$11,000+: ScrappleFace Readers Back Prayers with Giving

by Scott Ott · No Comments

THE FOLLOWING POST IS NOT SATIRE…

As of 7 a.m., December 31, ScrappleFace readers have used a PayPal button established by the Bible Fellowship Church Board of Missions to contribute $8,459 to help the people of the earthquake/tsunami-stricken region.

In addition, at least two ScrappleFace readers report mailing $1,000 checks to Samaritan’s Purse and Southern Baptist Disaster Relief. And many others have used credit cards to donate directly to those agencies online, or have mailed a check to …
SBC Disaster Relief
Box 6767
Richmond, VA 23233
.

This brings the known total from ScrappleFace readers to more than $11,000. Of course, many others have given without reporting a dollar amount. In addition, many continue to pray that the Lord will bring comfort and blessings to the survivors.

Many Christians want to follow Jesus’ teaching that charitable giving should not be done to draw attention to the giver. That’s why we’re focusing attention on the need and encouraging those who have not yet given to join in this outpouring of the love of Christ. With the death toll mounting well into six figures and the struggling survivors in the millions, the need has not abated. May the Lord continue to use us as instruments of His love and mercy. As you finish praying, please use the button below to express your faith with deeds.
