The pity re that airport in Johnstown is that the drive from Johnstown to DC is a little over three hours. Maybe if Mr. Pork Pie had a driver to take him to the Capitol Building, he could read some of the legislation in the back of his limousine.

The PMA investigation should shed more light on the kickback king.

I'm surprised Obama isn't a better earmarker than Murtha… I mean, he's got the ears for it. (:D)

Hopefully (yeah, right!) that ongoing ethics probe will unseat Murtha.

I'm not holding my breath waiting for that to happen, though…

There will soon be a mind-meld between the wannabe alpha dogs and TANSTAAFL.

Everyone will be shocked, shocked to find that such things are going on in here! Not.

It is actually one of the many beneficial side-effects.

I had not heard this story about a Murtha staffer threatening Bill Russell to call him up for active duty, but it doesn't surprise me in the least as Murtha is NOT a friend of our military! It is from May 2009:

PPS: I have contributed to more PA politicians than I have Indiana ones. I have given to Pat Toomey, Bill Russell, and Scott, (not easy on railroad retirement income but we HAVE to put a stop to "Business as usual" with ALL these crooks/thugs).

Maybe I should move to Indiana, PA? :-O

Those Murtha staffer threats to Bill Russell have been going on for some time. Though Russell is not in my district, I have met him at assorted local GOP functions, and he is a principled, fine man. Like you, I contribute to him and other conservative candidates around the country on my retirement income, too. What better way to assure our futures?

There A'int no such thing as a free lunch! (TANSTAAFL) Nice to know I was not the only one seemingly wasting my time reading Heinlen.

Scott, I tend to brush off and ignore too much praise and therefore in a classic case of transferance assume you do as well. I therefore avoid flattery for the most part, but I have to say bravo sir to you and your collaborator on the Real Members of Congress videos. Well scripted and well played. I almost sent the two nickles that I rub together to your campaign fund.

From the Nebula Award-nominated (1966) and Hugo Award-winning (1967) The Moon is a Harsh Mistress:
At one time kings were anointed by Deity, so the problem was to see to it that Deity chose the right candidate. In this age the myth is‘the will of the people’ … but the problem changes only superficially.” — Professor Bernardo de la Paz on the subject of choosing leaders.

A managed democracy is a wonderful thing… for the managers… and its greatest strength is a ‘free press’ when ‘free’ is defined as ‘responsible’ and the managers define what is ‘irresponsible’.” — … on the subject of free press.

There is no worse tyranny than to force a man to pay for what he does not want merely because you think it would be good for him.” — … on the subject of taxes.

Almost 20 years later (1984), Heinlein inspired me to read the Bible with Job: A Comedy of Justice.

We could really use a Roller Derby Arena in our town plus a Museum of Landfill Artifacts, a Solar Powered Sauerkraut Factory and a Rubber Chicken Farm. To bad we don't have the likes of Murtha here. Oh, we have our porkers in office but they barely come up with piglet dollars. We need big wampum here to create jobs in the defunct dirty old factory town

  • 12 Libby_Gone // Nov 1, 2009 at 8:05 pm

Darsh! We need someone to bring pork to Mitch Chee Gon too!
People are so poor here they couldn't even buy matches to burn De'toit on devils night!!
    Now that says something!!

    Obama/Chavez, 2012!
    You get what you buy.
