First? What on earth happened to all my fellow Scrapplers? I’m usually at least the 15th!

Scott: Once again a brilliant piece of work!

God (have mercy on and) bless America!

  • 2 conserve-a-tip // Jan 22, 2009 at 2:41 pm

Woodnwheel: We’re wandering around in circles, wringing our hands - or at least I was until I remembered who really is in control and who places “kings and princes” and establishes for how long. With God, we can live in serenity in the midst of chaos.

  • 3 upnorthlurkin // Jan 22, 2009 at 3:10 pm

Brilliant, as expected, Scott. I’d add a 4th option though….with the one’s gigantic intellect on parade this morning, maybe we could bribe whoever is pulling the strings, and get Roe overturned by EO….

  • 4 RepublicanAttackMachine // Jan 22, 2009 at 3:12 pm

woodnwheel , I can’t speak for everybody else but, I was watching Obama on some channel, and seem to have fallen into an hypnotic trance.

I looked down and three hours had passed!

Oh wait, he was so boring, droning on and on with his, uhhh’s and ahhh’s I think I must have simply fallen asleep!

â–º1,569,233,200+ abortions in the US since Roe v. Wade.
â–º1 out of every 66 deaths in the WORLD is an American abortion.
â–º1 out of every 4 deaths in America is an American Abortion.

  • 6 RepublicanAttackMachine // Jan 22, 2009 at 3:18 pm

Scott, If only that was what Obama was talking about, (innocents being slaughtered), I believe I might be able to “get onboard” with Obama!

  • 7 woodnwheel // Jan 22, 2009 at 5:19 pm

CAT re. #2 & RAM re. #6: AMEN!

wv: DESERT shown - I’ll let you come up with your own interpretations for that one ;)

  • 8 Newsman // Jan 22, 2009 at 6:18 pm

There is nothing quite like negative people spouting more negativity to enable a bad situation to feed on itself and becoming even worse !

Keep it up and you will reap what you sow !

  • 9 upnorthlurkin // Jan 22, 2009 at 6:32 pm

We learned from you guys….never let a chance go by to bad mouth a president…..

  • 10 JamesonLewis3rd // Jan 22, 2009 at 6:45 pm

    Interestingly unsubtle:
That’s (#8) called the self-fulfilling prophecy ploy and is, therefore, a clear admission that we (conservatives) are right.

We already know it’s going to get worse.

We actually listened to what BHO has promised.

We already see the locomotive getting stoked and the frenzy to get on board.

Most of us (conservatives) are doing our best with whatever we can muster to bring their heinous schemes to the light of day.

This is not a joke. Worldwide anarchy is not the answer.

  • 11 boberinyetagain // Jan 22, 2009 at 6:57 pm

JL3, I thank God that what you can do amounts to zero, nada, zip.
Funny stuff Scott, this format is brilliant! Too bad I have to come home to see it…

  • 12 boberinyetagain // Jan 22, 2009 at 7:00 pm

upnorth, we had 8 years worth of clearly demonstrable instances of…shall we be kind?…poor judgement to choose from. It was near impossible not to be a whole bunch more negative

  • 13 gafisher // Jan 22, 2009 at 7:01 pm

What negativity, Newspam? Yours is the most negative post in the thread.

  • 14 gafisher // Jan 22, 2009 at 7:18 pm

Oops, I stand corrected Newspam; bobo has you beaten.

The young man who took time to pen his disappointment at our criticism of Odie-Bama, well he kind of reminds me of Lewis Carroll who saw everything a bit askew when he gazed in a mirror-or at least his character did.

Now that he sees Odie-Bama’s reflection in the mirror (television) suddenly it is all backwards and when he belly-ached about Bush, he now sees the opposite taking place.

    Lewis Carroll’s The Looking Glass

“Now, if you’ll only attend, Kitty, and not talk so much, I’ll tell you all my ideas about Looking-Glass House. First, there’s a room you can see through the glass — that’s just the same as our drawing-room, only the things go the other way. I can see all of it when I get upon a chair — all but the bit just behind the fireplace. Oh! I do so wish I could see that bit! I want so much to know whether they’ve a fire in the winter; you never can tell, you know, unless our fire smokes, and then smoke comes up in that room too — but that may be only pretence, just to make it look as if they had a fire. Well then, the books are something like our books, only the words go the wrong way; I know that because I’ve held up one of our books to the glass, and then they hold up one in the other room.

Please Mr News, don’t throw stones in that glass palace you have placed Odie-Bama in.

Scott that was brilliant! And great comments with only a couple of exceptions. Unfortunately its all just words, just speeches…

  • 17 mindknumbed kid // Jan 22, 2009 at 9:04 pm

When is et’s idol going to put us on the paths of blessing by repealing all of the abortion restrictions that our kind saddled the nation with?

c-a-t, your comment in post #2 is the only thing that will get us through the days to come. We’ll just keep looking up everyday and rejoice in Him!

    Proverbs 16:25 (King James Version)

25There is a way that seemeth right unto a man, but the end thereof are the ways of death.

  • 19 Left Coast-Right Mind // Jan 22, 2009 at 9:42 pm

    Bravo, Mr. Ott.

Hopefully this is just the first in a long line of kooky, and dangerous, left-wing causes that gets snubbed by President Barack H-word Obama. The looks on some people’s faces are going to be priceless when they realize that their messiah just threw their sacred cow under the bus.

I really liked President Obama’s speech about the closing of Gitmo, and the disposition of the prisoners there. Heck, if I was a prisoner of Gitmo and heard that it was closing, my disposition would be a jubilant one. Kinda like how Hamas and Hezbollah celebrate victory in the streets after Israel is pressured into backing off and not eradicating them.

So, here we are going into the third day of President Barack H-word Obama’s presidency, and I just noticed that the needle on my car’s fuel gauge is still moving closer to the ‘E’. Is it too early to start calling for a vote of “No Confidence” in President Obama’s ability to keep my fuel tank full without any effort on my part?

  • 20 Newsman // Jan 22, 2009 at 9:46 pm

Hey upnorthlurkin - I can recall some Bush stances that I thought made sense, a couple of which brought forth no support from his own party members !

What really prompted my post was my reading that Limbaugh allegedly said that he hopes “Obama fails’

It strikes me that many of you here feel the same as Limbaugh.

Now that is a real dumb hope! He wants Obama to fail and hence all the rest of us to suffer accordingly, especially economically, just to support his dislike for the man ?

  • 21 mindknumbed kid // Jan 22, 2009 at 10:48 pm

Yeah, it makes more sense for a conservative to hope a liberal is highly successful in all of his ways.
    Stupid, ignorant conservatives anyhow…

  • 22 mindknumbed kid // Jan 22, 2009 at 11:00 pm

Cause and effect will determine a person’s success and failures, not other people’s desires. Even if Rush was hoping to high Heaven for Obama’s success in office it wouldn’t matter diddly-squat.
History reveals how Carter’s admin worked out and also Reagan’s, makes no sense to wish for a near cc of Carter to “succeed”, particularly when you agree with Reagan’s policies.
It isn’t personal, it is not his dislike for “the man”, our view is that the best hope for America is for Obama to fail to institute failed policies.
Should I also say that I hope he is successful in neutering our military, scrapping new and better weaponry, and rendering us a more vulnerable nation? If so, I had better hope that all of the world falls in love with us, and our new naive leader.

  • 23 mindknumbed kid // Jan 22, 2009 at 11:03 pm

Your inability to think and understand are very telling as to why you post such drivel.

  • 24 Darthmeister // Jan 22, 2009 at 11:34 pm

Putting words in our mouths, Newsman? I expected better from you, but I suppose you’re keeping up the fine tradition of modern journalism aren’t you?

If anyone wanted an administration to fail it was the moonbats on your side of the aisle who for seven years worked to undermine the Bush Administration with an equal measure of mendacity and conspiracy-laced calumnies.

I don’t think anyone here has said they wanted to see Mr. Obama fail but rather we have said that if he plunges headlong in the pursuit of a whacked out liberal agenda that he gave more alert Americans brief glimpses of during the presidential campaign, he will indeed fail.

Plus we’re going to point out his failures and that of his administration using facts and legitimate news stories that the national social media will more than likely ignore because it might undercut their pro-Obama narrative.

Well Scott, I did think that your insight was brilliant and that your message was hopeful, but The Obie-One-Can-Know-Bees talked with the Pope today and in discussing abortion just had to tell that old guy in the white robes that they would just have to agree to disagree. I am hoping that the Pope became disagreeable. :-)

  • 26 onlineanalyst // Jan 22, 2009 at 11:57 pm

Ah, but in our “Present”-dent’s brave new world, or as MsRW,Ink calls it the looking glass world, “escaping the womb” means being scraped, vacuumed, and flushed out before complete development. Otherwise, the fetal matter is just a punishment.

Nice work, Scott. Planned Parenthood is “the world’s leading abortion sales chain” provides that dose of truth.

I see that one of Present-dent Obama’s pressing item of business today was an Executive Order to use our tax dollars to spread the expulsion of womb growth worldwide. What an ambassador for life, eh?

  • 27 Fred Sinclair // Jan 22, 2009 at 11:57 pm

JL3rd #10 B.Hussein Obama can’t move too quickly to outlaw guns - we’ll be hugging our guns and Bibles too tightly. His ‘back door’ approach is to ensnare the purchase of ammo so it will be mostly impossible to buy more. With the laser etched bar code on the base of all bullets handloaders will become illegal.

Then it’s back to square one as our DNA runs true we will emulate Washington, Adams, Jefferson, Henry, etc. (keep your powder dry; lead balls from muzzleloaders leave no ballistics to trace)

When France’s Emperor dis-armed the people they developed a form of un-armed self defense - Savate

When China’s Emperor dis-armed the people they developed a form of un-armed self defense - Kung Fu

When Okinawa was dis-armed; the people developed a form of un-armed self defense - Karate

When the Russians were dis-armed; the people developed a form of un-armed self defense - Systema

When the Koreans were dis-armed; the people developed a form of un-armed self defense - Hanja/Taekwondo

These people moved from their status of Citizen to Subject.

The people of Great Britain and Canada are no longer Citizens but, due to their complacency (failure to rise up and act) for all intent and purpose are mere Subjects.

In Canada, police smashed in doors, roughed up citizens, treated them like criminals, trashed their homes looking for firearms, which when found were confiscated.

Adolph Hitler, was freely elected to the role of Chancellor. His very first official act was to outlaw all firearms. Using firearm registration files the Brown Shirts dis-armed the Citizens confiscating all firearms.

Idi Amin’s first act was to confiscate all firearms.

Every despot, dictator, etc. always dis-arm the people first. Our 2nd Amendment wasn’t written to raise a Militia but to ensure that the people had protection from their Government.

When B.O. begins confiscating our firearms will we in our complacency follow the example of England and Canada and sheepishly become subjects as we forfeit our citizenship?

Citizens like myself will become criminals as we cling to our guns and Bibles, to the last drop of blood. We will also become quite adept in the use of knives, crossbows, Bow and Arrows, etc. which we will use to dis-arm the Brown Shirts (or maybe the new storm troopers will be dressed in light blue shirts - to match their logo?)

I guess that Present-dent Obama doesn’t have any “skin in the game” of protecting the unborn.

Newsman: Why don’t you head on over to http://www.hotair.com and actually view the clips of Rush Limbaugh’s interview where he forthrightly explains exactly what he means regarding not supporting Obama’s success. Rush is no big-government collectivist, and Obama’s programs promise more government intrusion and the loss of our liberties and our prosperity. (Really, for such a newsman, you have very poor critical thinking skills and do rely on hearsay too much.)

  • 29 Left Coast-Right Mind // Jan 23, 2009 at 12:15 am

So it’s bad for me to hope that President Obama fails to lose the war against islamofascism?

How about hoping that President Obama fails to drive our economy further into the ground with ever-expanding bailout packages?

Does hoping that President Obama fails to institute his civilian national security force (whatever the heck that is) make me a bad person?

Will hoping that President Obama fails to completely socialize the free market or bankrupt us all in order to perpetuate that myth of ‘Manmade Global Warming’ add me to someone’s fecal roster?

If so, too bad…I want him to fail at those things.

Some things in which I wish him all the success in the world are:

To do as he said in his inaugural speech. And that is to eliminate government programs that are shown to not be working.

To reward “the risk-takers, the doers, the makers of things — some celebrated, but more often men and women obscure in their labor — who have carried us up the long rugged path towards prosperity and freedom.” by getting the government out of their way.

To uphold his responsibilities as Commander in Chief. “We will not apologize for our way of life, nor will we waver in its defense.”

Time will tell which things in his inaugural address he actually meant, and those things that were “just said”. But I am not all that “hope”ful that he will “change” from his past policy positions.

Hmmm. Interesting twist - prolifers are challenging the Annointed One to attend an abortion in order to see what it is that he supports. That along with the following:

    1. He must learn about abortion evil by talking with suffering post-abortion mothers and fathers.

2.”He must talk with an adult who survived the violations of abortion.

3.”He must learn about the love and work of selfless pro-lifers who provide free services for pregnant mothers.

4.”He must join with us volunteer March for Life defenders who stand up for change which overturns Roe vs. Wade because we cannot tolerate that our beloved country continues to participate in the intentional genocide of an estimated 50,000,000 innocent preborn human boys and girls since Roe v. Wade.”

newsboy said in #20, “Hey upnorthlurkin - I can recall some Bush stances that I thought made sense, a couple of which brought forth no support from his own party members !”

What’s your point? We already know Bush made some mistakes. :-)

In case you didn’t catch the satire, (I usually have to explain things to children too), the things YOU thought made sense, did NOT to us!

Conservatives, (MOST of us), are willing to admit when errors are made.

Someday, (MAYBE), libs can learn this too?

  • 32 RepublicanAttackMachine // Jan 23, 2009 at 10:23 am

MKK re#21, Trying to explain anything to an “Obama worshipping lib” is like banging your head against a wall.

Hoping Obama succeeds, (when he has already told us what he wants to succeed at), is like inviting someone into our house, then leaving, with him still there, along with our pregnant wife and bank card and P.I.N., who we already know wants to “spread the wealth around” and kill the unborn under ANY and ALL circumstances!

Should we also be happy that he took the first step yesterday, toward letting his “muslim brothers” be released in a year to try to kill us again! He did this with absolutely NO PLAN for where to put them!

Gee, wasn’t MOST of your libs rhetoric the last 6 years that Bush went into Iraq without thinking of the consequences?

Why did YOU and your lib lemmings root for Bush to not succeed?

Try using the RIGHT side of your brain as well as the left side. That side actually works better!

  • 33 RepublicanAttackMachine // Jan 23, 2009 at 10:38 am

Remember the “good old days” whenever someone said something ignorant, (or just plain stupid), people laughed at them, and then they thought a little more the next time BEFORE they said something?

Thanks to lib P.C., not wanting to hurt anybody’s feelings, (well, EXCEPT Christians, Conservatives, and anyone else who doesn’t think EXACTLY as they do), and their policy that has infiltrated the schools that there is no wrong answer, we now see the insanity of them thinking that what they say is NOT ignorant, or stupid, but makes sense.

Maybe I shouldn’t have used the word “thinking” in that last sentence? :-)

Nobody is ever going to tell me what I can say—nobody will ever stop me from speaking the Truth—even if I am but a dim flicker in comparison to Him. Assemble a mob, beat me down, I will praise the Name of the Lord to my last breath because I know I already have the Victory.

It is not up to me who does or does not listen but my prayer is that-wherever I go, whoever I speak to-even just one empty heart might hear what the Holy Spirit is saying to their conscience.
