Barack Obama: Picture of Conservatism in Action
Posted by Scott Ott on Wednesday, August 06, 2008 10:03:42 AM
If conservatives seek someone to illustrate to the nation their glorious vision of bootstrap freedom, perhaps no better exemplar appears than Sen. Barack Hussein Obama of Illinois.

Where is everyone?
Apparently, I am the only one who didn’t get the “do not post” memo.
Good Morning Scott.
(At least I know you are awake and kicking this AM).
Sigh………….
[[Editor's Note: Enjoy the peace, Maggie -- enjoy the peace.]

Scott great post, too bad so many people don’t learn from those types of experiences.
Good morning Maggie,
I am here I just don’t post much.

RE: Prior thread - JL3rd - I do so echo da Bunny’s #62. Back in my Troll reading days (before I went on the Trollwagon) I was very much aware that you generally said more and made more sense in one post than the trolls have in all of their collected squibbles. Instead they get to post their venom here for free. I still think my $25.00 idea is worthwhile.
For $25.00 (PayPal to Scott) I could tell him that the contempt and loathing which I feel for him is so far beyond his comprehensive ability to grasp that in most any other venue his scribbles would be amusing. Here, however they are simply sad, tiresome and pathetic. Since I doubt that he will send the $25.00 I won’t say those things.
But JL3rd do reconsider and return. The fact is and let me make myself abundantly clear…..before you came here you could have followed any one of many courses, but you ‘chose’ to come here and make yourself known to us and therefore; YOU DO NOT HAVE THE RIGHT TO DEPRIVE US OF YOUR WIT AND INSIGHT!!!
B.O. STINKS

Scott, your talents are endless. Your conclusion could not be more correct. To be President of this country you need to like it. Let’s hope our fellow Americans agree.

Excellent, Scott…a portait of Obama biting the hand that has fed him.
[The link to this article didn't work for me. I kept getting "Page not found." I had to "google" it to read it.]

da Bunny #6: For the record, I experience the same problem with the link. Not sure why - I intend to take a closer look in a bit.
For now, though, I’m just hoping that my link will work !
(p.s. if not, it’s in The Weekly Standard : Title is Barack Obama’s Lost Years, by Stanley Kurtz.)
At his core, in other words, the politician chronicled here is profoundly race-conscious, exceedingly liberal, free-spending even in the face of looming state budget deficits, and partisan.
Link To Column Here .

RedPepper, not to mention outrageously misinformed about the oil industry and cars requiring tune-ups.
9 RedPepper // Aug 6, 2008 at 12:45 pm
All right, then! Nothing wrong with that link ! Click away, folks …
10 Hawkeye // Aug 6, 2008 at 12:46 pm
I agree. Excellent article, Scott. I’ve had problems getting to it though. Took me several tries before I got in. Then, after I closed the page I couldn’t get back in. (Twilight Zone music)…
Good afternoon all
[Editor's Note: The headline link from the email failed to work because the actual headline of the story was changed after the email was sent. Townhall's gizmo generated a new link to the story, and the old link no longer functioned. Knowing what you now do should make you feel better about the fact that the thing didn't work. BTW, the link at the bottom of the story did work.]
11 Hawkeye // Aug 6, 2008 at 1:35 pm
Maestro Scott. Please don’t shoot the messenger, but the link at the bottom of the story is the one I used and it still doesn’t work for me. However, the link in the left column does work. I noticed that there is a difference in the links. The one that works reads…
barack_obama_a_picture_of_conservatism_in_action.thtml
The one that doesn’t work is missing the “_a_”.
Best regards good sir…
[Editor's Note: Fixed. Thanks.]

Rush just mentioned Scrappleface!!!
(And we’re home)
13 mig // Aug 6, 2008 at 1:59 pm
Hey, just wondering, I went to buy a tire gauge and they were sold out. Does anyone have a spare?
14 Shelly // Aug 6, 2008 at 2:01 pm
Welcome home, mig! Isn’t it great that Obama informed us about these gauge thingies and how we should use them?
15 da Bunny // Aug 6, 2008 at 2:13 pm
Ann Coulter was a guest last night on Hannity and Commie. She and Sean were making fun of Obama’s “inflate your tires” non-solution. Imho, Ann came up with one of her best ideas ever…
[Paraphrasing here.] “Obama’s solution to the healthcare crisis: An apple a day.”
I was rotflmho!!
16 da Bunny // Aug 6, 2008 at 2:21 pm
Perhaps Barry oughta come up with his list of helpful tips, in the line of Hints from Heloise, et al.
Hussein’s Helpful Hints:
-Inflate your tires to combat pain at the pump.
-No need for health insurance when an “apple a day keeps the doctor away.”
-Don’t break any mirrors and you’ll always have good luck.
Etc…
Simple solutions for the simple-minded follower of “The One.”
Hey all, feel free to add to the list of Hussein’s Helpful Hints.

Cult leaders live in luxury while their followers happily toil in squalor.
18 mig // Aug 6, 2008 at 2:26 pm
I better go get some apples before they sell out. Thanks for the heads up da Bunny… It’s great to be back among the informed people of the world. Colorado is officially California East.
19 upnorthlurkin // Aug 6, 2008 at 2:37 pm
How do I plug this gauge thingy into my furnace?! I’m much more worried about the cost of heating my house than I am about the price of a gallon of gasoline (which has dropped to $3.49 /gal up here….. dummies that we are, we are fooled into thinking we’re getting a deal at $3.49…..how quickly we forget!)
20 Maggie // Aug 6, 2008 at 2:47 pm
Mig:Welcome back!
Hope you had a nice time in the Rockies.
BTW,what did Rush say about SF?
Scott has been writing excellent posts. He is among the best (IMhO)
21 upnorthlurkin // Aug 6, 2008 at 3:47 pm
God is Good!
Good news everyone! Just got off the phone with our beloved, Ms. Rightwing! Though she is still in the hospital, she is on the mend…just bored. She had an M.S. relapse and is undergoing (massive) steroid therapy. She gave me permission to pass on the news. I assured her she will remain in our prayers and sent our greetings and good wishes. She is looking forward to being discharged Friday or Saturday.
22 gafisher // Aug 6, 2008 at 4:17 pm
In light of his startlingly commonsense solution to the energy issue, perhaps the presumptive Democrat Presidential candidate should be honored with a moniker on the order of Dwight “Ike” Eisenhower or Andrew “Old Hickory” Jackson. Commemorating the sound of tires being inflated, an appropriate and natural choice might be “Barack “Hissin’” Obama.”
23 Hawkeye // Aug 6, 2008 at 4:23 pm
UNL,
Thanks for the good news about Ms RightWing…
Prayers goin’ up Ms RW!
24 Hawkeye // Aug 6, 2008 at 4:24 pm
Welcome home, Mig!
25 Libby Gone // Aug 6, 2008 at 6:17 pm
Perfect Scott!
It is the truth.
26 da Bunny // Aug 6, 2008 at 7:17 pm
mig #18, yes stock up on the apples. You’ll never have to worry about rising healthcare costs, again! [Welcome home!]
upnorthlurkin #19, why worry about heating your home?
Hussein’s Helpful Hints #4: Put on a sweater!! [a la Jimmy Carter] And, maybe an extra pair of socks. Drink some hot coffee/tea/chocolate. “Cold? What cold?,” you’ll be saying, as you go about your day.
HHH #5: Remember that “a smile is a frown turned upside down.” Smiling will bring warmth into your life! No need to run the furnace.
27 da Bunny // Aug 6, 2008 at 7:23 pm
Btw, upnorthlurkin, that $3.49 sounds more appealing to this SoCal resident, where we’re still at just over $4.00/gal for regular unleaded.
28 nylecoj // Aug 6, 2008 at 7:23 pm
Thanks fo rthe update UNL

Obama Admits to Oil Addiction…
Aug 6, 2008 at 10:20 am #69
JL3,
Listen up!!!!
Solution to the troll problem :Don?t read his
posts and don?t respond to him.
Now ?git yourself back to SF,? NOW!
Besides,we will miss you.(God Bless America)
Ahh….yeaahh…
The way I look at it, you haven’t taken into consideration the few people left who actually read this site, BUT who don’t bother commenting because it’s deemed useless.
Well, I’m sure there are a couple of people out there who simply visit to watch the spirited debate between ET and the rest of you. I would guess if that were to disolve; so would this site (your neo-con closet hideaway). Oh, what would you do with your time?
So….I would suggest you might try to actually debate ET with logic. It’s soooo disappointing to see you give up so easily. Try harder, you might succeed. The world IS watching.
I think it’s unanimous, ET won that last string hands down. You neo’s really have some ground to make up. C’mon Maggie, my friends around the world are looking for a REAL educated response from you.
Time fly’s when your having fun. Bye again for probably ever. By the time I check back in, Obama will probably be President and Bush might be in jail. Y’all have a wonderful election season.
30 JamesonLewis3rd // Aug 6, 2008 at 8:36 pm
Okay.
I’m sorry for making a scene. I admit I lost it.
UNL got in touch with me this morning. That along with the other comments posted today really touched my heart.
Thank you, everybody.
31 camojack // Aug 6, 2008 at 9:14 pm
Someone should forward a copy of that editorial to Barack Hussein Obama, Jr.
It really is quite good…

JL3, Yea!!
Camo - Yeah (or up here, ya!)
