Obama Brings Afghan Strategy to Health Care Reform

(2009-12-02) — A day after a televised address about his plan to send 30,000 more troops to Afghanistan in order to bring them home again soon, President Barack Obama announced he would apply his Afghanistan war strategy to domestic health care reform.

“It’s important that we seize the initiative,” the president said, “and put the resources in place so that we can withdraw them in 18 months, leaving the uninsured with the capacity to take care of themselves, to buy their own health insurance on the open market.”

The president said he’ll commit 30,000 new bureaucrats to this effort, who will begin deploying in early 2010, to train the uninsured in how to buy health insurance, and to equip the unemployed to find work, or to start businesses, so that they, too, can buy health insurance.

The president said the entire objective of his health care reform plan is to “hand over responsibility to the people, and then get our government forces out of their lives as quickly as possible.”

This effort must be based on performance,” said Mr. Obama. “The days of providing a blank check are over. And going forward, we will be clear about what we expect from those who receive our assistance.

    Never happen…

But, the war choice must be the perfect plan because both the Democrats and the Republicans…hate it with a passion. Therefore it must be the perfect choice! Nice…

War is the only gov. program with an exit strategy. I missed the word victory and win in the speech last night.

What could ever constitute "victory" pray tell? Those words were missing for a darned good reason.

To me, victory is killing every taliban and al quaeda in the region and then leaving. It's possible. We just don't have the will to do it. The darned good reason those words were missing is "Progressives and Islamic fascists are evil twins borne of the same whore. They have similar goals and economic social structures, but differ only in their core religious beliefs. They are beyond reason and compromise in their goals of destroying Western culture, symbolized by Israel and America. They are uneasy allies for now, just as the Iranian communists and Islamist Mullahs were when they overthrew the Shah with help of anther Progressive known as President Jimmy Carter"-Jonah Goldberg

The dithering Democraps will delay the deployment until the withdrawal date. So the troops will get there just in time to help everyone there pack and move out.

    Simply amazing…truly stunning…I'm very, very impressed…honestly!

Wow, and it only took Obama 3 months to think of that strategy. I'm impressed… NOT! He could have done the same thing in 3 days. Then, he has the utter gall to suggest that our 30,000 troops have to get in there fast, like 6 months instead of the planned 12 months. If it took the military as long as it takes Obama to make a decision, we'd never get there!

If I wasn't so cynical, I'd say: "C'mon, you can't be serious." Unfortunately, I am that cynical… which means I agree with you 100%.

This Will Not End Well , by George Will.

Having vowed to "finish the job," Obama revealed Tuesday that he thinks the job in Afghanistan is to get out of Afghanistan. This is an unserious policy.
