(2003-01-13) — Sneezy, the actor best known for his appearance in the Walt Disney classic “Snow White,” announced this afternoon that he would seek the Democrat nomination for President.
He becomes the seventh announced Democrat candidate, joining Senators Joseph Lieberman of Connecticut, John Kerry of Massachusetts, John Edwards of North Carolina, Representative Richard Gephardt of Missouri, former Gov. Howard Dean of Vermont and the Rev. Al Sharpton of New York City.
“I don’t really have a good reason for running, other than nostalgia,” said Sneezy. “I remember how great it was working with those six other fellas on the movie, and this reminds me of those good old days.”
Although he has been out of the public eye for some years, his name recognition exceeds that of the other six contenders combined.
Sneezy said he agrees with President Roosevelt’s politics and promises to increase funding for research to cure allergies and the common cold.
