(2007-09-05) — Sen. Arlen Specter, R-PA, announced Wednesday that he was honored to be named chairman of Sen. Larry Craig’s resignation exploratory committee.
Filing papers to form such a committee typically signals a politician’s intent to leave office if sufficient popular support can be found for the run.
The veteran Pennsylvania Republican struck many colleagues as an odd choice, since he had previously opposed Sen. Craig’s exit bid.
The Idaho lawmaker’s decision to tap Sen. Specter has led to speculation that, as one unnamed aide said, “this could be just another Larry Craig stall tactic.”

We wonder why our political system has a striking resemblance to the fall of the Roman Empire?
(at least I do)
The politicians we elect are too often the worst examples of the political problems in the flesh and it takes 2-4 years to get rid of them if we can at all!
GOD HELP US PLEASE!!!!

It sounds like Sen. Craig is tapped out.

Forget the official police report. We have video of what Sen Larry Craig actually did in the MSP airport men’s room. Admitedly unusual, but probably not illegal.

Oh, oh, the perky Katie Couric has admitted that there has been real progress in Iraq concerning security and stability issues. Is this an anti-Cronkite moment?
Conservatives could be in trouble since she’s now on the same page with us!
Just Ranting, I wonder if the vice squads are going to start arresting men for soliciting sex when winking at women or arresting women when they give that certain tilt of their head in response? I’m glad I’m happily married and don’t have to worry about the games people play … particularly when detectives are hiding in bathroom stalls.

Craig was just practicing a new dance step. He will try to get the charge reduced to “Disorderly Foot.”

Hopefully, Arlen will have the common sense to don latex gloves before commencing any “explorations” . . .

“Craig taps Specter”…”stall tactic”? OUCH!!!
I wonder when he’s going to think of the “restless leg syndrome” defense…

Well, all I can say is if that’s the stance he’s taking it’s a pretty wide one…

Ms Rightwing, Ink ~ Re #14:
Another article on it had this quote:
“We cannot be sure that this patient’s exposure to butter flavored microwave popcorn from daily heavy preparation has caused his lung disease,” cautioned Dr. Cecile Rose. “However, we have no other plausible explanation.”

Craig could still retain his seat, judging by the number of signatures on the partition.
Er, petition.
Anyway, he’s flushed out a lot of support.

What is it with this “Hokey Pokey”? (Or I almost landed in the pokey until I flashed my senatorial pass) “You put your right foot in/ You put your right foot out/ You do the hokey pokey/ And you shake it all about” Hmmmm… double entendre lyrics that only public restroom trysters understand, maybe?
Specter probably didn’t make the offer at the local YMCA. (I think that he is Jewish.)
Meanwhile, everyone is asking, “Where is Hsu?”

Scrawled at the bottom of the stall door:
Beware of Limbo dancing Senators!!!!!!!!
Wide stance—Excellent beerme….Wide enough to result in foot contact in a male restroom is ridiculous.
I could not imagine standing 2 minutes actually facing the crack in an occupied stall door. This must somewhat resemble what the Catholic purgatory must be like.
As an aside we once had a couple as neighbors who were named Scott and Charmin… We referred to them privately as the Toilet Paper People (TPP).

Oh Hilarious!! Yes, another committee. He must a Democrat!
24 conserve-a-tips // Sep 5, 2007 at 7:07 pm
Onlineanalyst: I overheard Arlen Spectator (relative of Scallopedtator) say, “If the Hsu fits, wear it.” But I think that he was referring to Hillary, not to his friend, Craig.
BTW, I heard that Craig’s new defense is that he was just out doing homework for the senate committee studying graft among Congressmen, but that he misunderstood, thinking that they said ‘graffiti’. Honest mistake.

Specter is going to head up exploratory committee? Apropos since this kerfuffle started in the head to begin with.

If it had been Barney Frank the Democrats would have awarded him the Good Citizenship Award for finding yet another way to “reach out” to a new voting bloc … you know, detectives with nothing better to do than lurking in bathroom stalls.
I always wondered who had the time to write all those clever poems like “Beneath the Grandstands” by Seymore Butts.

Sorry I’m late to the party… I hate when that happens!
If you haven’t read Ann’s latest column, (www.AnnCoulter.com) rest assured that it is well worth the read. She has an interesting perspective on the Craig coverage and a unique take on the hypocrisy aspect. Check it out.

Ann’s right (as usual), SnakeDoctor, but regardless of the so-called “hypocrisy” it’ll be tough for Craig to undo the damage he’s already done to himself.
