greedy lawyers should be forced to give up their obscene profits as they bankrupt innocent families to line their own pockets. We’re entitled to free legal support! I just cringe to think of the agony these lawyers, supported by Big Brother, will inflict on these innocent, pious Muslims. And these men are powerless to defned themselves. Torture by any international standard. And here on our own soil! What’s next….. bankrupting our children?

    Off topic:

With the vast number of children being raised in “single parent” households and/or “lesbian” households. On a case by case basis couldn’t or shouldn’t single parents who refuse to provide a Father/Mother household be treated as child abusers?

From Ann Coulter’s new book “Guilty” a short excerpt:

63% of youth suicides are from fatherless homes.

90% of all homeless and runaway children are from fatherless homes.

85% of all children that exhibit behavioral disorders come from fatherless homes.

80% of rapist motivated with displaced anger come from fatherless homes.

71% of all high school dropouts come from fatherless homes.

70% of juveniles in state operated institutions come from fatherless homes

85% of all youths sitting in prisons grew up in a fatherless home.

Nearly 2 of every 5 children in America do not live with their fathers.

If that’s not child abuse; then what is? A disciplining swat on the butt? Oh, yeah, that’s it….bullfeathers is what it is.

1Tim. 5:14 I will therefore that the younger women marry, bear children, guide the house, give none occasion to the adversary to speak reproachfully.

So when they get access to the legal system we get access to them. We can sue them and their sponsors for damages pain and suffering. We should be able to reduce our national debt considerably. Also we can indict Iran under the Rico Act. And look at all the billable hours generated for law firms across the US. We’re in the money. We will be able to recoup all that we have paid to the OPECers for the last 50 years. Now that is a stimulus plan.

I cling not to Fantasyland, but to Camelot!

Goofy was supposed to be king of Fantasyland, but he turned control over to the sneering Mickey Rat and his evil Neo-Rats! Squeaking, greedy, creatures who made Fantasyland into an ugly dungeon.

These Neo-Rats did what they were told in order to stay away from the Gitmo trap. They were all too afraid to even squeak.

Then one cold day in January, suddenly the patriotic mice rose up by the millions. They hailed their new King Barack and the return of Camelot. Goofy was allowed to return to Texas for a time, before being sent into exile at Gitmo with Mickey Rat.

All the Neo-Rats followed their piper Rush-Rat over the edge into NutsoLand.

You are correct that, with his naive national security policies, O-dumber will have us all in a camel lot.

No kidding: Have you all heard that one of the features of the Dems’ new economic stimulus plan is the provision of condoms? And that more money is being allotted to replant grass on the Mall in DC than to be allocated for small businesses?

  • 44 mindknumbed kid // Jan 23, 2009 at 10:52 pm

Well, condoms are cheaper that the fees charged by the abortionists, but they have to be used every time, in order to insure that is done we will need to hire many new “agents of change” to monitor the sexual activities of every American citizen. The salaries of that many new employees would certainly exceed the cost of the hired killers.

I find it interesting that at this time of economic woe and uncertainty the Obama administration is spending our tax dollars for foreign ventures into the abortion mills. God bless Ronald Reagan for putting a stop to this unjust and evil use of taxpayers’ money, and God bless all of the Presidents who followed in his footsteps. This is the kind of evil that brings upon a leader and a nation God’s hand of punishment, it is wickedness, and if it doesn’t bother your conscience you are in a dangerous state of existence. If you agree with such foolishness, you cannot know God on a spiritual level. It reminds me of a story I once read. Daniel 5:1
Belshazzar the king made a great feast to a thousand of his lords, and drank wine before the thousand. Yes it was a fabulous party, and Belshazzar was the head of a great nation, he must’ve been the most powerful man on earth.

Unless this man repents, he will be judged in a similar manner. Will the crowd sitting at his table escape condemnation? If this nation does not repent, turning from its wicked ways, and seek the face of the Judge, her days are numbered.
This is not the time to party, it is the time to pray. Soon the party will be over.

And in the unlikely event that one of them should be found guilty, another half-dozen suicide bombers at US malls, ball games, etc.

It’s weird how the stiff-necked expect others to look up Scripture (which they denounce) for them, as if their fingers would sizzle if they did it for themselves, as if their retinas would vaporize. This is, of course, to avoid real intellectual debate and attempt to disprove an acknowledged Biblical fact which offends the licentiousness which they feel entitled to proselytize. They know such an effort would be futile. I can’t imagine expecting someone else to read the Bible for me with the full, premeditated expectation of receiving some benefit from calling it all lies.

Anyway, everything a person could possibly want to know about The antichrist is right there in God’s Word. No one has said BHO is The antichrist and that is for good reason—as of this point in time, he does not meet the criteria, nor does anyone on this planet.

The antichrist’s entire biography from beginning to end is incorporated throughout the Bible. As is the biography of mankind.

It really is a “must read.”

“No kidding: Have you all heard that one of the features of the Dems’ new economic stimulus plan is the provision of condoms? And that more money is being allotted to replant grass on the Mall in DC than to be allocated for small businesses?”

Even condoms have broad scale economic implications. Start with the sale on the property on which the latex producing plants are grown, the possible lumber harvesting needed to clear the land, the farm equipment used to plow it, the chemical pesticides and fertilizers used to prepare the soil, the seeds to grow the plants, and the harvesting of those plants. The trucks needed to haul the plants to market, the commodity broker involved in the sale. The processor who turn the plants into latex, the condom maker overhead in making the product, the wrapper production and sales cost from the wholesaler to the retailer. The driver cost in the delivery of the product to the retailer, the incidental additional purchases made by the condom purchaser while at the retailer, ie candy, flowers, wine. The purchase of bubble bath and perfume perfume and fancy nightwear.

The prevention of unwanted pregnancy, the reduction in the abortion rate, the savings to taxpayers in the treatment of deceases.

At each point of each exchange in the production process many other jobs are created and taxes are paid.

It is true, despite the “drawer draping” by certain unnamed persons of the conservative persuasion, Democrats are more likely to derive benefit from the stimulus than Republicans.

This because Democrats are better looking and have stronger libidos.

It isn’t that they are euphoric because of Obama, it is because the evil one Bush is gone. What they do not understand about their hatred of him is that is is really hatred of righteousness, not that Bush was some super-duper Christian, but that he was a man of faith and he did allow his decisions to be guided by principles found in the Word.
Obama symbolizes their freedom from religious tyranny, they feel as though now no one can tell them right or wrong, what they can or cannot do, they are free at last.
Or to put it in the framework of the scriptures: John 3:19
And this is the condemnation, that light is come into the world, and men loved darkness rather than light, because their deeds were evil.
Rejoice my fellow Americans, the light is off now and you are free to do all of the desires of your heart.

The people will show that he violated the Constitution, and his oath of office. When Ford pardoned the last such Republican he failed to set the right example.

When that’s done, I believe The World Court may have some issues to take up with him.

In Monte Python’s Search for the Holy Grail there was a scene where the government worker comes through the streets saying “bring out your dead”. In Obama’s America they will be saying, “bring out your pregnant”, and when you do they will whisk them off to the termination location and note your address for the condom police to stop by later for some sexual re-education. Reckon there will be a hotline to call Washington if you run out of “supplies”? Maybe they will authorize us to use 911 instead.

I was under the impression that it was half the job of any good and decent (relative terms, I know) liberal to tell other people how to live their lives. The other half of their job is to not constrain themselves to the rules they set forth for those they see as their inferiors (pretty much anybody who doesn’t see things their way).

[Sounds eerily similar to those folks that are soon to be let out of Gitmo, to parts unknown. Follow their rules or else...it's their way or it's bombs away.]

And anytime these upstanding ‘free-thinkers’ are challenged to live up to their own standards, they whip out their DNC-issued victim card faster than Al Gore’s mansion can go through a plateful of carbon credits. Their keening and wailing about having their patriotism challenged, or morality imposed upon them, is enough to shatter the crystal wine goblets served at dinner parties where they congratulate one another for being such good people because they care.

Let’s look at a brief list of things that liberals know better than you about your life:

What car you should/should not be driving
What foodstuffs you should/should not be eating/drinking
What light bulbs you should/should not be using
How your money should/should not be spent
How your children should/should not be raised
What your children should/should not be taught
Where you should/should not be shopping
    etc.

I’d shake my head and laugh, but that’s how we got into this mess in the first place.

Reminds me of a t-shirt I saw in a catalog:

“I’m not being bossy. I just know what you should be doing.”

When Bill Clinton was sick, I was placed in the uncomfortable position of being a man of my conscience and praying for the well-being of someone I detest.

baragirl: Thank you for your help with our resident “antiCHRIST”, but I have no more intent of proving ANYTHING to “it” than I do to Satan. (perhaps one and the same?)

The Bible is in my HEART! I KNOW what it says.

I COMMAND you troll, prove what I said, is NOT there? -What’s that you say? Only your side can make demand’s? Only GODless libs, (such as yourself), can make demand’s of the other side? Not “gonna” happen ANY MORE!!!

Yes, I know, you are such a good Christian. How do you feel about the “Freedom of Choice Act”? Do I have to PROVE what I KNOW GOD thinks of it?

You libs cannot prove where “right to abortions”, “separation of Church and state”, “right of the LAZY to live off taxpayers from cradle to grave”, or any number of nonsense you spout daily is at in the Constitution, but now expect me to prove something to you?

PS: As baragirl said, I, (we) don’t take orders from the sorry likes of you. If libs cannot and will not PROVE their claims, don’t expect us to PROVE ours to you! As was told to you earlier in JL3’s post, quote: “The antichrist’s entire biography from beginning to end is incorporated throughout the Bible. As is the biography of mankind.

It really is a “must read.”, end quote.

See how that works “Satan’s helper”? Open your Bible, IF you have one, and spend some time ADORING your CREATOR, try spending at least as much time worshipping JEHOVAH GOD, as you do your “American Idol Prez”!

Alas, even IF I did show you proof, you would find a way to take it out of context, just as you did when I RIGHTLY called you a fool! You then quoted a Scripture, that you OBVIOUSLY do NOT understand anymore that you do the Constitution. Keep looking for those “loopholes” in both, God will let you know if you’re right on JUDGEMENT DAY!

PS: I noticed your posts are getting a little longer now that the political sides have flipped and you are defending your “Godless, abortion-on-demand-, terrorist-releasing, boy”.

You have a little under 4 years to defend him. Just a few days ago, you were counting down the hours and minutes until your boy took over, now only HOURS into his “reign” you see what it is like defending him.

Good luck with that! Careful what you wish for! :-)

PS: If I decide to COMPLETELY ignore you in the future, please know, that is my CONSTITUTIONAL RIGHT!

  • 91 mindknumbed kid // Jan 25, 2009 at 4:59 pm

I typed Vanilla Ice Cream into the search engine of my online Bible, and guess what? It didn’t find it in the Bible, thereby giving me all of the proof I need to say that Vanilla Ice Cream is not in the Bible ( I did not include the book of the Resolutions written by Soetoro, as it is not accepted by any scholars as being within the canon of scripture), so unless someone proves otherwise, I rest my case.

I must offer my opinion about post #90, by et. In all of my years on Scrappleface I have yet to read anything that anyone has written that is so thoroughly steeped in stupidity. It is because of that reason I was compelled to comment on it, I really don’t want to be mean, or to hurt his feelings, but that comment demanded comment.

OK everstink, I will do what your side refuses to, I will answer your queery, (I know it’s spelled wrong, but it seems to fit you), about where in the Scriptures people would not be able to speak against the Anti-Christ/ Beast:

Rev 20:4And I saw thrones, and they sat upon them, and judgment was given unto them: and I saw the souls of them that were beheaded for the witness of Jesus, and for the word of God, and which had not worshipped the beast, neither his image, neither had received his mark upon their foreheads, or in their hands; and they lived and reigned with Christ a thousand years.

It only stands to reason, if people will be beheaded for not worshipping the beast, the same will happen if they speak against him.

I am sure you being the great Bible scholar that you are, you will now disagree, right?

Please don’t disappoint me and agree with me, proving you can actually interpret Scripture correctly!

Official One Week in Office Joe Biden Commemorative Keepsake Doll

Pull the string and it says complete and udderly useless statements. Dressed in genuine government issued camouflage uniform so you can put it anyplace in your home and you will never know it is there.

This doll will mimic the real Joe Biden who seems to disappear into the halls of the White House-though he may still be around.

Who knows? That is the fun of owning the Halls Boroughâ„¢ non-inflatable doll.

This is the real thing. You will be the life of your urban gathering as the doll says such comical one liners such as “Joe wants a cracker head, We only have 6 months to live and I too could have been Secretary of State.”

Hurry now while supplies last. Only 500 of these dolls were made before we were forced to destroy the mold. Each doll is numbered to make your friends think it is worth money.

The surprise is-the stupid thing is free. Just pay shipping and handling of $62.95 and we will drop it off on your front porch sooner or later.

Remember-you voted for him and now you have him twice as many times as you can stand.

Caution: It may be hard to tell the difference which dummy works and which just sits there.

Not to be used on Amtrak

No batteries needed, just insert the hand and dig until it hurts.

    All sorts of strings attached.

Call within the hour and you will get absolutely nothing for free, sucker.

Dial 1.800.Tinafay as operators are standing by smoking cigarettes

Times are tough, not only in Michigan, but all over the country. We financially challenged fathers can keep up our courage by considering our grand roles as imaging our Heavenly Father to our little ones.
“Your Father knows what you need, before you ask Him. ‘Pray, then, in this way: ‘Our Father who art in heaven, Hallowed be Thy name. . . Give us this day our daily bread . . .’” (Matthew 6:8-9, 11).
“Or what man is there among you, when his son shall ask him for a loaf, will give him a stone? Or if he shall ask for a fish, he will not give him a snake, will he? If you then, being evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more shall your Father who is in heaven give what is good to those who ask Him” (Matthew 7:9-11).
As image bearing Fathers, we’re fundamentally to be providers – not fulfilled self actualizers, not esteemed business owners, not corporate heavy hitters, not sharp automobile drivers, not stylish clothing wearers. We’re to be providing bread winners who sweat from our brows (Genesis 3:17-19), caring for the needs of our wives and their babies.
These hard times help us get back to the basics of true manly and godly nobility. Edgar Guest hosted a cheering radio program in Detroit from 1931 to 1942, through the heart of the Great Depression. His poem provides perspective for many in 2009:

    Father

Used to wonder just why Father
Never had much time to play,
Used to wonder why he’d rather
Work each minute of the day.

Boys are blind to much that’s going
    On about them every day,
And I had no way of knowing
    What became of Father’s pay.

    Father didn’t dress in fashion,
    Sort of hated clothing new;
    Style with him was not a passion;
He had other things in view.

All I knew was when I needed
    Shoes I got ‘em on the spot;
    Everything for which I pleaded
    Somehow Father always got.

    Wondered season after season
Why he never took a rest,
And that I might be the reason
    That I never even guessed.

Saw his cheeks were getting paler,
    Didn’t understand just why;
    Saw his body growing frailer,
Then at last I saw him die.

Rest had come – his task was ended,
    Calm was written on his brow;
Father’s life was big and splendid,
    And I understand it now.
