(2009-08-08) — Just days after the White House asked Americans to report their fellow citizens to flag@WhiteHouse.gov when they see, read or hear ‘fishy’ information about health care reform, there’s an app for that.
The new ‘iCU-R-Fishy’ application for iPhone, created by the makers of the popular ‘Tap Tap Revenge’, employs the revolutionary device’s ability to capture photos, audio and video, as well as text messages, email, websites and precise location via GPS.
White House spokesman Robert Gibbs said the iPhone app would be “a terrific truth tool in the hands of true patriots.”
Civil libertarians have raised concerns about the administration’s use of private information about citizens who are simply exercising their First Amendment free speech right to question or protest the government takeover of America’s health care industry.
However, Mr. Gibbs called them “alarmists who are just sowing the seeds of mistrust between the president and his loyal citizens.”
“Why would we need to gather personal information about our opponents?” he said. “That would be a wasteful duplication of existing data.”

…wasteful duplication of existing data… uff da!
Will someone tell me where are all the civil libertarians who were screaming "foul" at President Bush's (supposed) domestic spying program?! The silence is quite deafening….

According to the latest poll, 100% of all fish are offended by the proposition that there is something wrong with smelling fishy. This video is proof.

What's funniest, Upnorth, is that the people who screamed loudest about the threat of being "chipped" are the ones now proudly tethered to "smartphones" that can track them to within a few feet anywhere they go.

gafisher - "smartphones"? I just got an e-mail stating that the usurper now wants a federal mandate requiring all new cars (regardless of country of manufacture) be equipped with a GPS unit. I guess sort of like the unit installed on many new GM cars today. I guess any attempt to disconnect or disable the unit would send a notice to Gvt. Hqs - wonder if Congress critters will have their cars so equipped?

Where is the site to report fishy items emanating from the White House?
27 Darthmeister // Aug 8, 2009 at 7:52 pm
Fishy? I smell a skunk in the White House.
The national socialist media spun the employment news differently under Bush 41 than under their messiah Obama.
What!? The liberal media is baised toward Democrats? Say it ain't so, Forrest!
Fred Sinclair … lemons, tequila and salt sound like a good idea right now though I prefer a little lime instead. Tequila, the opiate of the masses under Amerikan socialism! Then Donks will probably double the taxes on Tequila, too.

How about "We Win in 2010.net " for fishy items from the Congress?

BTW, I heard from our paper salesman that ObamaCare would create between 17 to 19 more layers of bureaucracy. Any truth to that? I say if it creates more than three layers of bureaucracy it simply ain't worth having.

Interesting excerpt lead in on the AARP:
By INVESTOR'S BUSINESS DAILY | Posted Friday, August 07, 2009 4:20 PM PT
Discourse: At a town hall last week in Dallas, an elderly "mob" with "manufactured" outrage questioned AARP's support for nationalized health care, asking: "Do you work for us or do we work for you?"
There were no swastika-wearing grannies at Tuesday's meeting, as House Speaker Nancy Pelosi might claim. Nor were they "taking their cues from talk show hosts, Internet rumor-mongers . . . and insurance rackets," as Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid has said.
But they were mad as hell at the perception that AARP was selling them out in the name of government-run medical insurance. That perception was not helped when the AARP town hall on the subject was shut down by the seniors outfit once the members dared to ask questions. The AARP representatives did not want to hear from the members at all. Just send in your dues, granny, and be quiet.

Another interesting excerpt:
WAKE UP! Posted By admin On August 8, 2009 @ 11:39 am
By Paul Craig Roberts
August 8, 2009
Tent cities springing up all over America are filling with the homeless unemployed from the worst economy since the 1930s. While Americans live in tents, the Obama government has embarked on a $1 billion crash program to build a mega-embassy in Islamabad, Pakistan.
Hard times have now afflicted Americans for so long that even the extension of unemployment benefits from 6 months to 18 months for 24 high unemployment states, and to 46 – 72 weeks in other states, is beginning to run out. By Christmas 1.5 million Americans will have exhausted unemployment benefits while unemployment rolls continue to rise.
Will Americans see the disconnect between their interests and the interests of “their” government? In the small town of Vassalboro, Maine, a few topless waitress jobs in a coffee house drew 150 applicants. Women in this small town are so desperate for jobs that they are reduced to undressing for their neighbors’ amusement.
Meanwhile, the Obama government is going to straighten out Afghanistan and Pakistan and build marble palaces to awe the locals half way around the world.

Another idea the White House could use, is instead of using the iPhone about "fishy" info, they could partner, or BETTER YET, take over Long John Silvers, and have Gibbs dressed as the pirate, tell customers to use the "aye matey Phone to report "fishy" info on Obama?
Then tell how you can trade in a can of tuna as a down payment, (which you will need soon), in order to purchase the new "Obama bottom feeder" meal!
A new twist on the "cash for clunkers" auto program. This, "cans for catfish" program will help spur fast food business that is sagging.
Congress will appropriate 3 billion for it after the fall recess.
PS: The money needed for the new jet planes for the CongressCritters will be attached to this bill.

By Sebelius saying, "Keep doing what you are doing", in light of the attacks on people we see here, shouldn't she be arrested for inciting to riot?

I feel so vindicated!
I felt like a true loon when I first stated my epiphany that Obambi=Hitler. I went so far as to dust off the cobwebs on William L. Shirer’s The Rise and Fall of the Third Reich. The chapters on the 1930’s are especially relevant.
The Hitler Jugend has a long, proud legacy of children snitching their parents out for griping about The Final Solution around the dinner table.
There is a court ruling and Congressional legislation from the Nixon era that specifically prohibits governmental collection of data on dissenters to any form of policy. It seems Tricky Dick wanted to know who those pesky anti-war protesters were. Back in the quaint days of extant rules of Constitutional law, he got a collective finger wagged in his face, accompanied by a firm “no-no!”
Of course, those were the days when America still soldiered on under a two-party system.
Those who protest at town hall gatherings are in grave peril. They may not have an Auschwitz in their future, but after character assassination, financial destruction by the IRS, and the other forms of ruin that the government will bring upon dissenters, they’ll be amenable to “re-education.”
After the drugs and electroshock, Ann Coulter and Bill O’Reilly will be especially useful to the party with their televised recantations of conservative, traditional principles.
I’m an old cripple that no one listens to, so I’m slated for euthanasia. I have the condemned man’s luxury of being fearless in my opinions.
BTW, the union thugs who are cracking down on dissenters at public forums on The Red Herring’s policies all seem to be wearing black tee-shirts with “SIEU” on them. We already know SIEU is the new acronym for ACORN; should we call these New Age enforcers “Blackshirts?”
Reading the last history book in America on Scorpion Hill…
55 Darthmeister // Aug 9, 2009 at 2:03 pm
Kenneth Gladney, the black conservative beaten up by Obama's union thugs at a townhall, speaks truth to power.
Given the national socialist media's deathly silence on this bit of Democrat thuggery it's becoming increasingly clear that if all things were equal if Kenneth Gladney had been an Obama supporter he would have become more famous than Rodney King!
It's not like the liberal media actually shapes the news cycle or anything like that, eh?

Right on! Wonder how history will play this out. Will it be the journalistic axis of evil, with Olbermann on one end and Matthews on the other, with the whole mess of ‘em in between?
Will Journalism’s textbooks in the future record that profession’s players of 1995 to the present as case studies of the worst of the worst?
