With a recent Rasmussen poll showing a generic “Tea Party” candidate outpolling a generic “Republican” candidate by five points, Republican National Committee Chairman Michael Steele on Friday announced plans to negotiate an alliance with the chairman of the Tea Party.
“I have written a letter inviting the chair of the Tea Party to meet me at RNC headquarters, or perhaps a neutral site, to draft a peace treaty and formal alliance in order to defeat the Democrats in 2010 and beyond,” Steele said. “As soon as I find the name and address of their leader, I will FedEx this letter to him, or her.”

I know you meant this as satire Scott, but I would advise Steele to either do something like this or get off the same "high horse" that the Democrats are riding! They should contact Obama, I understand he has Glenn Beck's phone number and he has the phone right there on the set.
PS: When I get letters from the RNC, if I don't write them a "message" as to why they no longer get money from me, they go directly to file 13. AND, I don't have a problem telling their "phone volunteers" that I am fed up with BOTH Party's!
I WILL give monetary support to CONSERVATIVE candidates when I am able!!!

I think it's just GREAT that Republicans are starting to worry about the Tea Party movement. They SHOULD be worried.

If more Republicans would actually follow the principles they alleged espouse (Michael Steele included) then they wouldn't be where they are today.
