(2008-09-29) — Just minutes after the Bush administration’s $700 billion financial-sector takeover went down to defeat in the House today, Congressional Democrats introduced a bill that would mandate a 6:02 a.m. (EST) sunrise for Tuesday.
“The sun will come out tomorrow,” said House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, D-CA, “but only if Congress takes action now to eliminate uncertainty.”
Conservatives in Congress immediately expressed reluctance to support the Mandatory Sunrise Act, noting that government intervention is unlikely to have the intended effect, and could produce many unintended, and unpredictable consequences.

“The Sun may come out tomorrow, but I knew Little Orphan Annie, I served with her, Little Orphan Annie was a friend of mine!
YOU, Mrs Speaker, are NO Little Orphan Annie!”

I have a Washington Mutual, (WaMu), credit card. If I charge a bunch of stuff on it, and they go bust, do I have to pay it?
I say, “go bust” because, I thought they already did, yet, I just used it online and it STILL worked!

Bush caved on the Bill, as did some Republicans in Congress who should have known better, but the Dems own both the Bill and its ultimate defeat. I’m proud of my own Representative, Pete Hoekstra, who stood with good sense on the issue.
The House has now adjourned until Thursday, when this extremely urgent matter which must not be delayed for a moment may be taken up once again.

My fantasy would be for every news outlet to run the YouTube clip that Fred sent to Rush and Hannity, and that they subsequently opened their shows with today, followed by Pelosio’s “nose extending” speech that she so foolishly made prior to the bailout plan vote. I think she may have put a chunk of money down with the Vegas odds-makers before she made her stupid remarks. Might have made a 100 bill herself, the odds had to be pretty good.

“The sun will come out tomorrow,” said House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, D-CA, “but only if Congress takes action now to eliminate uncertainty.”
“And if it doesn’t happen that way” she added, “you can blame those unpatriotic Republicans.”

I’m loading up my Sears card hoping they go bust or perhaps beg me to pay them at a lower interest rate. You know, if ya want the dough, then let me set the interest

I like this version better!
The Sun’s Comin’ Up
Once again, I face Satan this morning
And I battle him, all the day long
But in my weakness, God sent reinforcements
And at sundown, I’ll sing Victory’s song
And the sun’s comin’ up, in the morning
Every tear will be gone from my eye
This old place is gonna give way to Glory
And like an eagle, I’ll take to the sky
In a world, filled with doubts and confusion
It’s so hard, when you don’t understand
But I’ll stand, on a solid foundation
And I’ll hold, to an unchanging hand
And the sun’s comin’ up, in the morning
Every tear will be gone from my eye
This old place is gonna give way to Glory
And like an eagle, I’ll take to the sky
And the sun’s comin’ up, in the morning

Video of Democrats in 2004 ignoring the impending mortgage industry meltdown by vigorously condemning calls for reformatory regulations and new oversight standards by Congress. The Donks vigorously defended Government Sponsored Enterprises(GSEs) which was created by Congress to “enhance the flow of credit to targetted sectors of the economy” which was simply liberal speak for giving easy credit to low to moderate-income, high risk borrowers.
When will the leftard national media grow some cojones and start getting the truth out there that the Democrats were in large part enablers and facilitators in the mortgage industry meltdown which is now affecting the backpockets of 62% of Americans who have invested in the financial markets in good faith?
Of course something devastating would probably have to happen to shame the lamestream media into becoming unbiased, professional journalists thus overcoming their natural kneejerk tendencies to protect the Democratic Party from its own folly. Naw, if there was a Depression, the Donks and the media would still blame it on the Bush Administration even though it warned Congress no less than 12 separate times over the last seven years that it had better exercise its oversight in the growing financial crisis within the mortgage industry. But with Donks like Waters, Frank, et al sticking their heads in the sand, apparently there was no hope of Congress ever taking its responsibilities seriously. Apparently the Demoncrats figured out back in 2004 it was far easier just to blame “right-wing ideology” and the Bush Administration … like Nancy Pukelosi (D-Moon) did today.

I really think that someone should get a copy of Pelosi’s rant against the republicans and tack it right on behind those clips from the 2004 hearings and buy national ads. Doesn’t the MSM owe us a glimpse of truth at this time? Thank the Lord for the internet and YouTube! We should be marching through the streets until the MSM quits “running cover” for the liberals 24/7. Their agenda trumps our right to know truth every time. If the libdems are so great, why do they need these enablers to keep their power? And if they are not so great, why are there so many journalists seeking opportunities to serve them? Must be their agenda that is seen as being great enough to justify their journalistic malpractice. Keep spreading the truth, maybe one day the people will start to see things for what they really are with our help.

I think we are all going to be singing Dean Martin’s song, “I Got the Sun in the Morning and the Moon at Night.”
*******************************************************
I got no diamond though I’m shy
Still I think I’m a lucky guy
I got the sun in the morning and the moon at night
Got no mansion got no yacht
Still I’m happy with what I’ve got
I got the sun in the morning and the moon at night
Sunshine gives me a lovely day
Moonlight gives me the milky way
Got no checkbook got no bank
Still I’d like to express my thanks
I got the sun in the morning and the moon at night

A Sunrise Bill is what we’d expect from Congress; a Sunset Clause is what we need. If the CRA and similar atrocities had to be reauthorized every two years, even every four, we could at least hope to avoid saddling ourselves and our children with laws which ignore reality.
