Obama to Reveal Stimulus Bill Details in Music Video

by Scott Ott for ScrappleFace · 50 Comments · · Print This Story Print This Story

(2009-02-13) — Because the urgency of the moment prevented President Barack Obama and Democrats in Congress from allowing time for public comment on the 1,100-page economic stimulus bill passed Friday, the White House said it would soon release a clear explanation of all elements of the package in the form of a music video on YouTube and Hulu.

“Members of Congress didn’t read the bill,” said White House spokesman Robert Gibbs, “and most Americans live in a postmodern, post-literate society. So, we’re going to allow them to feel the beauty of this $800 billion package in the depths of their hearts, using the power of music, and the magic of transient, ethereal imagery.”

The president has reportedly already lined up an all-star cast of entertainers to rhythmically chant and sing their way through the reams of tax-cuts for non-taxpayers, and investments that will put future unemployed people back to work after the markets collapse in the wake of the bill’s passage.

“Everyone feels pretty queasy about the bill right now,” said Mr. Gibbs, “but once you’ve seen the video and memorize the song, that uncomfortable gnawing in your gut will be replaced by a warm, relaxed confidence that you’re safe in the hands of Barack Obama, who communicates to your soul in ways that mere legislation cannot.”

The title had me laughing even before I clicked the link in Twitter.

I hope more and more readers/viewers have their thoughts (and consciences, even) provoked by your insight.

    Will it be Rap “music”?

I join taxpaying patriots who grieve today, for it is indeed ” the day the music died”. Michelle Obama promised that some would have a “bigger piece of the pie” if Ackbar were president. I can only lament, “‘Bye, ‘bye, Miss American Pie”.

    .
I’m lookin’ and listenin’ and it seems that almost everyone who is paying attention is starting to feel quesy about the whole deal! I mean, we have an empty suit whose management skills consist of talking; various tax dodgers whose expertise don’t come close to matching the job descriptions; and a collection of red-dyed socialists threatening to take away many of our constitutional rights running the country. And where is the backbone of the “opposition”? Will it take a citizen uprising to recapture the Constitution?
    .
JL3 #1. Why? Why would God want to bless a nation that has refused Him entry? Who has told Him he is unwelcome on our coinage and in our pledges? Who refuse to acknowledge what He did for us in sending His son to intervene for us? Harrumph!

Rom. 12:21 Be not overcome of evil, but overcome evil with good.
Rom. 13:1 Let every soul be subject unto the higher powers. For there is no power but of God: the powers that be are ordained of God.
Rom. 13:2 Whosoever therefore resisteth the power, resisteth the ordinance of God: and they that resist shall receive to themselves damnation.
Rom. 13:3 For rulers are not a terror to good works, but to the evil. Wilt thou then not be afraid of the power? do that which is good, and thou shalt have praise of the same:
Rom. 13:4 For he is the minister of God to thee for good. But if thou do that which is evil, be afraid; for he beareth not the sword in vain: for he is the minister of God, a revenger to execute wrath upon him that doeth evil.
Rom. 13:5 Wherefore ye must needs be subject, not only for wrath, but also for conscience sake.
I do not believe that this applies to a usurper who bought the Presidency for $668. million dollars and having failed to produce an original genuine birth certificate is most probably not a natural born citizen and is therefore Constitutionally ineligible to hold the office of President. I believe that “he, who is the absence of God” is an emissary of the devil sent here on earth to carry out the devil’s planned destruction of America. (with the passage last night of his (written by another emissary - Nancy Pelosi) “Porkulus Bill” he making great inroads in carrying out his master’s wishes.

Fred, I respectfully disagree; just as God has chastened His people in the past with hard-hearted Pharaoh, cruel Artaxerxes, unstable Nebuchadnezzar, and weak Pilate, among others, He has now placed the mantle — and responsibility — of authority on another who must ultimately answer for whatever wisdom or foolishness he demonstrates. We may be in for a difficult time, but we have the assurance that “all things” (all things, even this) “work together for good to them that love God.”

I have had that “gnawing feeling” Scott refered to, a BUNCH of times since “O” ascended to his thrown, but I am thankful there is always one of my friends, (this time gafisher), to remind me that GOD is in charge, and truly ALL things, (even those being thrown at us by liberals), work together for good for those that love HIM!

To show how dumb some libs can be, last night Richard Belzer was on Hannity, and when Hannity said something about the stock market taking a nose dive, Belzer’s responce was, “Who cares about the stock maket anyway!”

I flashed back about 20 years when Hulk Hogan put him in a “sleeper hold” and Belzer hit the floor and busted his head.

Apparently, he never recovered. Seems libs bump their heads a LOT!

PS: If you can find the “snippet” of Specter somewhere on TV or the Internet saying to Laura Ingraham, “Get off the wine and dine bologna,-young lady!”, listen closely between the words, “bologna” and “young”. Apparently, Specter has picked up some of that “mumble language”, (ummmmh ahhhhhmm), that Obama uses so often when he doesn’t have his tele-prompter!

Probably learned it during a “wine and dine” party at “The White Crib”!

Is this the kind of musical Obama is looking for? Even as a liberal socialist I think he would turn as white as his mother if the likes of this ran on PBS.

The Republican Party just signed its own death warrant. Mark my words, the party is finished as a national political force.

Yes, the stimulus bill left a lot to be desired. There is no question on that note. The Republicans had some very valid criticisms

But to do nothing was not an option - remember Hoover !

It is now obvious to all that the Republican party is willing to sacrifice our country and bring back a depression that would make the 30s look like a kindergarden phenonemon.

    GOODBYE REPUBS !

  • 24 Darthmeister // Feb 14, 2009 at 12:30 pm

The national socialist media is still facilitating Barack Hussein Obama’s consistent practice of sanitizing his official website of his broken promises and throwing everything down the memory hole.

For example, during his campaign while a U.S. Senator, Mr. Obama plainly stated in February 2008 it was time to “stop the fraud and abuse” in federal small business contracting programs when he released the statement, “Small businesses are the backbone of our nation’s economy and we must protect this great resource. It is time to end the diversion of federal small business contracts to corporate giants.”

Since making that statement almost a year ago, as a U.S. Senator and now as he sits in the White House, Mr. Obama has consistently refused to make good on his campaign promise, and support legislation to stop Fortune 500 firms from hijacking federal contracts designated for America’s nearly 27 million small businesses.

Not only has Mr. Obama refused to propose even a single policy to address the problem, but he actually changed his Web site to remove the appearance that he had ever made the statement. And the Obamabots continue to tumble down that same memory hole of broken promises.

No wonder America is turning into the modern liberal version of “Alice in Wonderland”!

  • 27 Darthmeister // Feb 14, 2009 at 12:59 pm

Some more reality ignored by the Alice-In-Wonderland liberals:

Rep. Aaron Schock, whose llinois district is home to Caterpillar [Darth's note - right down the Interstate where I live], spoke on the floor about the president’s speech to his constituents and their telling response. Caterpillar has been a central part of Obama’s stimulus pitch the past couple of days, but the pitch has been bumbled, as the rest of the stimulus message has been. Obama claimed the Caterpillar CEO told him he’d be rehiring some of his 22,000 laid-off workers as soon as the stimulus bill was passed, but Owens later flatly contradicted the President’s claim. (Darth’s note - more evidence Mr. Obama is a political opportunist and a liar)

Schock’s constituents were urged by the president himself to tell Schock to vote “yes,” but he was not approached by one constituent, Caterpillar employee or otherwise, asking him to support the stimulus. Democrats can pass this monstrosity because they control both houses, but they should never get away with painting criticism of it as unreasonable or purely partisan. Criticism comes from every quarter- even from laid-off workers who are subject to an onslaught of the president’s patented Promises of an Implausible Nature and Grandiloquence of Economic Gloom.

Rep. Schock also state, “I found it very interesting that after the president finished his speech and I stayed around, not one employee at that facility approached me and asked me to vote for this bill. In fact, I have received over 1,400 phone calls, e-mails, and letters from Caterpillar employees alone asking me to oppose this legislation.”

Newsman: “But to do nothing was not an option…”

President Obama suggested that the only options on the table were spend 800billion or do nothing (just as you have). There are at least 800billion other options. We want to stimulate businesses and employers to create more taxpayers not to stimulate the government to create more tax receivers.
The president was not completely honest with the American people when he suggested those were the only two options on the table. It suggests to me a lack of understanding of economics, a disregard for opinions differing from his own, and a lack of respect for the truth.

“Peace is the absence of opposition to Socialism.” - Karl Marx

The Socialist “own” the House of Representatives. The Socialists “own” the Senate. The Socialists “own” the Office of the President. The socialists “own” the Mainstream Media.

The Socialists have bought the Presidency for $668 million dollars for a man most probably born in the country of Kenya, in Africa. Barring the producing of a genuine original birth certificate, I have to believe his aunt’s sworn statement that she was present at his birth in Kenya, and therefore B. Hussein Obama has effected a coup d’état in illegally seizing the Presidency. He has ram-rodded through ‘his’ Congress a unconstitutional spending bill disguised as a “Stimulus” Bill and now to put the cap on his so far successful coup d’état he is trying to push through his bill to make private ownership of firearms illegal. With no consideration of the Constitution regarding infringement in the 2nd Amendment part of our “Bill of Rights”

“The liberals are at it again. In a new bill introduced the first day of the present session of Congress, and with zero coverage from the MSM, H.R. 45 (Blair Holt’s Firearm Licensing and Record of Sale Act of 2009) targets all gun owners in the U.S.A. While the media the world and everyone else is focused on the “phony plan” to spend tax dollars legislation is sneaking through the House and Senate for more gun control.

This nefarious bill seeks to strip us all of our Constitutional Rights to possess and bear firearms of any distinction. It requires, within the first two years, that all new guns be registered. The bill goes retroactive after two years. Meaning that two years after the passage of the bill, ALL FIREARMS in a citizen’s possession must be registered, not just those purchased after the bill passes, and this apparently applies to antique firearms as well.

If this bill passes the House and Senate and is illegally signed into law by “the usurper” (also erroneously referred to as “The President”) Karl Marx will finally have the peace he so desired, “Peace is the absence of opposition to Socialism.” Without our firearms we will have ceased to be citizens and will have become subjects.

We will learn (as we so often heard about) why the Soviet subjects had to go into the bathroom and turn on the water in the sink or flush the toilet (to try and defeat the ‘bugs’ planted by the Gestapo to eavesdrop on private conversations) so they could whisper their comments while the water was running.

We will also learn more than we want about how the Citizens of Cuba became Subjects under Fidel Castro in 1959, whose coup d’état bears such a striking resemblance to the coup d’état of B. Hussein Obama here fifty years later in 2009.

Karl Marx’s first act as “President” was the confiscation of all firearms.
[Editor's Note: As far as we can determine, Karl Marx was president of the Trier Tavern Club drinking society in Bonn, but did not order the confiscation of firearms during his tenure.]
Fidel Castro’s first act as “President” was the confiscation of all firearms.
Idi Amin’s first act as “President” was the confiscation of all firearms.
Joseph Stalin’s first act as “President” was the confiscation of all firearms.
Adolph Hitler’s first act as “President” was the confiscation of all firearms.
Hugo Chavez’s first act as “President” was the confiscation of all firearms.
Robert Mugabe’s first act as “President” was the confiscation of all firearms.
    B. Hussein Obama’s first act as “President” was the introduction on the first day of the present session of Congress, and with zero coverage from the MSM, H.R. 45 (Blair Holt’s Firearm Licensing and Record of Sale Act of 2009).

Well they may get my ‘illegal’ firearms from my dead unresisting fingers, but I suggest they send S.W.A.T. along with a plentiful supply of body bags.

BUT, their grapic showed 68 for and 30 against.

I am sure it was simply an oversite, like AOL running a poll the other day about Obama’s speech with the ONLY three responces being:

    (1) “Thumbs up”

    (2) “Thumbs up” and

    (3) “I didn’t watch”

Look for even more of these “Mistakes” as Obama’s “failed Presidency” hits the toilet bowl! :-)

Isn’t it nice to know that all these new highways will be built and repaired, even though we won’t be able to drive on them because we won’t have the money to buy them, or to buy gas when it hits $6 or more a gallon.

It will be nice for the skate boarder’s though.

I’ve been reading comments from WINK NEWS.COM about: “Henrietta Hughes says she’s not milking the system”, By Nick Spinetto, WINK News, S/W FLORIDA - A woman making national headlines after a tearful moment with President Obama has a new home.

Some of the comments are right on, mainly dealing with “Get a job.” The usual suspects however are decrying the lack of compassion on the part of the Southern Conservative Rednecks and raising again the wrist bracelet question, “What Would Jesus Do?” (WWJD) so I thought I’d look it up to see what the Bible had to say about fool’s and cheats.

Prov. 26:3 A whip for the horse, a bridle for the ass, and a rod for the fool’s back.

    John 2:15 And when he had made a scourge of small cords, he drove them all out of the temple, and the sheep, and the oxen; and poured out the changers’ money, and overthrew the tables;

Jesus, the most compassionate man who ever lived, didn’t suffer fools gladly. Anyone in true need had a friend in Jesus. I don’t believe He would have had all that much compassion for the cheats of today, who’s life work is taking money stolen from the workers and producers, who actually earned the money and then complains that the Government Dole is not meeting her needs satisfactorily. Jesus might have even advised Henrietta to “Get a job.”

Henrietta was offered a house for three months ‘rent free’ and job placement training, by a local Christian Organization, both of which she had already refused prior to her appearance with Obama (manyl believe she was a ‘plant’ by the MSM).

“Jesus, the most compassionate man who ever lived, didn’t suffer fools gladly.”

Certainly you MUST be right, but I can’t think of an example, unless you mean the Pharisees; but it seems to me they weren’t as much foolish, as they were corrupt.

Can you give me an example of His not suffering fools gladly. I already have seen many good examples of Pharisaical behavior.

Yes, certainly America was a very racist nation, but what if SNL talked about dead n—— hanging from a tree-or even a dead n—-for president. Never happen.

I think shows like TW3 likely hated Vietnam war vets as much as they hated people from Mississippi
