Gonzales Aide Quits to Star in 'CSI: Capitol Hill'

by Scott Ott · 20 Comments

(2007-04-06) — Monica Goodling, the senior deputy to embattled Attorney General Alberto Gonzales at the center of a storm of allegations about the firing of eight U.S. attorneys, today resigned from the Justice Department to pursue a career as an actress in an upcoming TV show called “CSI: Capitol Hill.”

The latest edition in the CBS family of Crime Scene Investigation shows ripped from the day’s headlines will go into immediate production and will rely heavily on C-Span footage of the various Congressional investigations either currently underway, or soon to begin.

Ms. Goodling, who previously said she would invoke her 5th Amendment right against self-incrimination if called to testify before Congress, predicted a smooth transition to her new line of work.

“I’m still going to spend my days in front of the cameras with people who pretend to be someone they’re not as they speak lines scripted for them by others,” she said. “Who cares whether that happens in a Hollywood studio, or in front of the Senate Judiciary Committee?”

    Yeah, how ’bout that?!

    Goin’ Hollyweird … figures.

Maybe the Senate Donks can subpoena an A-list Hollyweird actress to play Monica Goodling’s character in front of the sub-committee investigation. Everyone knows how Hollyweird actors and actresses are experts about all manner of things when they “get in character.”

Looks like Nan P. got one caught inthe ringer according to Drudge with her illegal trip to Syria. For over 200 years The Logan Act has been a big deal, but I’m doubting that there is anyone in Congress who will call her on it. The Logan Act proivides for prison and she certainly qualifies.

This is kind of interesting; as are some of the comments here.

    This “woman” is totally insane:

“Our message was President Bush’s message,” Pelosi said in a phone interview with The Associated Press from Portugal, where she stopped briefly en route back to the United States.

What’s next? Hillary Clinton, (when she has to leave the race for President), starring in a show about the first woman President?

Oh, wait——that was already done and failed too!

Ambassador Rasoul Movahedian told the Financial Times newspaper in an article published Saturday that Iran had “showed our goodwill” by freeing the Britons.

“Now it is up to the British government to proceed in a positive way,” he was quoted as saying. “We will welcome in general any steps that could defuse tensions in the region.”

See? Iran is the “good guy” and Great Britain is the “bad guy”.

    “Goodwill” indeed.

This reminds me of B.Clinton “It depends what you define “is” as.”

This is a paraphrase of course. Too early in the morning. Need coffee.

    RIPPED FROM DRUDGE’S HEADLINES:

Sheehan: Democrats are betraying anti-war movement…
She’s just figuring that out? Democrats have not only succeeded in betraying those who just barely put Congress in their hands but also America in the face of an evil enemy.

Easter Bunny Bundles Up: Unusually Cold Just About Everywhere…
More evidence of Global Warming. Just ask Goracle.

Top Forecaster Blasts Gore on Global Warming; ‘a gross alarmist’…
Say it ain’t so! Goracle would lie and embellish the truth to get more face time and further enrichen himself in the process? Sheesh, who would have thunk it.

Jobless rate falls to five-year low…
Another sign we’re experiencing the worst economy since the Great Depression.

    Top Gonzales Aide Resigns…
More proof Gonzales did something illegal and Karl Rove masterminded the whole thing! Just think, if this had actually been unconstitutional Karl Rove and George Bush would be frog-marched out of the White House and would be rotting in a progressive re-education camp somewhere. We must continue speaking truth to power by supporting Senator Leahy’s Inquisition.

Yes, currently, there is, in fact, a light snowfall occurring here in Arlington TX.

This witch hunt needs to come to an end. Congress has much more important things that they should be trying to take care of than trying to invent a scandal to use to impeach the President. But no, everything they have done since they gained power has been to further that end. What a completely and utterly worthless bunch of people. It actually makes me wish the do-nothing Hastert/Frist Congress was still in there.

[…] Dr. Taylor, who helped set this site up with Scott Gosnell, and who is an all-around good guy who is best known outside of his campus as Poliblogger, would detest my long-time friend Chris Roach ’s views on the attorney firing scandal, in many ways “scandal“, du jour. […]
