I guess, according to unnamed sources that I am old enough to remember Napoleon. Though, he was a good friend, it is supposed to remain a secret that I ever befriended a Frenchman.

But I digress. I do remember in the pre-home computer/blog days in the 80-90’s when the only hate radio to be found was on short wave. Many a night I huddled around the fireplace with my golden lab fast asleep on the hand woven rug while I listened to angry anti-American ranting coming in and out of the airwaves, chewing out the Clinton’s.

Sadly my short wave radio sits in the corner collecting dust because technology has brought hate radio/blogs into my humble abode high above the rusting, dirty old factory town.

Tis sad indeed. Bring back the old days.

P.S. The above rant was irresponsible, but the writer is suffering from dementia as old age has settled in. :-)

    Camo,

    I resemble that remark.

    Ms RW,

I acquired most of my conservative principles from “books”. Do you remember those things? They had paper pages you had to turn… no clicking or scrolling… seems like only yesterday.

  • 7 Hawkeye // Apr 16, 2009 at 12:38 pm

    Newsman #3,

That’s been around for a long time. You are just now learning the truth? You should watch FoxNews more often… you might even become informed.

  • 8 MajorDomo // Apr 16, 2009 at 1:25 pm

Hawk #6: Yep, that was when books contained facts and truths; not fables and fiction from the imaginations of the Left.
    .
BTW, Scott, that was a marvelous ending comment you made in that audo clip!

    Sigh.
First it was Twitter, now he’s doing Evil Conservative Radio.
This is not the Scott Ott I knew!
    What next?
I sense the first vague stirrings of a Cult Of Personality ( … frightening how easily those things develop … ); I wouldn’t even rule out a descent into the cesspool of Politics!

    I am shocked, shocked …

    Camo,
    I resemble that remark.

    You’re in good company, then…

    Anyone read this?
    http://tinyurl.com/28cu7f

Yesterday we were in Rapid City for a Dr. appointment, I wanted to attend our local TEA party here in Gillette, but couldn’t be there.
So I asked around and was able to learn the time and location of the TEA party there. Turned out to be taking place at a time that I could attend. I would estimate the crowd at 1700 - 2000. My oldest son had a sign that read: “OBAMA - REID - PELOSI THE AXIS OF TAXES” and he got a lot of comments on it. The cars passing by were mostly supportive of us, one young girl flipped us off, but she was the only one I am aware of that didn’t like us being there.
Today I heard on my radidio about how the Boston Tea Party was about “taxation without representation”, as the libs in the media were twisting and spinning away from the truth. I do remember learning about the events of 1773 and I do remember something about taxation and representation from that event. But I also remember something about it being sparked by the British deciding to increase the amount of tax levied upon that specific commodity. As I remember hearing the story, it was the tax hike that gave birth to the terrible atrocity of polluting our virgin waters with raw tea, the kind you drink, not the kind Jed Clampett owes his fame and fortune to. I highly doubt that our forefathers did an environmental impact study, or obtained the proper permits prior to their infamous act. Most uncivilized!
I saw many veterans among the crowd too, but somehow there was not one terror related incident reported. No one from the Commie News Nitwits covered our event, it was probably not fit for “family viewing” either. Local KNBN-TV was filming us though, had the camera on me with my 14 month grandson, I doubt that we made the cut though. KOTA & KEVN were there too, but I’m not aware of being in their line of fire.
I’m ready for bigger and better to follow.
Whenever conservatives talk of tax cuts, theye always ask “how are we going to pay for them?” Is anybody asking the powers that be that question regarding this ridiculous spending spree we have been on lately? How are we going to ever pay for this? Government has an addiction to spending, once they spend X$, they are wanting and succeeding in spending X$ + 20%. Next year’s spending is ALWAYS a lot more than the current year’s. I guess it is what gives them some sense of accomplishment.

Isn’t interesting how this ignoramous Donk, Rep. Jan Schakowsky (D-Ill.), blasted ‘tea party’ protests yesterday, labeling peaceful tax protests as “despicable” and “shameful.” Of course Donks like her trying to undermine the war on terror during the Bush Administration wasn’t “despicable” and “shameful”, now was it?

So isn’t it ironic that her husband pled guilty Wednesday to tax violations and bank fraud for writing rubber checks and failing to collect withholding tax from an employee? And isn’t it interesting how the national socialist media fails to make the connection of this utter criminal hypocrisy which exists in her own family! Jan Schakowsky’s husband, consultant Robert Creamer could face four years in prison on the two felony counts when he is sentenced Dec. 21.

One more piece of evidence that tax hypocrisy abounds in Washington, particularly among Democrat elitists. So it strikes me as ludicrous in the extreme that these raving lunatic fascists are actuallyangry that people are protesting the taxes that the Democrat leadership often find themselves criminally avoiding. And don’t these commie Democrats understand a little American history … like America was founded on certain principles such as being able to protest a government that irresponsibly levies and spends tax money like a bunch of drunken sailors? If these Donks are so interested in raising taxes, why don’t they do it in states 51 thru 57 … I’m sure Mr. Obama would be more than happy to sign that tax bill.

BTW, my apologies to drunken sailors.

Because states 51-57 are all welfare states!

  • 14 mindknumbed kid // Apr 16, 2009 at 9:52 pm

But wait, if they could only enable the poor to get multiple credit card accounts and a big mortgage too, they’ll be rich and prosperous in no time!

Atlas Shrugged has a great video of the NYC April 15, 2009 Taxed Enough Already party.

I saw so many excellent homemade signs at our small-community protest on the plaza of the county courthouse. Our attendance in spite of cold and rainy weather drew in three times the expected 400-500.

The protesters ranged in all ages and professions. They represented all political persuasions. They were united in their disgust over out-of-control spending, the disregard of our representation about our concerns, the projected debt and deficits, the bailouts, the unConstitutional grabbing of power by our federal government and its intrusion in our personal lives, and the bleeding of the productive to support the nonproductive.

Our government “leaders” have forgotten that their postions are only as secure as their efforts to represent us. This genuinely grassroots’ effort will only grow larger if the pols and the media don’t start paying attention.

    OLA #15,

    I’m laughing……

Darth-you and Limbaugh are two of a kind calling your opponents Donks, etc. It substantially takes away from your arguments against Democratic policies, actions & statements

  • 19 MajorDomo // Apr 18, 2009 at 9:58 pm

Well, which is better Newsman, donks, or asses?
Aren’t they symbols of the Democrat party?

Axelrod suggests ‘Tea Party’ movement is ‘unhealthy’
    Posted: 11:18 AM ET

From CNN Political Producer Peter Hamby
WASHINGTON (CNN) – Senior White House adviser David Axelrod on Sunday suggested the “Tea Party” movement is an “unhealthy” reaction to the tough economic climate facing the country.

Axelrod was asked on CBS’s “Face the Nation” about the “spreading and very public disaffection” with the president’s fiscal policies seen at the “Tea Party” rallies around the country last week.

“I think any time you have severe economic conditions there is always an element of disaffection that can mutate into something that’s unhealthy,” Axelrod said.

I must agree with Axelrod. The T.E.A. Parties are very unhealthy to the political health of the Socialists/Democrats & ‘RINOS’.
