Genocide Declaration Spurs UN to Send Troops to 1915

by Scott Ott for ScrappleFace · 52 Comments · · Print This Story Print This Story

(2010-03-05) — In the wake of a House panel’s 23-22 vote to condemn the Ottoman Turk empire for its alleged genocide against ethnic Armenians, the United Nations announced today it would send a multinational peacekeeping force to 1915 to monitor the situation.

“The global community must take a firm stand against genocide,” said an unnamed U.N. spokesman. “Our response will be swift, measured and effective.”

Turkey rejects the genocide accusation, claiming instead that Armenian Christians and Muslim Turks slaughtered each other in the wake of World War I. The Turkish government today withdrew its U.S. envoy for consultations after the House panel vote, and he immediately boarded a streamship for the arduous transoceanic passage.

Meanwhile, cable dispatches from Constantinople indicate that the genocide declaration was the talk of the day among street vendors and passing camel caravans in the nation’s capital.

Has Obama apologized to the Armenians yet?

For the "trip" will they be using the Delorian or the "Way-Back" machine?

If "Barry" COULD actually travel back in time he may want to rethink his DISRESPECT of our FLAG and TROOPS as seen here:

    http://www.youtube.com/user/jaycee628?feature=mhw...

I have seen the still of this before but this is the first time I have seen the entire "snub of our TROOPS" video. At the end, Barry claps but it is probably because it is now OVER and he can now focus once again on what REALLY matters, Mmmm, mmmm, mmm, Barack Hussein Obama !

  • 8 boberin // Mar 5, 2010 at 8:51 pm

Probably the "hot tub time machine" would be my guess.

Do you really think Obama doesn't like our troops? That seems a tad silly as they protect even him (and are kinda trained to do what he tells them and such) but you are entitled to that opinion of course.

I am mortified, to say the least. My blurt did not sufficiently convey that:
If I had access to a Wormhole with programmable vicinities, I would rather "explore" The Anasazi or the Pueblos Indígena en Perú, not Herod, Caligula, et al.

    PolitiZoid ==> OBAMAFELD
    I LOL

  • 13 RAM1 // Mar 5, 2010 at 9:17 pm

You can think it "silly" all you want, I do not believe that VERY MANY liberals "like" our troops, having been one, (a military Veteran), during the late 60's and early 70's that felt their BRUNT and looked upon as a "baby killer"!

At least Hillary ACTED like she has/had the respect that I find hard to believe she has of our troops in the video!

  • 14 boberin // Mar 5, 2010 at 9:20 pm

We've moved on just a tad from the 60's though…I'm sure of that

  • 15 RAM1 // Mar 5, 2010 at 9:21 pm

OBAMAFELD, VERY FUNNY, a Presidency about NOTHING!!!

  • 16 RAM1 // Mar 5, 2010 at 9:29 pm

Good for you! While "some" may have "moved on" from the 60's what Bill Maher said here recently pretty much sums up what MOST left wingers think about our troops:

    Those PJTV people…very funny.

  • 18 boberin // Mar 5, 2010 at 9:40 pm

If the people back home were clamoring to get me out of this pointless errand.

That's what got you worked up? It seems a genuine sentiment and not demeaning in any way. He's blaming those that sent them, not the troops?

  • 19 boberin // Mar 5, 2010 at 9:53 pm

I gotta go, please don't get all "twisted up/red faced" mad at me again. I was just making an observation, not attacking you in any way there Mr RAM

  • 20 RAM1 // Mar 5, 2010 at 9:53 pm

    You are kidding—right?

  • 21 RAM1 // Mar 5, 2010 at 9:54 pm

This may be their best yet!

  • 22 boberin // Mar 5, 2010 at 9:55 pm

You (and he/anyone) can't blame the troops for being on what they observe to be a pointless mission…so no, not kidding. The mission is not chosen by the troops…

  • 23 RAM1 // Mar 5, 2010 at 10:01 pm

MOST of the ones I have spoken to and emailed are PROUD of their mission and do NOT feel they are on a "pointless mission" as you call They were definitely treated better by the past President than they are by this one!

  • 24 RAM1 // Mar 5, 2010 at 10:22 pm

Not attacking you either, just "countering" your baseless argument MR, boberin!

  • 25 camojack // Mar 5, 2010 at 11:47 pm

A resolution to send troops back in time would be about as realistic as some of their others.

The Neuropsychology of Political Integrity is an article that explores cognitive input dichotomies. How cool is that?

On a more serious note: Time travel would require exceeding the speed of light at which time a human body would disintegrate and be scattered throughout the far reaches of the Universe. I know this because I tried it once.

  • 30 EdistoJoe // Mar 6, 2010 at 9:48 pm

Sending troops back in time? That's really not too surprising since Obama's approach to running the country is all "bassackwards" anyway.

  • 31 EdistoJoe // Mar 6, 2010 at 10:05 pm

    Ram:
I have a son in the Marines. He has served in Iraq and now in Afghanistan and I assure you they don't consider it pointless and your right, they are proud of what they do. You are also right that the Commander In Chief sets the tone on how the troops fell they are being treated.

Thank you for replying Joe. I sometimes wonder when I get in a "discussion" with the "left leaning" boberin, and NO ONE replies if they indeed agree with him or I.

Of course, it could be that other "Scrapplers" do not see the change in me yet that JESUS and GOD made about a month ago?

IF our troops, (or the MAJORITY of them), were on the side of the left, Obama, MAHER, the Dems wouldn't try so hard to deny their votes as they did in the 2000, 2004 and 2008 elections!!! They CERTAINLY wouldn't have voted OVERWHELMINGLY for Bush in 2004 and McCain in 2008 IF they thought their "mission" pointless!

I have to say, it is a little bizarre of boberin to challenge my opinion, (that "Barry" does NOT like our troops), and even say it is, "A tad bit silly", BEGGING for a reaction, and then when I give him an one, (that was thought out this time, and was in REAL TIME), he "QUITS" the discussion, and tells me to "not get mad at him again", trying to lead people to think I am picking on him, and painting himself as the "victim" again after STARTING the whole thing!!

The "left" has the "VICTIM CARD" down to a SCIENCE!!!

Want to bet this will get a reaction from him" lol

My thanks for FINALLY seeing things like this are THANKS TO MY GOD who WILL confound those "thinking" themselves wise"!

If the shoe fits boberin, try it on, my bet is it FITS you well!

  • 35 RAM1 // Mar 7, 2010 at 2:21 pm

One other item Joe, Having to go to the local VA hospital, (Richard Roudebush), I have noticed in the last year cuts in services to our Vets that a lot of people would not notice. I now have a harder time with getting RX's taken care of with my co-pays, longer times between seeing my doctor, (and she told me if may get even LONGER between visits)!

ALL of this tells me how much Barry, (and to be fair, the REST of the bureaucrats in D/C.) care about those protecting them!

It's time for reparations from the Vandals and the Goths. When the rapper Jay-Z (I had to be "schooled" about who he is and Beyonce were invited into the White House Situation Room and were photographed under the Presidential Seal, nothing is respected by the ObaMao Krew.

How many affronts to our national security will the American people tolerate?

  • 38 boberin // Mar 8, 2010 at 1:53 pm

I didn't "quit" anything…I do other stuff besides post here.

Joe, does your son feel Obama does not respect him? Honest question…does he? and either way…yes or no…why is that?

  • 39 boberin // Mar 8, 2010 at 1:54 pm

Any idea why posts seem to appear randomly (not in chronological order) these days? Just wondering…

  • 40 JamesonLewis3rd // Mar 8, 2010 at 2:11 pm

I haven't seen any posts either "appearing" randomly or "appearing" not in chronological order. Perhaps, if you were specific as to which posts are "appearing" of their own accord or—better yet—if you could post before and after screenshots of these alleged anomalies someone could explain to you what you think you are seeing/not seeing.

  • 41 boberin // Mar 8, 2010 at 2:27 pm

It's not every time but more than once it's happened. today when i logged on the first post was from 13 hours ago, then one from a day, then one from 15 hours…this is not an exact replication of facts…it's an approximation but again, more than once the first post I see is not the first post made…and yes I am aware of the "last activity" option…and it's similar to that (but not exactly) but that option was not chosen.

  • 42 boberin // Mar 8, 2010 at 3:47 pm

Could well be…I saw them close to reverse but not quite…of course

  • 43 ChileSerrano // Mar 8, 2010 at 2:24 pm

bob : I've seen the comments appear in reverse order once or twice … in other words, from newest (most recent) to oldest order, versus the "normal" oldest-to-newest order … as far as a reason "why"? My current theory : just to [bleep!] with your mind, dude …

    Buwahahahaha ! ! !

Maybe they should be in CONSTANT prayer asking why such a thing has happened to them and if not prayer for this, then maybe a prayer of THANKFULNESS that America is still sending help while they sit around getting high?

    Matthew 24:7 (King James Version)

7For nation shall rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom: and there shall be famines, and pestilences, and earthquakes, in divers places.

Perry Stone and others I have heard put this in context as "birth Pangs", while this was written several centuries ago, like a woman in labor, when you see these things happening more often and closer together, the time of JESUS return is VERY NEAR!!!

I address this to the those that consider themselves Christians as well as those that do NOT.

I believe that a lot or MOST will read this and then go about their daily life as usual while shaking their heads at what is going on , complaining, then DOING NOTHING about it!

SEEK GOD while there is still time, THAT is the most important thing ANY of us can do, it is why GOD created us, (for HIS pleasure, NOT ours), NOT to be famous or attain wealth!

    Good advice!

  • 51 onlineanalyst // Mar 10, 2010 at 2:20 am

Abraham Lincoln once asked an audience how many legs a dog has, if you called the tail a leg? When the audience said “five,” Lincoln corrected them, saying that the answer was four. “The fact that you call a tail a leg does not make it a leg.” That same principle applies today. The fact that politicians call something a “stimulus” does not make it a stimulus. The fact that they call something a “jobs bill” does not mean there will be more jobs. — Thomas Sowell
