Obama Unveils Jobs Plan for Bitter Rural People

by Scott Ott for ScrappleFace · 48 Comments · · Print This Story Print This Story

(2008-04-12) — Senator Barack Obama today announced a plan to employ millions of bitter, small town Americans who, in their anger over jobs lost in the 1980s, have turned to guns, God, and xenophobia.

Campaigning in Pennsylvania, Sen. Obama said his new proposal addresses remarks made this week at a San Francisco fundraiser, during which he said, “You go into these small towns in Pennsylvania and, like a lot of small towns in the Midwest, the jobs have been gone now for 25 years and nothing’s replaced them. And they fell through the Clinton administration, and the Bush administration, and each successive administration has said that somehow these communities are gonna regenerate and they have not. And it’s not surprising then they get bitter, they cling to guns or religion or antipathy to people who aren’t like them or anti-immigrant sentiment or anti-trade sentiment as a way to explain their frustrations.

The presumptive Democrat presidential front runner said his plan would employ “these Archie Bunker-type people” in government programs “to register and/or confiscate inappropriate personal firearms, to monitor churches for hate-speech about homosexuality or abortion, and to build tax-funded housing for low income illegal aliens.”

“Twenty-five years is a long time to wallow in bitterness like our friends in Pennsylvania, the Midwest and elsewhere have been doing,” said Sen. Obama, “So, until the steel mills can all be converted to casinos and re-opened, we’ll provide good government jobs at high wages that will soothe the rage, and help to re-educate these small-town folk.”

Great, more re-education camps. Like the projects, public schools and universities aren’t enough.
Isn’t it interesting that the war on terror has a price tag; the freedom of people and the democratic movement is limited to a check balance but the re-education process of Americas’ Revolutionary ideas has endless funding.

Wouldn’t it be interesting if your taxes came with a check box that asked where you wanted your funds would go and how much of those funds could go into each catagory. Now that is taxation with representation.

I should cling to Reid and Pelosi and give up Jesus Christ? Is Obama really the best hope for this country? I don’t dispute that he is all about change. He’ll take every nickle you have and then ask for a pint of blood.

“And it’s not surprising then they get bitter, they (white country folk) cling to guns or religion or antipathy to people who aren’t like them or anti-immigrant sentiment or anti-trade sentiment as a way to explain their frustrations.” Barack Hussein Obama

Yep, that’s gonna win the hearts and minds of rural voters. Obama is so sensoootive and brilliant. I wonder what his clever stand is on white trailerpark trash?

Actually, on second reading, it sounds like Obamalamadingdong is describing the six thousand like-minded kooks who sit in the pews at former black nationalist “Reverend” Wright’s Trinity Church of Black Hate and Conspiracy Theories. Has anyone else picked up on Alicia Keys recent whacked out black conspiracy theory? It seems, in her world, black gangsta rap is a white recording industry conspiracy to get blacks kill one another. I guess what the KKK wasn’t able to do (kill tens of thousands of black men every year), clever white conspiracists in white shirts were able to get black men to do themselves! Yep, white liberals and black liberals sure are a reality-based community.

    A. I live in the Dirty Old Factory town and there still is no good paying jobs-but then that is Ohio’s problems.

    B. Except for a few times in my grown-up life I chose to live in small rural towns where we did not cotton to dirty old factories. (Does cotton sound rural ’nuff)

    C. Ironically he forgot to mention his partner in thought, Jimmy Carter, who all but destroyed the rural economy and way of life throughout the Midwest with all his humanitarian grain embargoes.
I bet he killed a lot of communists with that idea.

    D. Carter’s legacy still continues to destroy the trucking industry with high taxes on fuel, tires and equipment.

    E. So, Obama, we don’t want your stinkin’ ideas, so go back to Chicago and work out your own head first.

This hilarious translation from libertarian Glenn Reynolds of Instapundit regarding Obamalamadingdong’s liberal elitist comment about rural folk:

“Vote For Me, You Corncob-Smokin’, Banjo-Strokin’ Chicken-Chokin’ Cousin-Pokin’ Inbred Hillbilly Racist Morons.”

    Yeah, that’s the ticket.

BTW, isn’t Obama one of those limousine liberal millionaires who regales the rest of us corncob-smokin’, banjo-strokin’ morons how his underpriveleged life was a living hell because he used to pick cotton when he was ten years old? That may also explain why his wife Michelle hated America … that is until her brilliant husband - who sat through ten thousand hours of conspiracy ladened sermons without hearing his “Reverend” ever speak a foul word about “God damn(ing) America” - began running for the highest office in the land.

Can you imagine what the New Testament would have been like if Jesus had the same attitude as “Reverend Wright”? Instead of a victory message where Messiah suffers the poisonous lies of his generation and ultimate triumphs in His supreme sacrifice of life, the four Gospels would have been one long diatribe about the victimhood of man and how it was a “white Roman’s world” with the Joooooooo bankers screwing everyone over for a buck. No victory … all victimhood, class envy and harboring resentments. That’s the real legacy of black and white liberal elitists - everyone’s a victim (excepting evil Republicans and conservatives, of course) … but in a world of victims no one is a victim since no one has the right to say their victimization was any more unjust than the next person’s because that would be victimizing those you’ve just judged as not being sufficiently victimized. So let’s eat, drink, steal, kill, sing gansta rap songs and be merry for tomorrow we all die “victims of society”.

The argument that the racist or murderer is just as much a victim of society as his victim is the flip-side to modern liberalism’s dogma of universal victimology, that is if pointy-head liberals had the courage to see the damage their victimology rant has wrought among some people.

I am assuming that John Sydney McCain III’s people are documenting (with the shutter-clicking fervor of a criminalist) all of this knee-deep spoor that Democrats are leaving along the trail for presentation come September/October.

If Logic were employed, it seems to me that dissemination of such a chronicle would be enough to make John Sydney McCain III a hands-down, odds-on, shoo-in without uttering a word but, alas!

Victor Davis Hanson fisks Obamadumdum in his, “The McGovernization of Obama”:

    3. “They cling to guns or religion”.
This is revealing for two reasons: One, Obama has been trying to finesse his position on guns to appeal precisely to gun owners and thus we start to see that his repositioning is cynical to the core. Two, “cling to religion?” No rural Pennsylvanian clings to religion more than Obama himself, who for 20 years sat silent in the pews, while a hate-spewing minister damned his country and most everyone else. The question is not why Pennsylvanians “cling to their religion”, but why do the Obamas still cling to the Trinity Church that seems far more extreme than anything I’ve seen in rural America.

    4. “antipathy to people who aren’t like them”—as in the case of Rev. Wright’s views of Jews, whites, Italians, or Americans in general? In short, Obama accuses rural Pennsylvanians of a racism that they haven’t expressed while “contextualizing” the racism that his own Rev. Wright has.

Amen! It sounds like Obamalamadingdong is engaging in more of his elitist liberal projecting, ascribing his own condemnable faults on those that he secretly despises. And this from a man who wants to bring “change” and create a more harmonious and tolerant America. What a contemptible liar.

Romans 6:20~~When you were slaves to sin, you were free from the control of righteousness.

Barack apparently doesn’t take religion, his own or anyone else’s, too seriously. It’s not a search for truth or an attempt to live in accordance with God’s word. Then will they call upon me [Wisdom] but I will not answer; they will seek me early and diligently but they will not find me.
Because they hated knowledge and did not choose the reverent and worshipful fear of the Lord,
Would accept none of my counsel, and despised all my reproof,
Therefore shall they eat of the fruit of their own way and be satiated with their own devices.
For the backsliding of the simple shall slay them, and the careless ease of [self-confident] fools shall destroy them.
But whoso hearkens to me [Wisdom] shall dwell securely and in confident trust and shall be quiet, without fear or dread of evil.

Silly me, I thought it said “Osama Unveils Job Plans for Bitter Rural People.” Doesn’t matter though, at least with Osama you know where you stand. The declination of the steel industry was brouht about by environmentalists who saw evil in the smokestacks and through their minions in the government, made steel production a money loser in the US on a large scale.
I have my religion and you can have yours, but when a candidate for president has a hate-mongering racist jackass for a preacher, who btw just moved into a 1.3 million dollar home in a gated white community instead of the ghetto, that’s hyppocrisy to the Nth degree.
I don’t love my gun…its a tool with many uses. It can feed me, protect me and entertain me. All I need to do is maintain it for it to be ready for use. Of course liberals want guns banned, it helps their job security and leaves honest people defenseless against violent criminals but those criminals have rights you know…the right to rob, rape, murder you and not fear the death penalty. If getting locked up for life is so horrible, whydon’t we have some compassion and execute those on death row, easing their suffering.
There is a place for those bitter rural people, it’s called the military. Invaluable training for taking back your country!

JL 3rd #25 Reminds me of another passage that seems to relate to Obama (and all liberals) “innocent blood” may refer to the murder of little children bwo abortion. “,,,shall not know peace” records the fact that liberals are always angry at someone, something someplace never happy. Not knowing Jesus, they cannot find happiness, even in death. Their unhappiness only begins then.

Is. 59:1 Behold, the LORD’s hand is not shortened, that it cannot save; neither his ear heavy, that it cannot hear:
Is. 59:2 But your iniquities have separated between you and your God, and your sins have hid his face from you, that he will not hear.
Is. 59:3 For your hands are defiled with blood, and your fingers with iniquity; your lips have spoken lies, your tongue hath muttered perverseness.

Is. 59:7 Their feet run to evil, and they make hast to shed innocent blood: their thoughts are thoughts of iniquity; wasting and destruction are in their paths.
Is. 59:8 The way of peace they know not; and there is no judgment in their goings: they have made them crooked paths: whosoever goeth therein shall not know peace.

In 70 years, I have yet to meet a happy liberal. (I’m sure you’ve noted that our resident trolls are always unhappy)

That’s a multi-part trick question. First, the topic, the discussion, is definitely manmade. Second, except for the certifiably inane (Gore and citizens of his shadow government) even the chicken littles have retreated now from “warming” to mere “change,” a safe position if there ever was one. And finally, there’s the problem of defining just Who you mean when you say “God.” The modern, sophisticated “global whiners” have all but explicitly stated that climate change is the an angry response by Gaia and the nature gods to mankind’s refusal of the Olympian economic and social system.

But a good follow-up question might be, “Who started the ice ages?”

MISHAWAKA, Ind. - A political tempest over Barack Obama’s comments about bitter voters in small towns has given rival Hillary Rodham Clinton a new opening to court working class Democrats 10 days before Pennsylvanians hold a primary that she must win to keep her presidential campaign alive.

Obama tried to quell the furor Saturday, explaining his remarks while also conceding he had chosen his words poorly.

“If I worded things in a way that made people offended, I deeply regret that,” Obama said in an interview with the Winston-Salem (N.C.) Journal.

Yeah, I bet you regret showing your true colors Mr. Hussein Obama. But claiming your words were “poorly chosen”? Buwahahahahaha. Fred: My error in not designating the 2nd Amendment as the reason I can and do possess firearms. I didn’t mention it because here in the State of Kalifornia, any handun sold in the staewill have to identify it’s owner by microstamping ID numbers in the chamber and on the firing pin. Despite evidence that such markings can be easily removed, its now law.
You will be unable to hunt with lead containing bullets anywhere in the range of the California Condor, effectively eliminating the use of .22 rimfire ammunition. There is also another bill to restrict the amount, register the purchaser and purchase of handgun ammunition, making it illegal to transfer any to a relative or friend any ammunition of the 50 rounds you can possess legally!
We will die the death of a thousand cuts and never fire a shot in anger because when will the government take away that right to own a firearm you have no ammunition for and nowhere to go to maintain proficiency? Only with the support of the military in refusing to kill americans citizens and become part of the rebellion could a revolt succeed.
