Cheney Memoir to Reveal His White House Hijinks

by Scott Ott for ScrappleFace · 16 Comments · · Print This Story Print This Story

According to the publisher of Dick Cheney’s forthcoming memoir, the former vice president will break his silence and “spill the beans about his hijinks, horseplay and late-night pranks” during eight years in the Bush administration.

“The statute of limitations has expired,” Cheney, 68, has reportedly told associates. “Now the world can meet the man behind the stoic mask — a fun-loving, merry prankster with a twinkle in his eye and a trick up his sleeve.”

I think my favorite was that waterboard-over-the-door trick.

p.s. to Scott if you see this: your article in the Examiner has a paragraph doubled.

I always liked Bush/Cheney because it was really nice to have adults in the WH.

They weren't patronizing or condescending toward Americans; they didn't assume that Americans are dumb like Clinton did and BHO is now doing. Bush/Cheney actually love the USA, unlike the Democrat party and its members.

I have already alerted my editor to the duplicate graf. However, I don't think he's in the office this morning. So, we'll just say they did that for emphasis.

Ah. Well, I didn't think you were paid by the word or you'd be a millionaire by now.

Graf's my brother (but we call him Zeppo). I'm Gary.

Agreed, JL3. While it's fun to joke along with the mood of Scott's satirical article, the fact remains that Dick Cheney displayed a palpable, unmistakable love for this country, as did President Bush. Both desired to preserve and protect it as a precious gift entrusted to them and us, rather than to strip and remold it as nothing more than raw material for some poorly defined vision.

I saw something on another site, (maybe AOL-haha), that had a story, which I did NOT even bother to read, it being AOL-haha, but the gist was that Cheney thought Bush was too soft toward the end of his Presidency.

I think this is an UNDERSTATEMENT!!! If it had been possible, I would have liked for Cheney to have switched places with Bush about 2005 or 2006!

The practice of "turning the other cheek" does NOT work with today's lib and/or America's enemies!

Maybe I should have just been "pithy" and said America's enemies? ;-)

I think it is time to bring back Monarchy to this country, hail King George. Our current form of goverment is failing.

Our current form of government is the best in the world; past, present, future. Our current form of government is not failing.

The USA has never had a monarchy.

I miss Cheney's wry smile and solid statesmanship. In fact, I would feel more confident about America's economy and security were he at the helm

That Dick Cheney and his cheap Jedi mind tricks. Of course he masterminded 9/11 because he foresaw the day when the Obama recession would bring this country to its knees and Halliburton would need a steady government contract in Iraq to stay solvent.

I was talking about Gerge Bush. But while we are on the subject, there are areas of our goverment that are failing, especially according to how our founding fathers had discussed their vision for our goverment 200+ years ago. Around the same time we broke away from a monarch..

But if you think the democrats are not failing, you have that right..I think they are…And i have that right. That part of democracy is not failing, free speech..

Of course, what most infuriates the left, both in "official" politics and in the press, is that Cheney was right — the CIA's application of less gentle interrogation techniques to certain particularly dangerous detainees worked and innocent lives were saved.
