After Obama Speech, McCain Asks Terms of Peace

by Scott Ott for ScrappleFace · 45 Comments · · Print This Story Print This Story

(2008-08-29) — The morning after Sen. Barack Obama’s historic acceptance speech as the Democrat nominee for president, his Republican rival today petitioned for terms of peace.

“I plead for mercy from my clearly-superior opponent,” Sen. McCain said. “In his speech last night, Sen. Obama accomplished more than I have in my military service and Senate career combined. His words carried the power of actual deeds, his rhetoric was tantamount to character itself, and his ability to hold an audience spellbound is the moral equivalent of integrity, patriotism and years of accumulated wisdom.”

The clearly out-matched GOP nominee said he now has only one request of Sen. Obama: “Be gentle with me.”

    Yes, it was an inspiring performance.

    I am now inspired to fight harder than ever against God-hating, America-hating Socialists like BO and his criminal ilk who are intent on destroying my country.

    What gets me, and I really mean no offense, is how this is continually, ecstatically and tearfully put forth as the historic campaign of a Negro. This makes no sense to me. What if (with the same bi-racial parents) he had come out white? Doesn’t BO just look like a Negro?

    I mean, after all, he’s got Johnny Cash on his ipod, doesn’t he?

    Hmmm, I wonder if after Obama’s coronation if you don’t genuflect before his highness you’ll be called a racist? Of course the leftists have already done their genuflecting.

    Headline News (I kid you not):

    AP: Obama speech spares details, keeps up attacks…

    Of course Obamessiah is short of details, the man hasn’t any clue unless one of his handlers tells him the answer. Obamessiah has always spoken in shrouded generalities … peace … unity … prosperity … I’m ready … blah, blah, blah. I guess Biden will now say merely being the head of a presidential campaign makes someone qualified to be president since Obamessiah clearly said he wasn’t qualified just months before starting his campaign for POTUS.

    Gore: Obama = Lincoln…
    Buwahahahahahahahaha. Does that mean The One is going to eliminate the fascist race preference laws (i.e. affirmative action) and free the white man from having to pay for the liberal’s welfare plantation? Somehow I doubt it.

    Dems find ‘green’ political convention tough to enforce…

    Oh? And somehow the Donks and Obamessiah are going to green all of America? Notice the operative word “enforce”. You would think being green comes natural to Demoncrats the way they talk but noooooooo, it has to be ENFORCED! Hypocrites.

    Carter: McCain ‘milking’ POW time…

    Now there’s a real patriot for you, Carter that is. Hey, Jimmah, why don’t you go and work out another one of your wizard nuclear deal with the North Koreans. At least America will be missing another village idiot while you’re gone.

    Ah, so the Maverick concedes to the overwhelming wisdom and experience of the Annointed One that the PUMAs claim was “selected, not elected”? And Mav recognizes that 80,000 dewy-eyed sheep can’t be wrong…if “The Boss” is up next on the stage?

    It’s time to hide your savings in mattresses, folks, if the Community Organizer® who blew through scads of Annenberg money in Chicago with his crony Ayers has any say in the issue. OhBummer: Destroying America One Community at a Time! Now, that’s change you can take to the bank!

    President Obama is going to rock our collective worlds. You unbelivers are going to miss it. We are going to pull out of Iraq, we will see a close of the economic gap, we will see more government programs to help people, we will all have cars that run on hydrogen or old fryer oil, we will have more exciting state of the union addresses, and we will see lower taxes. It is sinful for you guys to be against hope and change - how many times does he have to say it. Also, don’t get upset about his abortion stance, he says it is above his pay grade (how humble). I don’t see any humility in your “Dark Knight” President Bush.

    Good Bush Joke:
    President Bush was asked about the increased crime rate in Hawaii. President Bush then replied that we shouldn’t worry ourselves with the affairs of foreign countries when we have enough problems here in the Good U S A.

    Michael Phelps was on steroids

    Hope and change.

    My country,’ tis of Thee,
    sweet land of liberty, of Thee I sing;
    land where my fathers died,
    land of the pilgrims’ pride,
    from every mountainside let freedom ring!

    My native country, thee,
    land of the noble free, thy name I love;
    I love thy rocks and rills,
    thy woods and templed hills;
    my heart with rapture thrills, like that above.

    Let music swell the breeze,
    and ring from all the trees sweet freedom’s song;
    let mortal tongues awake;
    let all that breathe partake;
    let rocks their silence break, the sound prolong.

    Our fathers’ God, to Thee,
    author of liberty, to Thee we sing;
    long may our land be bright
    with freedom’s holy light;
    protect us by Thy might, great God, our King.

    Things the media ought to ask Obamessiah in his next interview:

    1) Why didn’t you heal the guy in the wheelchair in the front row while giving your acceptance speech? Or did you do that afterwards?

    2) Where were all the vestal virgins? Are aren’t there any virgins left in the Democratic Party?

    3) When the audience swoons before you, do you feel empowered?

    4) Do you accept worship from the knees or must the nose be touching the ground?

    5) When did you realize that Allah God endowed you with all the experience and knowledge to be POTUS?

    6) Given the adoring crowd before you and the Greek columns surrounding you on stage, did you feel like you were at home as the Oracle of Delphi?

    7) Will you and Michelle temporarily ascend to Heaven after the Democratic Convention closes or will you simply vacation in Indonesia to reacquaint yourself with your real roots for a week?

  • 16 Darthmeister // Aug 29, 2008 at 10:20 am

    Hmmmm, President Obamessiah will “rock our world”? I think the anti-Christ will have that ability, too. Be careful what you wish for, that is if your post isn’t really a sarcastic parody.

    A truly free people (and liberal socialists are slaves to their own venal appetites and nihilistic depravity) don’t need to have their world rocked … we do it ourselves, thank you very much,

  • 18 Left Coast-Right Mind // Aug 29, 2008 at 10:34 am

    I’ll admit that I did not watch Sen. Obama’s speech last night. The big reason why is that I didn’t want to wind up tossing a brick through my only television set. Although, it would give me an excuse to go out and buy an HD set for the upcoming cable signal transfer in February ‘09, due to Congress’ swift action to preserve my Constitutional right to cable TV. But that’s another story for another time.

    To me, watching Sen. Obama speak is like watching the Home Shopping Network. You know it’s all hype, you know what he’s selling is crap, you know that no matter how good the deal sounds it will end up biting you in the end and you sit in stunned amazement at all the people who are calling in willing to be taken in as a sucker.

    Another thing that gives me a chuckle is that Sen. Kerry’s fingerprints can be seen all over some of Sen. Obama’s damage control.

    Pop Quiz hotshot…Some rich ‘evil’ Republican finances a 527 group to launch an attack ad in a couple states questioning your past and throwing doubt at your worthiness to become President. Do you:

    A. Disclose any and all information to the public that will stab at the heart of the ad and expose it as false, thus rendering the 527 group no more than a laughing-stock and watching them slink off into obscurity?

    or

    B. Call the 527 group a bunch of liars, then attempt to use your power and influence in the federal government to bring pressure to bear on any television or radio station that dares run the ad, all the while trying to redefine ‘censorship’ as ‘fairness’, thus allowing the ad to find a national stage instead of being limited to the original coverage area?

    Question 2

    Some guy goes out and writes a book about you, that is none too flattering, and casts doubts over your ability to be the Commander-in-Chief you claim you’ll be. Do you:

    A. Ignore the book, and show faith in your supporters that, even if they do read it, will not believe in it because your strength of character is unassailable. Perhaps even buy a copy for yourself and read it, find falsehoods within its pages and launch an ad campaign of your own pointing out the falsities in the book and thus condemning the author to ridicule.

    or

    B. Call the author a liar, then attempt to use your power and influence in the government to bring pressure to bear upon any retail store that dares carry the book on its shelves?

    Personally, I can’t wait for Question 3, when you actually go out and try to pull your own book off store shelves because it has stuff in it that is embarrassing to you, and hurtful to your political ambitions.

    Just say ‘No’ to Joebama ‘08.

    JL3rd #6 - “What gets me, and I really mean no offense, is how this is continually, ecstatically and tearfully put forth as the historic campaign of a Negro.”

    Barack Hussein Obama is not a negro - he’s not a black either. (I’ve known a few ‘precious few at that’ people who are really black; mostly Doctors and Lawyers from the Virgin Islands who speak with a veddy, veddy clipped British accent.

    By definition he is a Mulatto although the PC crowd have pretty much done away with our words Mulatto, Quadroon, Octaroon, etc. Just as they have done away with such words as bastard, fornicator, stewardess, garbage collector and the like.

    He very well may be an African (by birth) A Kenyan, specifically. he is not however an African-American as I totally reject the idea of hyphenated Americans. German-American Baron Von Fustenberg-Schultz sounds ridiculous.

    I also totally reject hyphenated surnames like Lord Kingston-Barrett or Lady Penniwinkle-Smythe or First Lady Rodham-Clinton. Hyper elitist that I refuse to acknowledge. Otherwise I would be a Scottish-Irish-German-English-American-Fred Ernest Sneed-Sinclair and that sounds too stupid to contemplate. I’m stupid enough without deliberately adding to it.

    OBAMA BIN BIDEN - ‘08

  • 27 Shelly // Aug 29, 2008 at 12:00 pm

    1 - Born in Sandpoint, Idaho, on Feb. 11, 1964, Palin moved with her family at the age of three months to Wasilla, Alaska, though she returned to her birth state to attend the University of Idaho, where she studied journalism and graduated in 1987 with a bachelor’s degree.
    She grew up in Wasilla, just outside of Anchorage, played on Wasilla’s state champion girls’ basketball team in 1982, wore the crown of Miss Wasilla in 1984 and competed in the Miss Alaska contest.
    She ran for Wasilla City Council in 1992, winning her seat by opposing tax increases. Four years later, she was elected mayor of Wasilla at age 32 by knocking off a three-term incumbent.
    She has the highest approval rating of any governor in the U.S.

    2 - Arizona businesswoman, philanthropist and the wife of U.S. Senator John McCain. Cindy Lou Hensley McCain was born May 20, 1954, in Phoenix, Arizona.
    As an only child, McCain was raised in Arizona. She earned a B.A. in education and a M.A. in special education from the University of Southern California. She taught at Agua Fria High School in Avondale, Arizona.

    I can see how you’d get them confused.

    Hmmm, Sarah Palin is actually more qualified to be POTUS than Barack Obamessiah and Joe Biden combined! Buwahahaha.

    Don’t know much about her other than here and she is extremely pro-Life.

    This creates some interesting election dynamics. She’s never trashed John McCain which means the McCain campaign can continue to haunt the Donks (not that any Donk has a brain to actually hold a thought for more than five seconds) with sHrillary, Biden and other Democrat presidential contenders who - on the public record - flat-out said Obama is unqualified, too inexperienced, and nothing more than a pretty face with good teleprompter reading skills.

    I wonder how these hypocrite NAGS, who are always talking about promoting women above the glass ceiling, will respond? Probably with total ideological venom and hate. She also has an 18 year-0ld son proudly serving in the Army and will be deployed in September this year. As we know the radical feminists can’t really get their panties into a bunch over questions about real “pro-choice” since they are only pro-abortion since they also don’t believe in school-choice, gun-choice, Social Security choice, etc.

    So here’s an example of a woman who could become the next President of the United States if some crazed, left-wing anti-war kook assassinates the sitting President (like they’ve been promising to do for the last six years) … AND SHE ISN’T A DONK!

  • 31 Darthmeister // Aug 29, 2008 at 12:11 pm

    Shelly, I stand corrected. I forgot the Kerry/Edwards ticket said that if they were elected Superman would get out of his wheelchair and walk again.

    BTW, the humor at Scrappleface the last month has been simply delicious. Delicously funny without being viscious … other than to hypocrite, lying Donks who would do and say anything to get elected so as to impose their velvet gulag on the rest of us.

    Sarah Palin-

    Lifelong ERA member, hunts and fishes.
    Knows a thing or two about Oil.
    From a state sandwiched between Russia and Canada… Who is to say she knows nothing about foreign policy?
    Her eldest son is enlisted in the Army, deploys to Iraq next month.
    Youngest (5th) child with Down Syndrome, and still chose to have him instead of terminate the pregnancy.
    Ousted Republicans for their own corruption.
    Played basketball in high school, nick-named “Barracuda” (can anyone else hear a classic rock song by HEART as her theme?) and led the team in pre-game prayers.
    Played flute… Oh, I do hope she can still jam on the thing and top Bill Clinton’s saxaphone showmanship.
    Voted Miss Congeniality on her beauty pagent days. That should say something about her character.

    I’d say the Left-wingnut jobs are going to come unhinged over her for all the Right reasons. Has she no faults, at all??? Excellent choice, Mr. McCain!!!

    I’ve seen Rush excited before! Like when the e-bay sale of Dingy Harry’s smear letter brought $2,100,100.00 Rush quote: “The Marine Corps-Law Enforcement Foundation was the charity here, and they have received $4.2 million now from Betty Casey and from me. So it’s a done deal. They have the money. We’re just waiting for the work to get done at Patrick Henry’s place to make the presentation.”

    Rush was ecstatically beside himself in his happiness. but even that paled today as he displayed his hilarious joy at Sarah’s being picked as McCain’s V.P. choice. Totally out of character he turned his program over to broadcasting John’s introduction speech and Sarah’s acceptance speech.

    He suggested that Obama and Biden should leave for the Gulf and stop the approaching Hurricane so as to prepare for “Hurricane Sarah” that is about to hit them. (Her nickname is “Barracuda”) - She and her husband are ardent hunters and fishers.

    Back in May JWR did a piece on her titled “McCain, here’s your VP” so I was already praying for her even though as of last night it looked pretty sure for Gov. Tim Paulenty to get the nod. My God is an awesome God who answers prayer even when I was thinking His answer was “No”. - Fooled me!
