San Francisco Dumps JROTC, Adopts GayROTC

by Scott Ott · 44 Comments

(2006-11-15) — The San Francisco School Board last night cut off funding for a Junior Reserve Officers’ Training Corps (JROTC) program that served 1,600 students in seven high schools, because board members said it promoted the U.S. military, which discriminates against homosexuals.

In place of JROTC, the district will institute a new character development program called GayROTC, which supporters said has many of the positive elements of the old program, “without the dangerous, radical agenda that leads youth toward a self-destructive lifestyle,” according to board members Dan Kelly and Mark Sanchez.

“School needs to be a safe place for kids,” said Mr. Sanchez. “Parents shouldn’t have to worry that their children are going to be influenced by some creepy military officer teaching them things that hurt others and could lead to their own deaths.”

Mr. Kelly agreed, adding, “For 90 years, JROTC was just one long commercial for the Army.”

“During that time America has engaged in two world wars because we raised generations of youth to think war is the answer,” he said. “GayROTC is a peace program that focuses on building bonds of love and fellowship among men, women and others. It’s more in concert with the values of San Francisco parents.”

Mark Steyn’s book “America Alone” paints a vivid, verbal picture of what San Francisco (and the rest of America, for that matter) could look like in a few years if America continues along it’s present pathway. [Oh my!!! That couldn’t happen here!….. BUT IT IS!!!]

Just a couple thoughts from the previous thread; Republicans had twelve years of being the majority to become corrupt and some of them obviously did. Some in the leadership were accused of being unscrupulous, whether they were or not, that’s just the Democrat playbook. And some were legitimately iniquitous. There is no way to whitewash that… and we shouldn’t.

It looks like the Democrats are jealous because it appears that they are trying to get a head start on corrupt leadership by appointing tainted people right from the start.

Republicans started out as reformers and grew into corruption. It looks like the Democrat version of reform is to start out corrupt. Saves time I guess.

Correction to #8. First line, third paragraph should read, “Republicans started out as reformers and descended into corruption”.

GayROTC skips to the drumbeat of Mr Rogers theme song “It’s a Wonderful Day in the Neighborhood” and “YMCA”.Pee Wee Herman has been selected as it’s Commander.
Note:No need to ask,you can just tell.

“This is my rifle, this is my gun, this is for throwing away and this is for fun!”

“GayROTC is a peace program that focuses on building bonds of love and fellowship among men, women and others. It’s more in concert with the values of San Francisco parents.”

Scott, by “others” did you mean transgendered, bisexual, and pedophiles? Pretty inclusive bunch, I’d say.

Theme song for the new GayROTC: Roberta Flack’s - “Killing Me Softly With His Song”.

Maybe some enterprising Scrappler can come up with the new lyrics.

mig, Pee Wee Herman as commander? Buwahahahahaha! And the local art theater can be their HQ.

GayROTC? Why would a gay officer be reserved? I thought they were garrulous, more often than not. You’d think the training program would reflect that…

Hi, my name is Percy Dewpedew and I am your highly trained Streetcar Captain. Welcome aboard and lets go. Remember your city is safe as long as your GayROTC is in charge.

Hi, my name is Francis Bilgewater and I am the General of Coin Takers here at the Golden Gate Bridge. Do you dare argue with me honey. Look I was the top female GayROTC graduate. Now. step back and shut up or I will slap you silly, civilian

  • 16 Darthmeister // Nov 15, 2006 at 9:42 am

I guess the GayROTC will start up their special SS S&M branch. They will truly be a formidable force in converting the world to their way of thinking.

From the halls of San Francisco,
    to the shores of Malibu;
We will fight our movement’s battles
    On air, on land you’ll see;
First to fight the right and bleeeeed ‘em,
    And to plead our cause with screams;
We are proud to claim the title
    of United States Gayrines.

*Marines, please forgive me for such blasphemy.

Kris Kristofferson once wrote, “Freedom’s just another word for nothing left to lose.” The context of the song makes his meaning clear but in today’s LLL/MSM world it has been given a different, far more insidious meaning.

Today’s Leftists define freedom as “just another word for nothing left to lose” and they’re out to make it so. For them, freedom is defined as the opportunity to impose their will on others; to restrict what others may think, do and say. For them, freedom is a world that revolves around them. For them, freedom means nothing. For them, “Life, Liberty and the Pursuit of Happiness” is a frivolous concept.

Please don’t group Rice-a-Roni in with Ms. Pelosi. It is a delightfully easy and filling meal, and it has kept many a bachelor alive against dangerous odds. I myself owe my life to Rice-a-Roni and Top Ramen.

Soldier on, dear dehydrated food packets; soldier on.

Oh, and regarding the GayROTC: One small step for San Francisco, one giant leap for human depravity.

It’s sad that I couldn’t quite tell if this was a satire. San Francisco has become a parody of itself.

  • 23 Shelly // Nov 15, 2006 at 11:41 am

Oh, my. Well what do you expect from a city where some people actually walk each other on leashes? Considering the source I hope the fine men and women of our military and ROTC programs realize what high praise this is.

  • 24 JQ // Nov 15, 2006 at 11:54 am

When did we get to the point where raising kids with a respect for our armed forces was a bad thing? Where are we going to find the soldiers of tomorrow if we discourage those who want to learn to serve now? They’re acting like we’re enlisting 6 years olds and sending them to Baghdad; sheesh.

My little brother joined the CAP (Civil Air Patrol, a civilian branch of the Air Force) when he was 10 or 11 as a sort of alternative to the Boy Scouts. They taught the kids such things as morse code, marching steps, proper uniform etiquette, flag folding, signals, etc; he even went away to “boot camp” for a week. They never hurt or abused him, and he came out of that program as a real man at the age of 12. You’ve never met a more polite, mature, intelligent, or well-adjusted kid in your life. He’s currently a 17-year-old graduate student at Eastern Washington University, teaching classes to help w/ tuition. He has his bachelor’s degree and is working on his master’s, possibly a PhD after that. He speaks Japanese more fluently than some native born Japanese, and is the most open-minded conservative I know. Oh, and he’s an awesome skateboarder who loves to rock out on his guitar (albeit w/ Japanese lyrics), so he hasn’t lost touch w/ his youth.

Why do I bring this up? Because he’s living proof that those pre-military programs are an excellent way to shape kids into mature adults without forcing them into a military life. It gives them an alternative to gangs and peer groups that enforce bad behavior. The San Francisco school board, in their WILL FUL IGNORANCE (”Hey, that’s OUR catchphrase!!”), have just sentenced a countless number of kids to a directionless existence. Bravo, Col-ee-forn-ee-uh; bravo.

Government schools get government funds and government programs. If SF kicks out government programs does SF loose government funds and then close government schools? Might not be a bad trade off.

Also, in case you’re interested in such things: The Combating Terrorism Center at West Point has released the Militant Ideology Atlas, an in-depth study of the Jihadi Movement’s top thinkers and their most popular writings. This is the first systematic mapping of the ideology inspiring al-Qaeda.

“Toys for Tots rejects talking Jesus dolls” (http://www.cnn.com/2006/US/11/14/toy.jesus.ap/index.html)

“…As a government entity, Marines ‘don’t profess one religion over another,’ Grein said Tuesday. ‘We can’t take a chance on sending a talking Jesus doll to a Jewish family or a Muslim family.’”

Why are we sending Jewish or Muslim families CHRIST-mas presents? Besides, of the 5 dolls available, 3 would be perfectly acceptable to practising Jews (Moses, David, Esther).

(Not that I wouldn’t rather get a bike for Christmas, but hey, these were FREE DONATIONS!!)

  • 32 JQ // Nov 15, 2006 at 1:15 pm

Sorry, that should be “practiCing Jews”.

It’s been a long time since I posted here; I can’t remember how to translate HTML tags into ScrappleFace tags. Would someone mind reiterating how to post links, format text, etc?

“Helloooooo, ‘Friscoooooooo” [in my best gay-guy voice] GayROTC…so many things come to mind, NONE of which can be posted here. Time to pull ALL military installments out of the SF Bay area, and let these “poofs” provide for their own defense.

OT, some guy just called up Rush and said to change the name of the US Capitol Dome to the “Leaning Tower of Appeasement.” [now that it leans to the left…]

This is the best site for HTML tags. It’s one of the simpler ones I’ve found.

  • 35 Darthmeister // Nov 15, 2006 at 1:46 pm

Hmmmm, I guess it does. I wonder if this also works?

  • 37 Darthmeister // Nov 15, 2006 at 1:48 pm

Nope, the blink HTML tag doesn’t work here but the strike through does.

  • 38 JQ // Nov 15, 2006 at 1:58 pm

Thanks, Darth, but I already know HTML tags; I’m a part-time web developer. My question is, how do we translate them to ScrappleFace? I remember that we did something w/ “[]” instead of the traditional “”. I didn’t want to waste comment space on testing, but here goes:

    Italic
    Italic

  • 39 JQ // Nov 15, 2006 at 2:00 pm

Wow, we’re using straight HTML tags now; good to know…

Sorry for the interruption folks; we now return to our regularly scheduled political satire…

    Installment:

2 a : one of several parts (as of a publication) presented at intervals b : one part of a serial story.

    Installation:

1 : the act of installing : the state of being installed
2 : something that is installed for use
3 : a military camp, fort, or base
