Secret U.S. Iraq Plan: Go Public, Go Home, Go Mecca

by Scott Ott for ScrappleFace · 45 Comments · · Print This Story Print This Story

(2006-11-20) — According to a newly pre-released secret Pentagon document, the U.S. military is considering three options for dealing with the situation in Iraq, dubbed ‘Go Public, Go Home and Go Mecca.’

The unnamed Pentagon official in charge of leaking national security secrets to the Washington Post said it’s possible that the U.S. could adopt some combination of the three.

He summarized the strategy options as follows:

1. Go Public: Consistently leak top-secret Pentagon strategy deliberations to the news media as a way of neutralizing the unfair “element of surprise”, and of building trust by being more transparent with the enemy.
2. Go Home: Remove the only reason for terrorism by bringing all U.S. troops back home, and also allowing all U.S.-trained Iraqi troops to emigrate to the U.S.
3. Go Mecca: Deal “head on” with the heart of the conflict, by amending the U.S. Constitution to bring it into compliance with Islamic Sharia law.

God bless Bush for asserting that there is no civil war in Iraq.

Might as well assert that the government’s scientists have confirrned that the Moon is indeed made of Cheddar Cheese !

There is no civil war in Iraq.

Unless your definition of “civil war” would include a war between rival gangs in one of the major cities here in the USA as such.

  • 5 Darthmeister // Nov 20, 2006 at 12:30 pm

Give you three guesses one guess what the cut-and-run crowd wants to do to turn Iraq into another bona fide Vietnam syndrome.

Ever since 9/11, the peace-at-any cost liberals have a deadly case of wish-fulfillment.

  • 6 Darthmeister // Nov 20, 2006 at 12:38 pm

JL3rd, what is happening in Iraqi is pure ISLAMIC SECTARIAN violence. I wish someone would explain to me how a “religion of peace” can involve itself not only in fraticide but also engage in violence against Christians, Jews, Hindus, Buddhists and pagans around the world explicitly in the name of Islam and Allah. It’s not even a nationalistic movement with secular aims.

Henry Kissinger is right, there is no conventional military solution when you have a bunch of Islamic nutbags running around killing everything in sight to advance their ideology of hate. The Iraqi people themselves and Islamic leaders must step forward and demonstrate to us that Islam can be a moderate religion in the 21st Century.

  • 7 Darthmeister // Nov 20, 2006 at 12:48 pm

How can there be “civil war” when there is little among Iraqi Muslims, past or present, which is even civil? This is pure religious sectarian violence being committed in the name of Islam. Even our own “Civil War” was more properly understood as a “War Between the States”, but I’ve given up hope that liberal trolls would exercise any honest nuance which runs contrary to their left-wing mantra. Calling it the “War Between the States” didn’t make that war any less bloody but it certainly gets to what the real issues were that eventually led brother to kill brother in some case … states rights, slavery, federalism, etc.

Trolls just love tossing around provocative and often pejorative terms without any facts to back them up.

  • 8 JamesonLewis3rd // Nov 20, 2006 at 12:54 pm

Well, Kissinger blabbing that “civil war” garbage to the BBC is just more of the same political drivel that got us into this in the first place.

I have NO respect for those politicians who go on self-aggrandizing foreign tours second-guessing our military commanders, undermining our efforts and demoralizing our troops. None.

Kissinger and Sheehan would make a great duo.

Our news outlets have more cameras and commentary on the imbecilic protesters than they do on the President or his goals for this trip.

The official language of Indonesia is Indonesian, yet many of the gigantic signs we see the “protesters” waving like maniacs are extremely legible, professionally crafted and written in English. Wonder why?

    This just in …
General McClellan is reporting that the Civil War in which we are engaged is unwinnable.
“Our alternatives are Go Big, Go Long (street), or Go Home”
Of course, with the Army of the Potomac sitting north of the Potomac facing the vanguard of the rebels in Virginia on the South, the option to go home is limited without the loss of the capital.

Go Big. General McClellan is willing either to wait for reinforcements or to have him and his troops eat themselves to enlargement in their present position.

Go Longstreet. Signifies that the Generals of the North and South should get together and decide the future of the nation.

Attempts to get comments from President Lincoln on this initiative were inconclusive.

Hmmmmm, looks like a new media narrative to usher in the coming Democratic utopia or else the lamestream media couldn’t keep the good economic news in their lockbox any more. Of course, any new jobs created during the Bush Administration offer little more than minimum wage while all the wonderful, high-paying jobs created during the Clinton Administration were outsourced to India.

“There is no civil war in Iraq.” So says the illustrious and learned JamesonLewis3rd !

I guess the moon is made of cheddar cheese in your view.

Funny, it looks like a civil war, it feels like a civil war, people are getting killed, kidnapped, and their pieces and parts blown all over Iraq on a daily basis.

They said that Vietnam was not a war. They said it was a ‘conflict’. How many thousands died horribly conflicted ?

Talk to the relatives and loved ones of folks who died. Do you think this semantic bulldung is meaningful to them ?

Don’t be a fool and get hung on Bushist semantics.

“… the real issues were that eventually led brother to kill brother in some case … states rights, slavery, federalism, etc.”

Are you deluding yourself Darthman ?

Kurds, Sunnis and Shiites want their rights as well and each group is doing everything possible to make sure that the other group does not get into a position to hold sway over them, such as the Sunnis held for many years. Not much different then the North vs the South. And then you have the outsider terrorists running amuck as well.

Seems to me if one State here was dictating to all the other states, civil war with all its murderous mayhem and violence would erupt here as well. Our civilized veneer is might thin !

  • 36 sturat // Nov 20, 2006 at 9:19 pm

Seems like the Pentagon is omitting the obvious Mickey D option: Go Large!

open up Baghdad to the capitalist franchising and everybody will be so busy chasing money or getting fat on burgers and fries they’ll ignore the political operatives (non-LSM would call them “terrorists”, but that’s such a pejorative term).

Actually, the money is on the “Go Rangel” option, draft all the eligible 16 - 35 year old Iraqi males into the Iraqi military. It’s called universal conscription. The only ones left will be terrorists, who by definition don’t wear uniforms, or swear allegiance to a country. Therefore, any male in Iraq not in the miltary would be fair game. Throw in the Republic of Korea’s military concept of summary execution authority for their commanders, and anyone showing insubordination toward the military will rapidly be dispatched to meet with Allah.
    Gotta love it.

    Re #34:

Let me see if I have this right. In Tulsa, the percentage of homicides that are gang related has jumped to 25% as have those in Oklahoma City. In Tulsa, the largest gang is the Hoover Crips, with over 1000 members, followed by the Neighborhood Crips and the Red Mob Gangsters. Oh yes, and while most of the gangs are black and hispanic, we can’t forget the Japanese Black Emperors. In 2002, there were only 7 gang related homicides. Today the numbers are as stated above.

In OKC, there are somewhere around 90 gangs that include over 5000 members. Just this past month, a group of gang thugs were driving down a street, shooting into homes and killed a little 9 yr old boy sleeping in his bed. Another 16 year old was shot dead two weeks ago, answering his door. The gang members hide and blend in with families and even innocent family members get taken out. The gang situation has even affected our beautiful tourist area, Bricktown.

So, I guess that I am to assume, by your definition, that we are in the midst of a civil war and the police should just pull out. Right. I am sure that you would say that until someone shot up your house.

If the Liberal Left is telling us the truth and they really want to “bring the troops home”, then I think they may have a problem with Germany, Japan, So. Korea etc. when all of the American troops pack up and leave their countries, along with the billions of dollars the troops will no longer be spending.

The bright side will be the hundreds of thousands of troops that will now be available to create a human wall along our currently borderless border to the South. They might extend the troops’s tour of duty to expire only they become a certified “Ace” (5 confirmed kills). They would also be poised, if there are any complaints, to acquire Mexico as our most southern state, so they could all begin paying into Social Security plus Income tax.

This will also provide a few hundred thousand troops to one by one inspect each and every cargo container before it’s off loaded in America.

If they bring the troops home they must bring all of the troops home.

Good point Fred. I like the border idea.

I just wonder, if we do leave Iraq to become the death camps of Cambodia, Laos and Viet Nam, and the Islamofascists then attack our country in a way that makes 9-11 look like a picnic, will that be Bush’s fault too? Inquiring minds and all that….

    Fred Sinclair~~

It means that the underlying code for this page has an error in it. Usually, a missing piece of punctuation (opening or closing quote or bracket) will cause a portion of that code to show up on the page. In this case, the error is not serious enough to cause this page to be messed up (except, obviously, for the aesthetically annoying bit of gobbledygook).

If you would like to see what the code for this page looks like, right click on a blank spot on this page and click “View Page Source” or “View Source”.

I think, in this case, the error is on another page (apparently the code that links to the database) associated to this one because I do not see the error referred to in that bit of code up there.
