NJ Gov. McGreevey Leaves Office with Mandate
by Scott Ott

(2004-11-08) -- New Jersey Gov. James McGreevey, whose adulterous homosexual affair with one of his highly-paid state employees forced his resignation, today announced that he leaves office with a "mandate."

"I no longer have to be shy about saying 'I have a mandate'," said Mr. McGreevey. "By leaving office, I'm able to boldly fulfill the will of the people."

The soon-to-be former governor said he will continue "to privately devote myself to that which I gave myself so vigorously while in office...you know, things related to my truth."
