C-Span Ban Protects Private Health Information

Today, the White House said President Obama’s alleged failure to keep an oft-repeated campaign promise to televise high-level health care reform negotiations on C-Span was necessary to protect the “private health information of the participants” under so-called HIPAA privacy rules.

The Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act of 1996 prevents unauthorized disclosure of patients’ health information, according to White House press secretary Robert Gibbs, “and this reform debate has already had serious health consequences for several members of Congress.”

We don't need C-SPAN to further reinforce the diagnoses of Congresspeeps. We already know what's wrong with them.

    Meanwhile, the dots get connected.

No…c-span…does anyone want to…never mind, it was a lame enough joke without an explanation but with one it'll be hopeless

C-SPAN2, which covers the U.S. Senate during the week, broadcasts "Book TV" on the weekend, which is often quite good. One up-coming offering which I personally would recommend : tomorrow (Saturday, Jan. 9th) morning from 9:00 AM - Noon, they will be rebroadcasting <a href="http://www.booktv.org/Program/11186/In+Depth+Michelle+Malkin.aspx">In Depth: Michelle Malkin. "In Depth" is an occasional series in which they conduct lengthy interviews with various authors.

    Worth watching. FWIW.

"so the negotiations should remain confidential… between the legislators and the health care experts who own them."

Great line Scott! And NOT satire, if I do say so. (:D)

    Does anyone really want to?

  • 12 RAM1 // Jan 8, 2010 at 8:05 pm

Is C-Span their grade? If so, it is a generous grade as was the B+ Obama gave himself as CIC!

I always thought a failure rated an F?

The backroom deals of Pelosi-Reid-ObaMao are bleeding out the economy, just doing what leeches from time immemorial have been known to do. All of their blood-letting is being done in the privacy of closed chambers.

  • 22 onlineanalyst // Jan 9, 2010 at 2:35 am

Well deserved and well done, Scott. Integrity and principles prevail.

  • 23 camojack // Jan 9, 2010 at 6:23 am

I diagnose them as psychopaths, to be perfectly honest, of the paranoid variety; enemies of the Truth.

Watching Pelosi as she recoils from the slightest hint of conservatism (let alone morality or ethics), I am reminded of Bela Lugosi, et al, when confronted with a Cross or Crucifix OR mirror OR daylight, et cetera.

Well, "Reid Repents for 'Negro' Remarks" say the headlines. I can't help but sense that Jake Tapper is suggesting that something Diabolical is at play.

The Internet is wonderful. We can see behind the curtain from here. The Internet brings us people like Scott Ott-among the several other Internet Greats-who relay that stark image to many who might never be aware—in a for real display of Truth, Justice and The American Way. God and Country. Patriotism. Jesus Christ. [UPDATE: I can hear eyeballs sizzling out there.]

I'm really am very proud to be starting this new decade here amongst The Scrapplers.

I'm waiting to see whether the MSM will dig up any remarks that Sen. Reid made about Trent Lott during the controversies that ensued after Strom Thurmond's 100th birthday.

OTOH, I'm not gonna hold my breath until they do …

    Turn, turn any corner.
Hear, you must hear what the people say.
You know there's something goin' on around here,
that surely, surely, surely won't stand the light of day.
And it appears to be a long,
    appears to be a long,
    appears to be a long
time, yes, a long, long, long ,long time before the dawn.

Hey, ObaMao, how about we "de-stimulate"? http://article.nationalreview.com/?q=ODRlZTZiN2Zj...

Or are we going to contine down Chavez's path of seizing industries and devaluing the currency? Chavez has devalued the bolivar by 50%. Meanwhile we have Fifty Cent in the WH pushing for programs that will bankrupt us.

Harry Reid stuck his foot in his mouth (again), but the responses to it are telling. Check out the blowback. Lt. Col. Allen West's response is masterful.
