Sotomayor: Wise Latina Would Not Have Picked Me

by Scott Ott for ScrappleFace · 24 Comments · · Print This Story Print This Story

(2009-06-05) — Supreme Court nominee Sonia Sotomayor said today that “if President Obama were a wise Latina woman, with the richness of her experiences, he would have picked a less controversial court nominee.”

Judge Sotomayor said she doesn’t blame the president for his unwise choice, “after all, as a black male, he can’t be expected to demonstrate much more wisdom than he has so far. He’s certainly sharper than a white male, but the fact remains that he’s male, and has no discernible Latino heritage.”

Although the president and his spokesman have both indicated that the judge misspoke on an occasion in 2001 when she said, “I would hope that a wise Latina woman with the richness of her experiences would more often than not reach a better conclusion than a white male who hasn’t lived that life…”, further research shows that the remark was frequently included in her speeches between 1994 and 2003.

President Obama said he would not comment further on the controversy, “since matching wits with a Latina woman is above my pay grade.”

The problem is that she's probably right…but it's bad form to actually say so!

Sotomayor's racism wouldn't be an issue were it not for the left's concerns about her abortion stance.

If a "wise latina" commits a faux pas in a media forest and no liberal Democrat is willing to hear it, does she make a noise?

Even though a liberal repeats himself/herself/itself over and over, once the remark is found not helpful in their cause of creating their velvet gulag, they'll either claim they were misquoted, taken out of context, or misspoke … and the national socialist media rarely holds them accountable.

Recepies? Something with a latina flair perhaps?

How is she "probably right"? Not to say that life experiences can't affect a person's judgement in a positive way, but what makes a "wise Latina woman with the richness of her experience" more likely to judge fairly than a "white male who hasn't lived that life"? Hasn't the "white male" lived his own life, with his own experiences? Who is she to say that his experiences haven't given him the necessary databank of information with which to make his judgements?

And besides, aren't they supposed to be comparing their cases to Constitutional law? Where does a Hispanic heritage come into that?

Echoes of West Side Story: "Latina, the most beautiful sound in the world is Latina. I just met a judge named Latina…" or something like that.

When President Coolio, the "boy with a rocket in his pocket" meets Latina (the Rockette in the docket), "everyone wants to be in A-mer-i-ca/ Everything's free in A-mer-i-ca…"

The left loved to say Bush was a "smirking chimp". It sure looks like "Soto-jerk" has a permanent "smirk" on that hideous face of hers.

She reminds me so much of my previous U.S. Representative, (Julia Carson), and that is probably why I am so disgusted by her. Carson was a BIG part of turning my beloved home city of Indianapolis into another Detroit, and now the same thing is being done by her "grandbaby" who she left her Congressional seat to, (it was in her will and enforced by the DNC), only now the damage is being done by a younger, more worthless lib who is also a Muslim!

Sigh…more new gizmos to contend with. I had to create yet another online account to post here, and they didn't even tell me how to post my mug shot in case anyone hasn't seen it at the post office yet. I guess I can look forward to the volume of junk -emails for weight-loss and gential-stiffening drugs to increase by another magnitude since I had to offer my e-mail up yet again to this latest fad site.

I had something germane to say about Ms. Sotomayor, but between the fun of re-registering to comment and my early onslaught Alzheimer's, relevance to the subject at hand is history.

Oh, yeah. It had something to do with this: if life experiences make one an "empathetic" expert with especial wisdom, then Osama Bamalama should appoint me the Czar of Race Relations, because I grew up white refuting the racist traditions of my environment.

Also, can a wise Latina woman can give me a better recipe for huevos rancheros than the one I have?

And since I'm griping more than commenting, who do I have to [schmooze] to get my modest blog linked from here? There are dozens listed to your left, but four years of commentary at United Possums International and six years of commenting here at ScrappleFace still leaves me out in the cold. Am I not worthy?

Thank you again, Scott. I don't think anything could have brought out the inherent racism of that statement better that this.

Las Vegas and Reno Nevada are noted for wagers on most any conceivable proposition. I would like to find out the odds on which of "the usual suspects" in our Capitol will be the first to start serving hard time in the penitentiary for their crimes against America as they wire their political bombs to bring about the demolition of America. They are avidly engrossed in demolishing our Republic as they scheme to replace it with their version of Socialism "…..from each according to his ability, to each according to his need….." [Karl Marx]

Transforming our American Republic (USA) into their new (old really) United Socialist States of America (USSA) Socialism failed miserably in Russia, Poland, Romania, Bulgaria, Czechoslovakia, Cuba, Venezuela, etc., etc. It has a 100% failure rate, everywhere it's been tried. The few times that it has "worked" for a little while has without exception, been at gunpoint. It's no wonder they work so hard to disarm the populace, turning them from Citizens to Subjects.

Another Las Vegas bet would be to be on the date that the current usurper in the "Oval Office" will begin serving his time in prison. In the sixteenth century Sir John Harrington wrote: "Treason doth never prosper: what's the reason? For if it prosper, none dare call it treason."

It took Russia 400 years to create 23 tzars. In less than 5 months our usurper has created 22 tzars.

No our usurper won't go to prison anytime real soon. With his sycophants surrounding and protecting him, it will be like peeling away layers of an onion as bit by bit and piece by piece he is exposed (vetted?) for who and what he is. He's neither Christian nor Muslim. He is, in and of himself, his own religion with himself as his own messiah functioning under the teachings of his mentors: Marx, Lenin, Engles, Ayers, Rev. Wright, etc. Over 16,000 jobs a day lost since his Imaculation on Jan. 20 2009! 121 days x 16,000 = 1,936,000 jobs lost, or, in his own words, "You ain't seen nothing yet."
