Journalists across the nation, moved by the plight of a troubled Muslim psychiatrist whose “understandable emotional turmoil” broke out in gunfire last week at Fort Hood, Texas, will hold a major fundraising event in the coming weeks in honor of the accused shooter, Maj. Nidal Malik Hasan.

Nice one, Scott.
Some of the commenters over there at the Examiner found this believable—I wonder what that says about our state of affairs.

I don't know Scott. You deleted my comment the other day, no doubt for being insensitive about Fort Hood… then you write a satire on the very same subject? I think your article should be deleted. (Just kidding)

"We love death more than you love life" - Maj. Nidal Malik Hasan.
I can't get the "Allah is love" sticker he had on his car out of my mind. The god of this world is pleased when his followers expedite their trip to visit him in the pit of Hell. Allah is leading them to destruction and doom, how loving is that?

MKK: Hey if he really believes that, I "love" him enough to "love him to death"!!! In fact, had I been in the hospital ICU he was recovering in, he would have NOT recovered!!!
I think the thing that disturbs me the most as a Veteran, is that enlisted men, (such as I was) had to salute this #@*^%#$!!!!!!!
I blame the people that allowed/allow garbage such as him to wear our uniform! They do NOT have to make them soldiers. They can be civilians and do what he and others do.
Besides, whatever happened to the background checks they USED to do? I even remember the questionaire that asked about schools that were on the list that if you attended, you could NOT serve!

"We can't help but think how things would have been different if, instead of a handgun, Hasan would have had a press pass and a laptop computer," the group said. "He still could have accomplished his purposes, and he wouldn't be strapped to a gurney, fighting for his life right now. Rather, he could walk right into the White House or Pentagon press rooms and take the fight to the enemy like the rest of us do every day."
This is too close to the reality of the situation to be truly satire, sad to say…

Back in the Sixties, there was a popular graffiti (graffito?) that said:
Support Mental Health or I'll kill you !
I gotta hand it to you, Scott. It's really an accomplishment to keep on turning out satire every day in the teeth of a reality that is this twisted …

"The pen (laptop) is mightier than the sword (automatic handgun) in promoting and protecting dhimmitude?
How does our president feel about zealots "who cling to their Korans and automatic weapons"?
To paraphrase Hillary Clinton, "It takes a dhimmi to spread the word."

Jim Treacher said that Hasan raised more red flags than the Red Army brigade.

Iowahawk does a splendid spin on the journalists' efforts: http://iowahawk.typepad.com/iowahawk/2009/11/amer...
The sidebar accompanying photos are perfect, too.

Maybe your at-work computer filter prohibits certain sites. Truly there is nothing objectionable about this post by Iowahawk. It opened immediately for me when I clicked on it.

I could be wrong, for which I pre-apologize if necessary, but I think you meant to link to Iowahawk's Headline Roundup page.
Nevertheless, the link you supplied was interesting.

Thanks, JL3rd. That is the link that I meant. I dropped down too far to read the next post.

Look how long there have been questions about Hasan's mental fitness and inappropriate Islamic zeal: http://www.npr.org/templates/story/story.php?stor...
Fear of lawsuits and the idiocy of political correctness are hampering our national security.
