Scott, you are always the most intelligent, biblical and well spoken of the bloggers. I never cease to be impressed by your appearances. Continue to boldly speak the truth in love. You are an inspiration.

    Regards,

    Scott,
    Great interview throughout!
I loved your single dissenting comment (at the end) and believed you handled it so very admirably. Jesus can heal any hurt and solve any problem.

    God Bless.

  • 5 Darthmeister // Jul 2, 2009 at 11:13 am

C’mon Scott, quit being so anachronistic with all this talk about “sin”. You’re turning off the morally relativistic progressive voting bloc who think its more of a sin to not pay more taxes to government to create their heaven on earth than it is to commit a few “private sexual indiscretions.” Like the Clintonistas used to say, if it doesn’t affect ones public duty to the people at large then ones personal life is their own business.! [sarcasm mode/off]

Helen Thomas: Not even Nixon tried to control the media.
Yeah, and neither did Nixon get such sycophantic cooperation from a bunch of fawning “journalists”. Rather pathetic to watch the lamestream media whore itself to Obamessiah and his lying rhetoric about “hope and change.” After Obama gets finished trashing this nation I think there will be whole lot of outraged voters hoping for a change at the ballot box!

  • 6 boberinyetagain // Jul 2, 2009 at 11:23 am

Hank, correct…we don’t care what the Gov does in his spare time…if it isn’t illegal…and not on the taxpayers dime.
We can poke fun at his hypocricy but we don’t care much if he stays, goes, runs for President or dogcatcher.

  • 7 JQ // Jul 2, 2009 at 12:59 pm

    Boberin says:

“We don’t care what the Gov does in his spare time…if it isn’t illegal…and not on the taxpayers dime.”

But that’s the point; in a way, it was illegal. As Scott pointed out, Sanford broke a legally binding contract with his wife, which demonstrates a propensity to ignore prior commitments if it benefits him and he believes he can get away with it. It speaks directly to his ability to be trusted with wisely governing the people of his state.

Again referring to Scott’s statement, if the governor’s wife can’t trust him, how can the collective population of South Carolina?

  • 8 boberinyetagain // Jul 2, 2009 at 2:04 pm

If the voters want him out then he should be out. If they don’t mind then I don’t…his wife is another matter…I’m certain she cares/minds a great deal. And how she addresses that is (I’d hope) her concern…
Not unlike Iran where the opposition keeps hammering…as they should because they choose to…as individuals and as a people…not because we do or do not approve

    WV = $11,523,732 scamming…Madoff?

  • 9 JQ // Jul 2, 2009 at 2:40 pm

    Boberin says:

“If the voters want him out then he should be out…not because we do or do not approve”

Agreed. The governor should not be removed from office because a quorum is reached on Scrappleface.com.

Sanford & Sin … Sanford & Son? Good one, Scott!

BTW, as crude as Red Foxx could be with his Vegas act, he was still a riotously funny man.

I think some liberals are cooking the books for the Obamarx Administration and the sycophantic lamestream media doesn’t even scratch their collective cranial cavities.

So tell me how this adds up. In May it was reported 504,000 jobs were lost [since upgraded to 519,000 ... imagine that!], and unemployment increased 0.5 points, from 8.9 to 9.4 percent. In June, we now learn 467,000 jobs were lost, but unemployment increased only 0.1 points, from 9.4 to 9.5 percent. Given the June numbers unemployment is actually around 9.9 percent! Also keep in mind that when Obamarx won the Democratic nomination that I predicted that if this empty suit socialist was to get in the White House unemployment will go double-digit within two years. Almost there and its only been six months! I guess Mr. Obama has indeed made good on his promise for “change”!

  • 11 boberinyetagain // Jul 2, 2009 at 3:24 pm

A regular Nostrodamus…regale us with more predictions of a poor economy, wait…let me try!

I’m pretty sure that home prices will go down some more, that more folks will default on loans both personal and business. New home starts will remain quite low. Cars won’t sell all well either. Gambling revenue will continue to decline. Drug use will increase (legal and otherwise) Democrats and Republicans won’t see eye to eye on much.

Hey, this is fun…but not terribly difficult. It takes time to change course, especially when the captain gets to the bridge and finds the ship several light years from where it should have been because the last captain was napping for so long and the co-captain had his own agenda.

  • 12 boberinyetagain // Jul 2, 2009 at 4:35 pm

There appears to be no end to Obamas treachery, seems he began hurting the casinos (as Hank predicted) 2.5 years before he took office…now that’s planning folks…stuff like that takes lots of preparation…

Encroaching competition, coupled with weak consumer spending, has sent gaming revenues spiraling downward for the past three years.

  • 13 boberinyetagain // Jul 2, 2009 at 4:42 pm

By comparison Obama waited until December 2007 to spring the recession (and ultimately job losses) on us.
He is one crafty man, you have to give him that!
Quite the efficient planner…and so subtle you’d hardly know it was him. But Hank…he sees right through him.
You “da man” Hank. Why do you suppose Obama started the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan? All part of the “big picture” prolly…

  • 14 Laughing@You // Jul 2, 2009 at 5:28 pm

Say, does this mean Governor Sanford is unlikely to get the Republican presidential nomination in 2012?

    How about vice president?

How about if Palin takes him to her church?

Well, how about of Palin adopts him?

Maybe if he joins Palin’s church?

What’s so wrong with his taking a little time off, Palin does it all the time?

It’s not like they caught him in the Airport John with a House page, or something like that, and the lady wasn’t even a “working girl”.

Remember, he said this was a love story! Gee, you folks are tough.

But doggone it , I just love Republican comedy!!!

I thought of a defense for Gov Mark Sanford. He should use the “gay excuse” for his infidelity and say,

“God made me this way! I really wish I had a “choice” but I don’t. God made me want more than one woman. I realized this after my visit to an Internet blog called “Scrappleface”. It was there that I read a post from a “boberinyetagain” who defending gays said, what would make a person “choose” to be gay with the negative things and consequences of being that way.

I thought about how my family, my wife and 4 boys are being hurt and then realized, he is right, NO ONE would “choose” to be an adulterer, so it MUST be that God made me this way!

My eternal thanks to boberinyetagain for his valuable help putting the blame where it belongs. With God and NOT me!”

BTW blabber, in comment #4 you said you didn’t have the audio, so how can you comment on something you couldn’t hear?

I knew GOD said the lost would be “blind”, I guess now we know they cannot “hear” either, or maybe “just won’t listen“!

Take some meds “yapping”. Everyone is laughing at YOU and your party of perverts, (Barney Frank, Ted Kennedy, John Edwards, The immoral Clintons, Obama, INFINITY!), that almost make people like Sanford a saint.

  • 16 R.A.M. // Jul 2, 2009 at 7:43 pm

Scott: Your responce was spot on! The rest of the bloggers sounded like clowns, especially the one who said they should just get a divorce. She said it as casually as MOST of America now looks at divorce, abortion, and all other sin!

Thank you Scott for the ONLY voice of morality of ALL that were there, (and probably the only one on that entire network!)

Speaking of lying to the public … what was that that Obama’s predecessor said about WMDs ??

  • 18 egospeak // Jul 2, 2009 at 8:22 pm

    Newsman said,
“Speaking of lying to the public … what was that that Obama’s predecessor said about WMDs??” Why I believe he said that Iraq had them and that they were a threat to the region, just like both Clintons, John Kerry and numerous other democrats did in the late 1990s. The left has been misrepresenting this for years. The fact that they repeat it (that Bush lied about WMDs) like a pavlovian dog doesn’t make it anymore true today than six years ago. You are better than this. At least I thought you were.

    Regards,

wv - (Sheik Nicoletta) What???? There are now sheiks in Italy?? Is nothing sacred?

  • 19 Laughing@You // Jul 3, 2009 at 2:41 am

Whatever Clinton or Kerry, may or may not, have thought about the possibility of Iraq having WMD,

IT WAS DUMBYAH AND THE CRYPTKEEPER WHO LIED THE UNITED STATES INTO INVADING IRAQ!

They first lied to Colin Powell using information provided by a person the CIA and foreign intelligence agencies called “Curveball”.

They called him “Curveball” because he was a liar! Nobody believed him!

This includes Bush and Cheney! They wanted to conquer Iraq, for money they could steal in oil leases. Dumbyah also wanted to out-due H.W. as a “war president”, and he wanted revenge for the attempt Saddam made on his daddy’s life.

It was ego and money, nothing more!

This eternal claptrap and finger pointing is disgusting! You people seem smarter than this; it must be some kind of mental problem!

    Do you Everthink?

  • 20 Laughing@You // Jul 3, 2009 at 2:52 am

“God made me this way! I really wish I had a “choice” but I don’t.”

  • 21 Darthmeister // Jul 3, 2009 at 7:45 am

    Obama betrays freedom … again.

In response to our ignorant troll’s tired mantra that “Bush lied”, in order to “lie” one must first know the absolute truth and then knowingly misrepresent it. Despite all the posturing and hanky stomping by Bush-haters, there was no reliable, irrefutable evidence that Saddam and his regime had destroyed the WMDs that he was known to possess up to the day UNSCOM left Iraq in 1998. In fact, recent revelations revealed that Saddam took great pains in making the world believe, particularly the Iranians, he still had huge stockpiles of chemical and biological weapons. Also, it is inarguably true that at least 800 biological and chemical weapons were subsequently found in Iraq ranging from degraded (because of bad storage) to a nominal/pristine operational status. We know this to be true because when it was revealed the Bush-haters didn’t deny their existence but rather said because of their older date of manufacture they magically quit being WMD which is totally absurd since such caveats never determined the difference between conventional weapons and WMD and this “new standard” was never incorporated in any of the 17 UN resolutions dealing with Iraqi WMD.

So, there were indeed Iraqi WMD and even if there weren’t the world is a better place with the thug Saddam mucking it up. And ironically one of the reasons the anti-war Bush-haters gave for not going into Iraq to remove Saddam and his regime was the acknowledged existence of those WMD! Whether they acknowledge it or not, Bush-haters are caught in their sides’ own web of deceit.

Besides, plenty of original Iraqi documents that have now been translated (I provided a link a few threads back) documents Saddam’s own efforts to continue to pursue a home-made nuclear weapon as well as keeping his dual-use commercial operations at a readiness that would allow his regime to reconstitute its biological and chemical stockpiles .

Obviously the real truth is much more complex than the ignorant mantra pursued by a bunch of partisan hacks who spew their partisan venom to this day that … BUSH LIED!

The real liars are those who ignore this accurate analysis of the facts as we know them today and continue with their self-serving mantra that BUSH LIED.

  • 22 Darthmeister // Jul 3, 2009 at 7:58 am

Oh, and to explicate further and more clearly, one of the now forgotten reason given by some Bush-haters as to why Saddam’s regime shouldn’t be removed was because of the existence of Iraqi WMD and how we shouldn’t knowingly expose American troops to chemical and biological weapons because that would result in 10s of thousands of American casualties.

This was actually one of the core arguments of the anti-war crowd that was dropped like a hot potato when they found it more convenient to focus on their Bush lied meme. You can’t have it both ways.

  • 23 egospeak // Jul 3, 2009 at 9:18 am

    L@Y re: 18

Your issue with Bush is not that he lied, because if he lied then all the Democrats who said the same thing also lied. Your real issue is that Bush acted on that information after we were attacked on 9/11. Your problem is that you disagreed with the policy.

As you are a former military man with a son in the military you have that right and perhaps you have more credence because of your service. But elections have consequences and despite all the caterwauling by the left about the 2000 election, Bush got more votes, he won the election and it was his responsibility to direct America’s course. You have the constitutional right to disagree with the course he chose and you have made that disagreement widely known. But your mindless repetition of the demonstrable falsehood that Bush lied us into war detracts from any legitimate points you might make about the war in Iraq.

A real example of a lie that is going to affect not only you but all us common folk is the Waxman-Markey climate change bill. According to John Griffing at the American Thinker, the findings of the IPCC, on which Waxman-Markey is supposedly based, were produced by using falsified data. They lied to produce the result that they desired. As Mr. Griffing states, “One might conclude that HR 2454, The American Clean Energy and Security Act, exists for no other purpose than to destroy the American economy as we know it and bring it all under government control.”

If you thought that Bush was a tyrant wait until government controls every aspect of your life, which seems to be the aim of the current administration. Then you, your son, and all the rest of us will understand what real tyranny is and it may cause you to wonder just what it was that you and your son fought for.

GET OUT YOUR KLEENEX BOX BEFORE YOU WATCH THIS………

Killed in action the week before, the body of Staff Sergeant First Class John C. Beale was returned to Falcon Field in Peachtree City, Georgia, just south of Atlanta, on June 11, 2009. The Henry County Police Department escorted the procession to the funeral home in McDonough, Georgia. A simple notice in local papers indicated the road route to be taken and the approximate time. People lined the route for miles to pay tribute to one of our fallen. Sort of restored some of my shaken faith in ‘the silent majority’ of our country.

Nowadays one can be led to believe that America no longer respects honor and no longer honors sacrifice outside the military. Be it known that there are many places in this land where people still recognize the courage and impact of total self-sacrifice. Georgia remains one of those graceful places. The link below is a short travelogue of that day’s remarkable and painful journey. But only watch this if you wish to have some of your faith in people restored. Please share widely.

    This Day of Freedom’s Birth
    By William Kevin Stoos
“Posterity: you will never know how much it has cost my generation to preserve your freedom. I hope you will make good use of it.” ?
    John Quincy Adams

It’s more than just a banner
    Framed in azure skies,
And more than just a country-
This land o’er which it flies.
To call this day a birthday
Is to miss its deeper worth:
‘Twas more than just a nation born,
    This Day of Freedom’s Birth.

The point is darth that all Presidents lie so what’s the big deal with your asserting that Obama has lied ??

Also Bush knew the real truth in the first place but he needed to drag out some sorry excuse to justify his invasion.

Saddam was quite manageable by us at that time and represented no threat to the Continental United States. Sure he was a despot but we don’t go after every despot in the world and could not if we wanted to. Where were we when Pol Pot was killing thousands if not a million or more in Cambodia? We raised not a pinky !

The result of Bush’s invasion - a lot of our soldiers died unecessarily in Iraq and we spread our resources too thin. When it came to dealing with the real threat in Afghanistan, i.e., Al Quaeda and company, we went in with inadequate forces to do the proper job and we have paid dearly for that and continue to pay with no real end in sight.

Here are some interesting FACTS about who DID and DID NOT vote for “Robber Hood”!

Did your welfare check and food stamps come on time you insane moron?

    United States of America
    Born: July 4, 1776
    Died: Nov 4, 2008
    Suicide by self inflicted wound

Professor Joseph Olson of Hemline University School of Law, St. Paul , Minnesota , points out some interesting facts concerning the Presidential election:

    Number of States won by:
    Democrats:19

    Republicans: 29

Square miles of land won by:
    Democrats: 580,000

    Republicans: 2,427,000

    Population of counties won by:
    Democrats:127 million

    Republicans: 143 million

Murder rate per 100,000 residents in countieswon by:
    Democrats: 13.2

    Republicans: 2.1

Professor Olson adds: “In aggregate, the map of the territory Republican won was mostly the land owned by the taxpaying citizens of the country. Democrat territory mostly encompassed those citizens living in government-owned tenements and living off various forms of government welfare…”

Olson believes the United States is now somewhere between the “complacency and apathy” phase of Professor Tyler’s definition of democracy, with some forty percent of the nation’s population already having reached the “governmental dependency” phase..

If Congress grants amnesty and citizenship to twenty million criminal invaders called illegals and they vote, then we can say goodbye to the USA in fewer than five years.

But, I would like to ask, did the good doctor also note that in 2008 Democrats won the White House by a landslide vote? And did he mention also that the Democrats won control of the Senate in that same election?

Does he understand that Democrats have reduced the Republicans to a sniveling group of whiners who are in widespread disfavor because their ideas are not consistent with the bold daring of America’s founders?

Did he mention the the Republican Party today is headed by demagogic pedophiles, homosexuals, and adulterers?

The Giggling Cuckoo said in #45: “RAM, I made a post to you earlier today which was deleted without even a notation. This was done even though it contained no profanity of any sort. I guess it was deemed too offensive to allow.”

YOU wrote something offensive? Noooooooooo, that is too hard to believe!!!!

So I guess you are now accusing Scott of censoring you, right? One of the most tolerant bloggers on the Net, suddenly decides to censor “one specific post” of your THOUSANDS of vulgar, name calling posts?

You really expect ANYONE to believe that one? You sure you don’t want to try again?

My bet is in one of your out of body experiences, as one of your “other personalities”, you forgot how to post, or maybe you forgot you posted it over at your home base, “moveon.org”, or huffington post?

Nurse Ratchett said she is saving your “regular room” for you and to hurry home. :-)

    R.A.M. re: 48

I think everybody here knows that I didn’t vote for Obama and don’t support the vast majority, if any of his policies. However lets be fair. While he does have a tendancy to stop and start, alot, before he gets his thoughts in order, you can edit anybody who shows up on TV and make them look like an idiot.

I am more concerned about the second example you provided which seems to demonstrate pretty well the dangers of uninformed voting.

    Regards,

BTW, I am not one of those who ever believed the media hyped fantasy that Obama is this amazing public speaker. Off the cuff he is pedestrian at best, with a teleprompter and rehearsals he is… well, let’s just say he’s better than John McCain.

wv - (wonders the) wonders of it all.

    RAMBO:

I am who I am and not anybody else.

I also think that L@Y saying, “Did he mention the the Republican Party today is headed by demagogic pedophiles, homosexuals, and adulterers? ” is way over the top and totally unacceptable !!

He must be apprenticing with Darth !

egospeak: Of cousre you are 100% right. The video was edited and spliced to make Barry look even dumber than he actually is. This is the same tactic used by the libstards for the last 8 and a half yers on GWB.

The only difference is, to see Obama edited and spliced you have to watch it on YouTube, with GWB it was on EVERYTHING, Tv, movies, newscast, etc.!

The second video was to HOPEFULLY show people, that call people that voted against Obama (or don’t like him) a “racist”, that the TRUE racists, (and the ones that voted for him ONLY because he was black), are on this video, although there are MILLIONS more!!!

If they don’t know where he stands, and who his pick for VP is, the ONLY explanation is that he is the same color as them!
