Fitzgerald: Who Leaked Google Classified Ad Service? by Scott Ott (2005-10-27) -- In an effort to produce "some kind of result" after two years of investigating who leaked the name of CIA operative Valerie Wilson, special prosecutor Patrick Fitzgerald today announced formation of a new grand jury to probe who leaked Google's classified ad service. Numerous media reports of the secret project by the internet's number one search engine company appeared yesterday, despite the fact that the alleged new ad service was labeled "classified". "When a project is 'classified' that means no one outside of the organization is supposed to know about it," said an unnamed associate of Mr. Fitzgerald who spoke on the condition of anonymity because he could. "The grand jury will need to determine not only who leaked Google's classified ad service, but whether it's illegal to do so and whether any witness can be induced to make false statements during the probe." Meanwhile, New York Times reporter Judi Miller, upon hearing of the new investigation, surrendered to authorities at a Washington D.C. jail. Columnist Robert Novak, who publicly revealed Valerie Wilson's identity, remains at large. Donate | More Satire | Printer-Friendly | |
