Obama Bill to Fund Foreign Policy Training for Girls

by Scott Ott for ScrappleFace · 29 Comments · · Print This Story Print This Story

(2008-09-03) — Sen. Barack Obama, the Democrat presidential nominee, reacting to the growing concern about Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin’s lack of foreign policy experience, today asked his staff in Washington D.C. to introduce legislation creating a $44 billion program to “teach girls about other countries.”

“My bill will not only help future female vice presidential candidates to get up to speed,” said Sen. Obama, “but it also addresses a larger problem. If Sarah Palin, a state executive and commander of the National Guard, doesn’t understand foreign policy, then imagine the vast ignorance of female voters.”

“Women are more than half of the population, and there are millions of them out there that we’re counting on to pick our nation’s leaders,” Sen. Obama said. “If Sarah Palin is not competent to be one, how can we expect American women to be smart enough to pick one?”

This is the same Barry who doesn’t know how many states we have?

    I’ve had an epiphone….oh, that’s a guitar? Well, an Epi-pen? That’s a shot? oh. Epiphany!! Yeah, that’s the ticket:

The Democrats are so freaked over the Sarah Palin nomination because the Republicans aren’t supposed to have the first woman VP in office. That’s supposed to be the Democrat’s baby - but they aborted it. Just ask Hillary! Too funny.

  • 4 da Bunny // Sep 3, 2008 at 3:15 pm

Obamuuuhhh is just following in the footsteps of NBC’s Andrea Mitchell who said that Palin would only garner the “uneducated women” vote.

    Speaking of babies, c-a-t…

Da bunny: That is bad!! Too funny.

I got to thinking, to add to my post above, not only did the Dems abort their opportunity, but the Republicans will carry it to full term! Two of ‘em! :-)

Perhaps someone else who has run a state which shares borders with two foreign countries could give Gov. Palin a few pointers.

The Libs are showing their true colors for all the world to see and sure enough it isn’t very pretty.

When someone like Sarah Palin is so far above reproach that “grasping at straws” they resort to using a Down’s baby and a 17 year old kid as Political Footballs the world (and all America) is made aware of just how desperate they are.

Dealing with Russia on fishing Alaskan waters, Japan on timber theft, Canada on a 40 B$ pipeline, etc., I’d say her International credentials far exceed B.O.’s whose International credentials are comprised of talking to a crowd in Germany about himself (The One). and certainly not much of anything else worth commenting about.

Personally, I don’t think he is worthy of the honor of shining her shoes. Surely, with his race baiting attitude, he’d smear her white pumps with black shoe polish, and then stand there with his hand out waiting for a tip.

As for McCain I think the RNC has the two candidates in a juxtapositional mix-match she should head up the ticket with Mc as her backup. Considering the strain the responsibilities of the office impose on a person, she is literally a heartbeat away from becoming President.

Sort of difficult to maintain continuity betwixt the threads these days. Scott. is it possible to link all of the comments from the multiple daily threads? (So that all four of today’s threads would contain all of the comments from each of the four threads.)

I was wishing to comment on the comments about the sunspot activity, I can’t recall who posted it now, and my now mind is already spinning with another idea to bring up, help, I’m still a hunt-n-peck keyboardist!
The intellectually superior minds are all over Lady Sarah (and the rest of us ignorant rubes) about her crazy idea that we ain’t a-causin’ the earth to get all het-up. I had heard about this sunspot “crisis” about three or four weeks ago and began to speculate as to what it might mean for future temperature patterns here and there and everywhere. IMHO, there are so many aspects that even the most highly educated among us cannot comprehend the complexity of it all, nor predict what is on the way in years to come. How often is accuweather really accurate? Then there is God, who must truly be amused by the Henny Penny crowd, could the lack of sunspots actually be God allowing them to make fools of themselves? The Algorites would seriously have egg on their face if we were in all actuality heading into a cooling period, no? So let’s assume that God is not in control, or is non-existent, and that we are causing GW-ing, but fail to realize the coming cooling. And let’s suppose that we can reverse it and we change (oh, such a lovely word) our ways and the effect is now really beginning to be seen…uh-oh, no sunspots, the sun is cooling off, we need to reverse our reversal, but we can’t, we would need to do in excess what we have been doing all these years to “cause” GW-ing in the first place. This is absurd!! Man is not capable of being God, he just thinks he is…

    Idea #2

This political climate is really nothing more than a religious war. Our side stands with God, we believe the Bible is indeed the literal Word of God, and that it is our duty to honor him both individually, and as a nation. We believe what God says is sin, IS sin. We believe we are to do our best to live sinlessly, and to please God, our Creator.
The other side is diametrically opposed to our view. They have their own religion in which man is god. Man determines what is right and wrong (the only wrong is being on the other side) and man controls all things in his creation (government). Man hates God, for man is a jealous god and desires no boundaries.
What we are seeing today is out enemies (aka God’s enemies) waging a jihad against the followers of God. Therefore, we realize the fundamental ties betwixt them and other jihadists. I therefore second the call to battle that da bunny previous raised today.
“It’s a battlefield brother, not a recreation room. It’s a fight and not a game.”
And it is getting serious folks.

    our enemies, not out…
man is a jealous god, and desires no boundaries…

Probably other problems in there too, I didn’t really look for ‘em.

There’s been so much negative press about Governor Palin, and it doesn’t matter to the Mainstream Media, nor the Far Left Bloggers, if the stories are true, or not.

Inspired by their dedication to keeping the general public informed, I’ve selected a variety of POSITIVE stories about Sarah Palin; stories which may or may not be true! The fact that someone, somewhere, has said these things justifies their being repeated so that the world is kept informed!

-The very idea of Sarah Palin as VP increases “Depends” sales among scatalogically frightened Democrats.

-Sarah Palin begins every day with a moment of silence for the political enemies buried in her yard.

-When Sarah Palin booked a flight to Europe, the French immediately surrendered.

-When Sarah Palin attends ritual blood orgies, she always brings the most delicious ambrosia salad.

-Sarah Palin will give birth to the man who will lead humanity’s war against the machines.

-Jesus has a bracelet that says, “WWSPD?

-Sarah Palin is the “other” whom Yoda spoke about.

-Chuck Norris wishes he was Sarah Palin trapped in a man’s body.

-Sarah Palin once bagged a caribou by staring it down until it died.

-Sarah Palin is actually Kaiser Soze.

Please help by sharing these allegations with anyone who will listen until the truth is known!

From Yuval Levin at the NRO Corner:

I have always tended to think that conservative complaints about the media are a little exaggerated. There are occasionally obvious instances of bias and clear examples of a double standard, but most reporters don’t want to fall into those and some conservatives are surely too sensitive to them.

But this week has changed my view.

I have never seen, and I admit that I could never have imagined, such shameful, out-of-control, frenzied, angry, condescending, and pathetic journalistic malpractice. The ignorant assault on Palin’s accomplishments and experience, the breathless careless airing of deranged rumors about her private life, the staggeringly indecent mistreatment of her teenage daughter in a difficult time, the ill-informed piling on about the vetting process, the self-intensifying circle of tisking nodding heads utterly detached from a straightforward political event, have been amazing and eye-opening.

Despite the abhorrent and reprehensible manner in which the lamestream media is presently conducting itself by so openly engaging in the politics of personal destruction with respect to Sarah Palin and her family, there is a silver lining in those media-based stormclouds of hate - at least it’s finally opening the the eyes of people like Mr. Levin to the true nature of liberal journalists.

As I opined yesterday, that absolutely cannot stop themselves from doing what they are doing to Lady Sarah Palin. It is a habitual sin in their lives, and up until now no one really noticed it. The hate filled feminazi types will not be swayed, but the millions of women who are for equality are going to become outraged to the point they will not only vote for her, they may even become republicans. And old Barry-O has no clue how far this is going to drag him down. Even if he can portray himself as Mr. Nice, he is then going to be seen as the empty shell of a man that he is, the least qualified candidate ever to be nominated.

The press wasted no time attacking Lady Palin, the winking and nudging made their assignment clear.

This one hit my funny bone the right way.

Kristol on Sarah Palin, Hockey Mom

    By William Kristol

McCain aides whose judgment I trust are impressed by Sarah Palin. One was particularly amused by this exchange: A nervous young McCain staffer took it upon himself to explain to Palin the facts of life in a national campaign, the intense scrutiny she’d be under from the media, the viciousness of the assault that she’d be facing, etc.:

Palin: “Thanks for the warning. By the way, do you know what they say the difference is between a hockey mom and a Pit Bull?”

    McCain aide: “No, Governor.”

Palin: “A hockey mom wears lipstick.”

Newt challenges reporter to name just one accomplishment of Obamessiah other than give speeches.

Reporter responds by sending it back to the desk. Buwhahahahaha.

Admittedly the “reporter” didn’t want to become the story but he did precisely that when he challenged Newt as to why Republicans felt Palin was ready to “be president.” Yeah, he tried to recover but journalists are such ignoramuses when it comes to denying/hiding their behind-the-scene narrative.

  • 20 mindknumbed kid // Sep 3, 2008 at 9:28 pm

Here is what is right about Lady Sarah Palin…
“I can do my job there in developing our natural resources and doing things like getting the roads paved and making sure our troopers have their cop cars and their uniforms and their guns, and making sure our public schools are funded,” she added. “But really all of that stuff doesn’t do any good if the people of Alaska’s heart isn’t right with God.”

    America, are you listening?

    On DRUDGE:

The SUN - London, England (snipet)

A WEEK ago nobody had ever heard of her.
Today she is the most talked-about woman in the world. And with good reason.

Sarah Palin’s sensational performance at the Republican Party Convention may turn out to be the tipping point of this rollercoaster American election.

Obama fans hoping she would fluff her big night were in for a nasty shock.

This speech has turned the election upside down. It was simply stunning.

Democrats and their Lefty media backers had been sneering that she was a small town nobody, a hick from the Alaskan sticks put into a job way beyond an inexperienced woman.

Believe me, you will not be hearing that again.

Palin turned out to be an electrifying mix of intelligence, passion, energy, optimism and plain speaking.

Full of self-assurance and aggression, she popped Barack’s balloon big-time.

    GO SARAH, GO!
