(2009-10-16) — Congratulatory messages poured into the White House this morning from global heads-of-state celebrating President Barack Obama’s dramatic rescue of a 6-year-old Colorado boy, whose apparent flight in an experimental balloon yesterday captivated viewers around the world.
While the White House declined to comment on how the president could have flown to Colorado, retrieved the boy from the balloon, and returned him safely to the attic of his family home, press secretary Robert Gibbs said President Obama was “surprised and deeply humbled” by the international attention. He said the president views this latest round of global tribute as “a call to action” to lend urgency to the cause of passing comprehensive health care reform as well as cap-and-trade climate change legislation.
The incident comes just a week after Mr. Obama stunned the world by winning the Nobel Peace Prize for his diligent labors during the initial 12 days of his administration to promote fraternity among nations and to abolish or reduce standing armies.
Mr. Gibbs said the president is committed donating to charity any reward money he gets for the boy’s rescue, and that the White House still awaits a return phone call from the boy’s family regarding the amount of that reward.

Hawkeye is right, although, if Obama is ever on a hot air balloon there will never be any way to rescue him because the "hot air" will never stop filling the balloon.
One off topic question. Will the libs now stop using Wikipedia as a source now that it has been proven that "Wiki" was the "source" for the 'made up comments/outright lies' that were preached as Gospel about Rush Limbaugh?

I got this email today. Is it racist, or just the TRUTH???
In South Los Angeles , a 4 plex was destroyed by a fire. A Nigerian family of six con artists lived on the first floor, and all six died in the fire.
An Islamic group of seven welfare cheats, all illegally in the country from Kenya, lived on the second floor, and they, too, all perished in the fire.
6 LA, Hispanic, Gang Banger, ex-cons, lived on the 3rd floor and they too, died.
A lone, white couple lived on the top floor. The couple survived the fire.
Jesse Jackson, John Burris and Al Sharpton were furious. They flew into LA, met with the fire chief, on camera. They loudly demanded to know why the Blacks, Black Muslims and Hispanics all died in the fire and only the white couple lived..?

You left one out. That the fire chief was a "racist" for ASSUMING that the dead lowlifes didn't have a job on the "night shift", (even though the "job" was trafficking drugs), when he said about the white people, "They were at work."

It sounds like a legitimate story to me although, the details about being here illegally, gang bangers, ex-cons, and welfare cheats would most CERTAINLY be "scrubbed" from the "media" YOU watch or listen too!
Also, it would probably NOT be too much of a stretch of the imagination that the fire was CAUSED by one or more of the thugs from smoking crack or some other drug!

The so-called "Alleged Balloon-Boy" episode was a hoax concocted by the government to distract us Earthlings while BHO visited the Mothership. Rumor has it there was some discussion regarding proof of citizenship but BHO left empty-handed.
A member of his entourage was overheard saying, "Wow. Roswell has transcended bleakness," as the Mothership sped away and madmen pummeled a shiny balloon with farm implements while lethal weapons stood at the ready, dogs snarled, helicopters hovered—time stood still for like two hours.
So now I suppose the government will put a lien on the future earnings of the poor kid in perpetuity and the ravenous media will devour the rest of him for even longer than that.
