Let me be the first to congratulate you, Scott, on this new video endeavor. The mainstream media and their satirists on the left should be quaking in their boots. There’s a new sheriff in town. Looking forward to your unique take on the news of the day.

  • 2 Shelly // Jan 14, 2009 at 4:42 pm

Fabulous! The American people shouldn’t expect a financial genius like this guy, with all that experience in financial institutions, to understand finances. It was just an “honest mistake.”

  • 3 JamesonLewis3rd // Jan 14, 2009 at 5:16 pm

Well, it really isn’t all that uncommon for someone to not pay their taxes and then lie about it.

    Excellent work, Scott!

  • 4 gafisher // Jan 14, 2009 at 5:39 pm

It’s no small thing that Geithner’s “unparalleled understanding of our current economic crisis” was gained from the inside.

  • 5 JamesonLewis3rd // Jan 14, 2009 at 6:41 pm

Here’s proof that Geithner could not possibly have known that he wasn’t paying his taxes.

  • 6 conserve-a-tip // Jan 14, 2009 at 6:59 pm

Bravo! Bravo!! Encore. Encore. Oh. I can play it again? Cool!

Yes, the Obama Messiah made an honest mistake when he nominated a guy who didn’t pay his income taxes and who hired an illegal alien. The annointed one’s halo is slipping.

  • 7 conserve-a-tip // Jan 14, 2009 at 7:03 pm

Scratch that - typing faster than my brain - that would be Self Employment taxes, not income. But it COULD have been!! :-)

  • 8 Ms RightWing, Ink // Jan 14, 2009 at 7:55 pm

Wa hoo, that was more fun than watching the Evening News. I like the effects. Great job.

Now back to my tax returns. Hmm, nothing from nothing equals how much?

  • 9 Darthmeister // Jan 14, 2009 at 7:58 pm

I can still remember the Donks smirking about Joe the Plumbers $1500 unpaid tax bill and calling him a “tax dodger.” Well, what’s good for the goose is good for the gander in spades here.

The great irony of this may be in the near future when, like the Clintonistas, the IRS will be used by the Pelosi/Reid/Obama cabal to harass conservative critics of the velvet gulag.

BTW, if liberals whine that we should “put aside our differences” and rally around the empty suit Obama and embrace his “progressive” agenda for “change”, we must first remind them of their own seven years of President hatred and then say: “As a matter of principle and fairness, Mr. Obama should be treated exactly the same way you guys treated President Bush … don’t you think? I mean, it’s only FAIR, right?”

Fortunately, unlike the left, we won’t have to make up lies and have the liberal media carry our water. I believe Mr. Obama’s inexperience, arrogance, and left-wing naivete will provide enough fodder for us to make our arguments stick.

  • 10 conserve-a-tip // Jan 14, 2009 at 8:27 pm

MsRightWing, Ink: I hate to tell you, but the IRS didn’t take the same math courses that you and I took and to them Nothing from Nothing is Something! :-)

  • 13 Huapakechi // Jan 14, 2009 at 10:00 pm

If the IRS rules are so confusing that financial geniuses can’t understand ‘em , shouldn’t they be changed to make sense?

  • 14 BlackLion31U // Jan 14, 2009 at 10:02 pm

    ROTFLMAO,

I’m sorry Scott, quote “stick to second rate blogs” unquote.

  • 15 baragirl // Jan 14, 2009 at 10:11 pm

Isn’t this great? Now we ,like the Americans who elected Obama ,no longer need to be able to read .We can just get all our news from short Newcasts.

    prettyold

    Captcha:
Accepted Tingly- Uhh- someone want this one , I’m not going there.

  • 16 woodnwheel // Jan 14, 2009 at 10:16 pm

baragirl: Thanks a lot! Now I’m gonna have to pull out my “Romy & Michele’s High School Reunion” soundtrack and listen to the original lest that earworm be stuck in my head all night ;)

    Scott: Brilliant! I echo mdvirgilio’s comment (though I’m at least the 15th, not the 1st ;) )

  • 17 onlineanalyst // Jan 14, 2009 at 10:57 pm

Nice job, Scott! You present the facts with wry understatement and manage to skewer the folly of the unsuitability of this choice in the Obama cabinet. Unlike the despicable Keith Olbermann, who wouldn’t recognize a fact if it bit him on the nose holding up his metrosexual glasses, who chews the carpet with his histrionic delivery, and who literally spits his venom, you are the master in pointing out the follies of our political class.

Geithner has more points against him than his problems with the IRS and his sloppy personal accounting. As a head of the New York Fed, he allowed the out-of-control financing in Citi Bank to evade accountability, to say nothing of AIG and Lehman Brothers. The credit collapse and failure of some major New York investment houses and banks are very much in his bailiwick, and he failed the test. This is the type of person that the nation trusts as Secretary of the Treasury?

How many of these Obama Cabinet picks have shaky monetary ties? Their corruption histories do not inspire confidence.

  • 18 baragirl // Jan 14, 2009 at 11:45 pm

Oh come on now OLA .we are all entitled to a few little mistakes. I make $43,000 mistakes on my taxes all the time, and especially when they pay me extra money ,just to pay those taxes. I get a good laugh whenI sign that line on the tax form, where I say it’s the truth ,I mean ,ya’know what is truth, you know? Isn’t that just like “it”?
I t’s a very common mistake. Rush had a montage of all the “Minor” media people telling us so.

  • 19 baragirl // Jan 14, 2009 at 11:47 pm

Just love that St. Louis Blues March theme song.Is it Glen Miller?

  • 20 baragirl // Jan 14, 2009 at 11:51 pm

woodnwheel ,you know what I do when I get one of those earworms ? I go write a parody . After that I never want to hear that song again.

  • 21 baragirl // Jan 14, 2009 at 11:58 pm

You wanna kow what really burns my cork the most . Geithner is gonna get a pass. He is not going to be frog marched, or ridden out of town on a rail ,or even quietly asked to step aside,it will just be Democrats as usual. Not just corruption ,but openly rotten corruption, and the Rino’s will be all smiles and applause.

  • 22 onlineanalyst // Jan 15, 2009 at 12:19 am

Heh! Geithner was playing a con game and ignoring the advice that his employers at the IMF gave all employees about their tax obligations. Byron York spells out the seriousness of what Geithner had done, and it involves more than not paying his taxes.

Sorry, Harry Reid and Obama, this is no “hiccup”.

  • 23 RepublicanAttackMachine // Jan 15, 2009 at 10:25 am

Scott, SNN is a WINNER! This should get noticed by the media VERY SOON!

As for the subject, (If I didn’t miss something in the story I saw about this appointment in the MSM), Geithner knew in 2006 he owed back taxes, but ONLY paid them recently, AFTER he was nominated for this job?

If I read that right, if there was no nomination, then there would probably have been no tax payment!

That’s kinda’ like me returning my neighbor’s lawnmower I have had for two years, AFTER he tells me, if I return it, he will lend me his new 60″ HDTV.

  • 24 RepublicanAttackMachine // Jan 15, 2009 at 10:35 am

baragirl re#21: You are 100% correct! Even some lame R.I.N.O.’s are solidly behind him!

This will be just like the “grilling” Hillary took.

Well, “grilling” is the word the LameStreamMedia used, it looked more like a “mutual admiration society meeting” to me! ;-)

I heard Pat Robertson say that Geithner should be confirmed, and that this tax thing was much to do about nothing! He, TOO, has lost his mind, but I should have known this when he endorsed Rudy for President.

Even Charles Krauthammer sounds like he is softening toward Obummer after the dinner that the “O” threw for Conservative journalists.

  • 25 Ratt // Jan 15, 2009 at 4:43 pm

That’s what’s kiln me, these Obama Supporters are sayiny it’s not all that bad forgetting about $40,000 in back Taxes, Huh ? I wonder Snipes thinks about this ?

Not to mention; this Montary Fund Bank he worked out specializes in, yep you guessed it, Deficit.

  • 26 Left Coast-Right Mind // Jan 15, 2009 at 9:32 pm

Masterfully done Mr. Ott. Your newscast is just as brimming with biting satire as is your text. Now I need to go Google which country has a chicken on its flag…I’m pretty sure it isn’t France, but I’ll double-check.

  • 27 RepublicanAttackMachine // Jan 15, 2009 at 9:49 pm

LC-RM: Actually, the flag is not of a Country, but the new flag of Kentucky. A kind of tribute to “The Colonel”. ;-)

  • 28 Left Coast-Right Mind // Jan 15, 2009 at 10:16 pm

    RAM:

Very good. Although the chicken flag could also be used for the Congressional Republicans and pseudo-Conservative journalists who are jockeying for the best position to kiss President-elect Barack H-word Obama’s pinkie ring.

(The flag in the video is that of Zimbabwe, by the way. And upon further inspection, it may be a dove and not a chicken.)

wv: Russian policies - oh my…too much material here.

  • 29 mig // Jan 16, 2009 at 8:12 am

A friend of mine wanted to move his money to an off-shore account but it is now illegal (?) and Switzerland is no longer accepting American Money(?) Has anyone else heard of such a thing. Like I have been saying : we’re already socialist. That peaked with the freaking 90’s. Now we’re heading down the crooked but WIDE path to communism. This will be the most corrupt cabinet ever.
Remember when Pres Bush nominated Kerik, but he had to step down because there were questions related to the immigration status of a former household employee.
The Press went to town on him. Is there anyone left in the press that has an ounce of integrity? I think not.

Scott congratulations on this venture - I pray that people will start turning up the volume and LISTEN to you.

  • 30 RepublicanAttackMachine // Jan 16, 2009 at 8:42 am

LC-RM: I think you may be closer, except I am not sure it is his pinkie ring, the R.I.N.O.’s are jockeying for.
