In the wake of President Obama’s speech Monday marking the first anniversary of the Lehman Brothers collapse, experts said the president’s push to institute a raft of new financial industry regulations would likely hit Straw Men hardest.
The Straw Men, a shadowy group of anonymous persons who reportedly believe all government regulation is evil, any regulation at all restricts choice by consumers and the current crisis calls for a return to reckless behavior, are also frequently known as “some who say” or “those who believe.”

The emperor-who-wears-no-clothes in the WH (that is, when he is not galivanting around the country campaigning) has sympathy for the straw-man argument, for it provides the stuffing for his empty rhetoric and the clothes he left behind as a disguise of his being "present!"

Things are fine.
I was just recollecting our Face2Face gathering over Labor Day weekend not too long ago. We will have to reprise that event, perhaps next spring or next fall.

Seems to me there is a decided decline in the regulars who used to comment here. Scrappleface does not feel the same anymore.

I would say Obama seems like a "straw man" but, that would probably get me accused of being a racist, so I won't.
Define irony—
An anti-Semite, RACIST, ex-Prez, (second worst in History, right after-"you know who") accusing ANYONE else of being a "racist".
Doesn't this guy know what a human joke he has become? SERIOUSLY? I think even Democrats/libs have to chuckle whenever this guy opens his trap, although they would NEVER admit it.

While Obama's EMBELLISHED story about a cancer patient who died because he was denied healthcare may not be a strawman arguement, it IS a lie! The same as ALL Obama's "Stories" are!
