Intelligence Analyst Challenges Good Friday 'Spin'

by Scott Ott · 22 Comments

(2007-04-06) — While Christians around the world gather for so-called “Good Friday” observances, an intelligence analyst studying primary source documents challenged the “irrational exuberance of the true believers,” and said his research to date indicates things did not go according to plan.

“At this point, you have a leader in whom a lot of people had placed their hopes, who failed miserably,” said the unnamed source who is in the process of translating and exploiting the documents. “There’s no progress — no movement at all. It’s a classic case of a bad plan, poorly executed. A rational person would ask, ‘What’s so good about it?’”

The source said that “while fanatics encourage taking a longer term hopeful view of the situation, and try to position the conflict as an epic struggle between good and evil in which good ultimately triumphs, the immediate reality on the ground shows the enemy has won, the plan lies in ruin and the way forward is blocked by an immovable obstacle. Any way you look at it, it’s a dark day.”

“You can call it Good Friday if you wish,” he said, “but that’s just spin. I can’t say it any clearer, ‘It is finished.’”

Yes, it should be called Bad Friday. The local Jooooooish governmental authorities conspired against an innocent man, dredging up neo-kkkons to provide false witness against Jesus. Soon its political implications spiraled out of control and soon encompassed the Roman governor himself, Pontius Pilate. Though he personally saw no guilt, Jesus was such a hot political potato he wanted to give him back to the Jews and let them deal with what he thought were merely religious issues. But then the Joooooish crowd began yelling Jesus taught He was the King and not Caesar. There were even whispered rumors that Jesus taught he was God incarnate! Another Judeofascist lie! At that point Pilate had no choice but to condemn yet another innocent man to death to satisfy the bloodlust of the Zionists.

Clearly it was a vast right-wing conspiracy to get rid of Jesus who taught that Gaia was everyone’s good buddy and that He/She would simply forgive everybody’s sin and everyone gets to go to heaven by mere fact of being created in the image of Gaia.

An innocent man was murdered this day nearly 1976 years ago which cut short a progressive ministry to petition Caesar for a welfare state, improve municipal infrastructure throughout Judea, to raise the standard of living, to educate the people about the carbon footprint they were creating with their woodfires and burnt offerings, and bear witness against Caesar and his legions for being little more than evil warmongering imperialists - a central focus of Jesus’ message to the poor.

Yes, Mother Earth had once again lost a great advocate for world peace and another innocent man’s life was totally wasted when one considers all the good he could have done if he had simply been left alone and lived to the ripe old age of fifty preaching about brotherly love, peace, and living in harmony with Gaia’s creation.

As we start organizing foodstuffs and table-decoration items for the movable feast that will be Easter Dinner at Goomp’s, Baby pauses in the aftermath of a good snort of catnip. It’s a classic case of a bad plan, poorly executed….

Messiah Jesus: Merely a good man, a madman, an accomplished liar/deceiver, or God incarnate?

This will be the most profound question ANYONE will face in this terrestrial sphere and the one inquiry unto which all mankind will held accountable before the Great Governor of the Universe. What say ye?

Good Friday in the first place wasn’t good. It was “God’s Friday” and Germans came to this country, they had and spoke of - “Gott’s Fritag” in time Gott became good, a misnomer. But it sounded good, although it was in direct contradiction to Scripture and the words of Jesus - like Jonah and the whale “three days and three nights” so Fri PM - Sun AM in the tomb, just won’t work

I used “Dogpile” (all I use anymore) and entered “Jesus wasn’t crucified on Friday” and verified that Jesus really died on Wednesday (which I already knew) and contrary to tradition, Mary went to the tomb while it was yet dark, so he didn’t arise on Sunday either. So do we look to an error in tradition, or look to God’s Word, for the truth.

It makes no difference to me which days we choose to celebrate and remember the Birth, Death and Resurrection our Lord Jesus Christ, so long as we do.

    Thank You, Jesus.
    Hallelu Yah!

Fred, don’t forget the Jews measured the day differently than we do … it’s the “evening and the morning”. It’s entirely possible when Holy Writ (which was written by Jews under the inspiration of YHWH) speaks of Jesus being three days and three nights in the earth like Jonah was three days in the belly of a “great fish” (not a whale), time was marked in this manner:

First “day”: Thursday evening and the High Holy Day Friday until 6:00 pm before Passover. Jesus died at roughly 3:00 pm Friday afternoon and was buried before Passover preparation ended at 6:00 pm. So the first day of Jesus death and burial encompasses an evening already past.

Second “day”: Friday evening to Saturday 6:00 pm. Passover is celebrated during this time.

Third “day” … Resurrection day: Saturday evening to Sunday morning. Mary approaches the tomb while it was still dark (John 20:1) Jesus is already resurrected and reveals himself to Mary possibly shortly after sun up since she had run back to Peter and the disciples to tell them of the huge stone had been removed from the mouth of the burial vault. Guards nowhere in sight. It may still have been dark since she first mistook the risen Savior as the “gardner” (verse 15). Or his countenance may have been changed since He was no longer flesh and blood but resurrected flesh and bone.

Technically Jesus was “three days and three nights” in the belly of the earth. Also, despite the Catholic and some Protestant confessions, Jesus never “descended unto Hell” to “lead on high the captives”. Jesus “descended to Hades”, the bi-part nether world where departed souls await resurrection and once there He led on high those righteous souls bought by His blood.

The Old Testament refers to this afterworld of “Hades” (a Greek transliteration from the Septuagint) as “Sheol” or grave. Which is why some Jews don’t believe in an afterlife at all, others believe there is a heaven for Jews but no hell and others are ambivalent about what the “bosom of Abraham” and being in the presence of YHWH is really like. The New Testament, of course, explains these details if one searches hard enough and makes reasonable extrapolations, but devout Jews obviously reject the NT as heretical and so cannot avail themselves of YHWH and His Messiah’s progressive revelation about the afterlife, the various resurrections (which Jesus was “the first fruit”) and the judgments before the Great White Throne and the Bema Seat of Christ.

KJV - Jonah 1:17 “…a great fish”. - Matt. 12:20″…a whale…” So I guess you pays your nickle and takes your choice. At the least it was big and a creature of the sea.

I heard one preacher say that in actuality, tracing Jonah’s route - to escape God, he made it to the south of Spain. Where he was swallowed around the Strait of Gibralter.

    Well said, Scott.

Satan and all the demons in hell were whoopin’ it up at the Lake of Fire Saloon on that first Good Friday. For good reason, too-the Holy One of God was dead and buried! “Ye-e-e-e-e-haw! Drinks on the house, and let’s party down!”, they rejoiced.

Alas, they forgot t’ read the rest of the story. On Resurrection Day, two short days later, everything went topsy-turvy-Christ, the Rock of Ages, topsy, and Satan and his minions, turvy. As “Dirty” Harry Callahan said in “Magnum Force”: “Man’s got t’ know his limitations.”

If you’ve repented of your sin and received Christ as Savior, for what would you trade that free (to you) gift of salvation? I wouldn’t trade it for anything. He took me from death to life in Him, He paid the penalty for my sin, and He vanquished the pretensions of Satan and his demons by His resurrection. My gratitude for His sacrifice will never cease.

If you haven’t yet made that decision, why not give the matter serious consideration? This weekend, thousands of churches across the country will be redeclaring this bedrock truth: You’re a sinner (as we all are), you can’t save yourself from your sin, and the only hope of escape is making Christ your personal Savior. You’re betting your life that He’s wrong.

Happy Resurrection Day (aka Easter) to all Scrapplers. He is risen, indeed!
