Deal: MI, FL Delegates Seated with the Other 55 States

(2008-05-22) — Sen. Barack Obama has finally agreed to Sen. Hillary Clinton’s demand that delegates from Michigan and Florida be seated at the Democrat convention in violation of party rules, on the condition that the votes of “disenfranchised delegates” from the seven remaining states also get counted.

“Our objection to seating the illegal delegates, of course, had nothing to do with the rule of law,” said Sen. Obama, “but it came from a sense of fairness and justice — a moral imperative if you will — that voters from all 57 states in which I campaigned should have a place at the table.”

Sen. Clinton who won in Florida, where Sen. Obama did not campaign due to party rules, and also won in Michigan, where her rival’s name did not appear on the ballot, expressed relief today.

“Finally,” she said, “the glass ceiling of rules and ethics which has held women down for decades has been broken.”

Democrat National Committee chairman Howard Dean, who brokered the deal, said, “As always, the Democrat Party will pull together and set aside our differences to capture the White House just as we have done twice in the past 40 years.”

Mr. Dean added, “All that remains to be decided is how to appoint delegates from seven more states without offending the other 20 European Union members.”

    Perfect! I’d be happy to vote for B. Hussein Obama, if he was running for president of Iran; he would never do that though, because the current president of Iran is Mahmoud Ahmadinejad and B. Hussein would never run against his best buddy, (it just wouldn’t be kosher, you know?)

    Maybe he could go down and run against President Hugo Chavez of Venezuela. Now that would be interesting ( to say the least).

    Yesterday I saw a cartoon that showed President Bush wearing a lapel pin flag, upside down. My first and only thought was “I love it!”

    I like President Bush’s upside down flag of distress lapel pin better than the surrender pin that Dingy Harry (Reid) wears on his lapel-(in his innermost thoughts) “Nothing, on a field of purest fresh snow.” (and what’s worse is that he’s proud of it!)

    Let’s assume BO picks Edwards as his running mate…since BO says there’s 57 states, and John Edwards says there’s two Americas does that mean there would actually be 114 states?

    They can’t count states or countries, how can they be expected to balance the federal budget?

    So far both Obama and Hillary have demonstrated a startling inability to count. If those two ever did form a “dream ticket”, I’m afraid their campaign signs would read, “Obama-Clinton ‘11″.

    JS #17 - thanks, I read right over that and missed it. I guess EVERYBODY’S a Union Member…right? The way the Liberal/Socialist Party kowtows to Europe one might just consider Europe to be “East USA” or would the USA just be “Western Europe”?

    I no longer recognize Rep or Dem I vote Rep since I need a handle but to me there are still two parties (1.) The Conservative/Constitutional Party and the (2.) Liberal/Socialist Party. Since I find most of the Conservative/Constitutionalists in the Republican Party, that’s the current “handle” I must use. Since the Liberal/Socialists are in the Democrat party, they are the ones I must attack! All of the former RINOS are in the #2 party. While former conservative Dems are in the #1 party ala Joe Lieberman, Senator from Connecticut, I agree with Rush, “When Conservatives attack, we always win.”

    Come to think about it, there have been numerous Republican losses over the years but with the exception of Barry Goldwater (and I’m not totally sure about him) I cannot recall a single Conservative loss in my lifetime.

    The only way Conservatives can lose is to become complacent, fail to attack and underestimate the attacks of the Liberal/Socialists.

    The only way the Sodomites have gotten to where they are is by constantly attacking. They accept defeat, regroup and come back with a new attack. Another defeat, a new attack. Another defeat, a new and different attack,

    Someone wrote, (I forget who) “There are no impregnable fortresses, only those ineptly attacked.” The Conservatives grow complacent, the Libs sense a weakness and attack.

    The Commies have been playing that game throughout most of the 20th century.

    The time is ripening for an all out attack by the likes of Jim Inhofe, Duncan Hunter, etc. The libs won’t really fight (put on a show of course but that’s all).

    The majority of Americans are conservative.

    “Party rules” is such a gag-inducing misnomer to the extent that, in the context of the Democrat party, it is actually a better definition of Mealy-Mouthed Hypocrite. Yippee! It’s all about me! It’s a free-for-all! No, it’s all about me! Me! No, me! No, me! Wheee!

And, with him running off his mouth about how we “can’t eat as much as we want, keep our thermostats at 72 degrees, and drive our SUV’s, and have the rest of the world say it’s ‘OK’,” I just wonder what he’s running to be president of…the UN? The world? How anyone can consider voting for this naive Marxist elitist is beyond all reason.

    The death of 5 year old Maria Chapman is a horrible tragedy. I pray for God’s comfort for the Chapman family in these trying times,.
