(2009-01-09) — Resolving a standoff between Senate Democrats and the embattled Democrat governor of Illinois today President-elect Barack Obama named Gov. Rod Blagojevich as special envoy to the middle east responsible for guiding peace negotiations between Israel, Hamas and Hezbollah.
“Rod has demonstrated extraordinary skill and persistence,” said Mr. Obama. “A month after getting arrested by the FBI, this guy is still in office. That’s the kind of character it’s going to take to gain credibility with Hamas and Hezbollah.”
Mr. Obama said he would dispatch Mr. Blagojevich immediately to the troubled region.
“I have already spoken directly with Hamas leadership,” said Mr. Obama. “They have agreed to provide housing and office space for Ambassador Blagojevich and his charming wife adjacent to a weapons depot to ensure their safety.”

This won’t be the last such appointment, though Caroline Kennedy’s likely to be disappointed in her bid to be named Ambassador to, like, y’know, Berkeley.

I just doubt Blago will give up his Governorship ,to which he was duly and legally elected,though “They” are talking of impeaching him.We found out with Clinton what a devastating blow that is.Not only will Blago revitalize his career ,but he can write a “best -selling “book.

If Governor Blagojevich were a Clintonite, he would have fallen on his sword already, instead of putting up a fight. President-elect Barack H-word Obama really needs to find himself a better class of friends.

Old Blago should feel right at home with those ME bomb-strapped honeys. I would imagine that he will lob a few bombs himself when he is eventually called to testify before Fitzgerald.
If the goods that he has on all of the Chicago players don’t crater some politicos and serve as an example to terrify the terrorists, then his colorful language will make them keep their sandals on. Ah, the sands of time should bury a lot of troublesome scorpions.

When Blago handed Reid a knuckle sandwich, Reid put on his best bib and with a yessiah misser obama ate it with relish. Chicago politics has come home to roost.
