McCain Camp Mulls Whom to Blame if He Wins

by Scott Ott for ScrappleFace · 68 Comments · · Print This Story Print This Story

(2008-10-30) — While unnamed sources inside John McCain’s presidential campaign have reportedly decided to blame running mate Sarah Palin if the GOP ticket loses next week, a vigorous high-level debate rages on about whom to blame if Sen. McCain should defeat his Democrat rival.

“If McCain’s victorious, we’re really in a jam,” said one anonymous campaign strategist. “We don’t yet have a contingency plan for that. There’s bound to be a lot of finger-pointing, but in the highly-unlikely event that McCain-Palin wins, the media will demand answers and someone’s got to take the fall.”

“A McCain-Palin triumph would undermine the foundations of a political process established on push polling and professional image management,” the source said. “It would present the ominous specter that average Americans can do whatever they please in the privacy of the voting booth.”

Gov. Palin was not available for comment, according to a top McCain aide, having “gone rogue” for the afternoon.

    George Will-

“From the invasion of Iraq to the selection of Sarah Palin, carelessness has characterized recent episodes of faux conservatism. Tuesday’s probable repudiation of the Republican Party will punish characteristics displayed in the campaign’s closing days. ”

    There’s that “faux” word again.

  • 2 upnorthlurkin // Oct 30, 2008 at 1:28 pm

Kindly share with us, the qualifications that (from the last thread) make him ready like no other (your words, not mine). What has he done that shows leadership?! I’m serious. I’d like more than “makes good, flowery speeches”, please.

  • 3 gafisher // Oct 30, 2008 at 1:33 pm

    Another quote, BL31U?

By Will’s definition McCain may be a faux conservative (though the same can’t be said of Governor Palin) while Obama is a genuine socialist. That doesn’t make Obama look any better.

  • 4 gafisher // Oct 30, 2008 at 1:37 pm

Regardless of who wins, it’s pretty clear Obama’s got the mindless zombie vote locked up.

  • 5 specialvall // Oct 30, 2008 at 1:47 pm

I think that there isn’t one person to blame for McCain’s (likely) loss. I think that a large percentage will end up blaming Palin (or those who chose her as his running mate).

For a more lighthearted view of the campaign, I recommend this website.

  • 7 RepublicanAttackMachine // Oct 30, 2008 at 2:01 pm

If McCain should manage to pull off a victory, the “blame” should rightly go to the “Proudness” that “Number 2″ always shows and GOD HATES so much.”

The trolls here can share the same “blame”!

    Pride comes before destruction!

If “Number 2″ wins, it will hasten GOD’s wrath, and then The big “O” and his lemming followers can celebrate their victory in Hades, while the Forgiven Christians can measure the drapes for their Mansions!

What Godless heretics plan for evil, GOD will use for good! :-)

I can promise all of you this; IF Obama wins, and IF he destroys this country as badly as Republican President Bush has done, I will at least have the GUTS to come back to all of you and admit I was wrong.

What pray tell, has President Bush done that destroyed this country?! (I’m not about to agree our country has been destroyed….the weenies in Europe have always hated us and been jealous of our prosperity and freedom!) I want facts here, not the ever so popular BDS rhetoric. I’m looking for other than Democratic talking points most of which are lies and exaggeration. And how in God’s name can you honestly believe a Stalinist would be in any way good for a country you say you love?!

    UpNorth,

Six or so years ago I came on here arguing that the war in Iraq was not justified and not necessary. Of course, I’m a troll, I was dismissed.
Now almost six years later the thousands of brave Americans have given there lives. Billions, Trillions have dollars have been spent. Of course our wonderful friends the Chinese are more than willing to lend us into slavery. The Commander and Chief lead our troops into a unnecessary war, and failed to properly plan its execution. The buck stops with him.
This administration wrongly refocused the efforts from Aphganistan to Iraq. We still haven’t caught Bin Laden and now troops in Aphganistan are coming under more frequent attacks. Our Military is stretched way to thin and the majority of the Army Brigades have depolyed to Iraq at least twice.
This administration decided that they were above the Constitution when it came to warrentless wire taping. Pres. Bush even referred to it as just a piece of paper. That piece paper is what he swore to uphold when he took the oath of office.
This administration has been so fiscally irresponsible that we now have record debt.

I’ve run on long enough. You can disagree with what I’ve provided, but you are definitely in the minority in this country when it comes to approving of George W. Bush.

Hey! Here’s one end of a phone conversation we won’t have to fret over:

“Hi George, it’s Sarah. How are things in Texas? Are you gettin’ lots of “Fishin’ Accomplished”? Yes, we’re all very sad here in Washington. Cindy said he slipped away quietly in his sleep, like the Hero Maverick he is…or was. Well, thank you. It does have a nice ring to it, doesn’t it? President Palin. Who knew that a weather girl at a small TV station in Alaska could ever achieve this! I would have never forecasted this storm front of good fortune, I tell you what, you betcha.

Yeah, that’s exactly where I’m calling from. It is very oval, isn’t it? But, I don’t think these curvy walls can support a moose head, though, but I’m pretty sure I can put up a pair of criss-crossed snowshoes to make it nice and homey in here. Kinda wild having all this power over our nuculer arsenal, isn’t it? Course, I would never use it willy nilly. I mean, I would never deploy a nuculer missle in a time of crisis…at least not until the Rapture comes. What to wear? What to wear?

Well, thank you for the offer. I would love to use you as a lifeline. What’s your celly? And Barbara’s? And your kids’? And your Secret Service agent’s? Just in case. You know, I’d also like to pick Mr. Cheney’s brain. I need some advice on interrogation techniques. I’m thinking that waterboarding wouldn’t be as effective as making a detainee run barefoot through a room full of Legos. Have you ever done that? It hurts like the Kodiak Dickens, I tell ya!

Anyhoo…Oh, I gotta scoot! Trig’s chewing on a light cord again. I’ll see you at the funeral. G’bye and God Bless America!”

  • 16 JamesonLewis3rd // Oct 30, 2008 at 4:46 pm

    Black-
Do you have proof Bin Ladin is still alive?
It’s the job of the military to go where they are ordered….I’m pretty sure they knew that when they enlisted… I won’t argue the Iraq war wasn’t justified because that is your opinion and mine is it was. If I’m not mistaken, we’ve been wiretapping terror suspects without warrants for quite a while…long before President Bush took office (and were you upset about the Clintons in posession of private citizens’ fbi files?!) Do you honestly believe the Democrats in congress wouldn’t have put a stop to the wiretapping if it were truely unconstitutional? They’ve done everything they possibly could to undermine everything Presidenty Bush has tried to do…except keep us from being attacked again…
As far as the popularity contest, Dubya is right where old WJB Clinton was about this time…in the thirties. Congress, however, has never been in the single digits before, and I give all that credit to Nancy Pelosi’s total incompetence. And speaking of the House of Representatives, they’re the ones with the checkbook! My disappointment with President Bush is in his not using his veto pen more often. He is an honorable, Godly man who has withstood more undeserved vitriol and hatred than most men could endure. Now I’m the one using up bandwidth….and wouldn’t you know it…I burned my bread….rats!

Needless to say she’s had enough of Obama’s and the Democrats’ empty promises and is a stanch supporter of Sarah Palin … oh, and McCain.

Anyway, I walk into my office and she had printed out an 8.5 x 11 sign and hung it above my table:

    I’ll keep My freedom,
    My guns, and My money
And you can keep “THE CHANGE”.
    Vote for McCain/Palin.

That just about says it all. BTW, she now sees the bias of the national socialist media and is outraged at their very real double-standards. In her words, “How can we vote for the right person if the media is always ignoring the shortcomings of one candidate while hyping only the negative stuff of the other candidate?”

    How indeed.

Several years ago I entered into a partnership with an individual who had been involved in a previous partnership in which the other partner filed suit to dissolve the partnership. But his suit was based on untruths and his day in court did not turn out as he had thought. He got the whole business, (and all of the bills too) but soon found out he was incapable of managing it and wound up in bankruptcy. My partner had invested heavily and ended up losing most of the money invested.
But even though the courts had held him (the ex-partner) responsible for the company, when he filed bankruptcy both names were on the original agreements and the creditors were calling on us to pay the bills because my partner’s name was on the papers we were going to be forced to pay.
Our only course of action was to file suit against him, but although we would have won the suit, we also knew that you cannot get blood from a turnip, and that if would take years and years to collect on the debt. But it was well within our rights to sue him, and to this day I sometimes wish I had not been willing to let him off the hook.

I believe that you can draw an analogy to the wars with Iraq. In 1991 we went to “court” against Saddam Hussein and won. The courts set forth terms which Saddam agreed to, and we entered into a period of time determined by the court for settling the original dispute. But, Saddam Hussein did not fulfill all of the terms of the agreement handed down by the court and agreed to by him. We had two options, drop it and let him do as he pleased, or go back to court to force compliance.
I believe that we did the right thing, and that to not have acted would have been a grave mistake. We can’t go back and undo history, therefore we cannot know what the consequences of inaction would have been. If he were still leading the Iraqi people, what would he have done in the past few years, seeing as how no one was willing to stop him? Even with perfect 20/20 hindsight, that question is not able to be answered.

Last I knew of him, that ex-partner was doing “better” financially than we did, I held a grudge for a while, but now I am glad for how we handled it and I wish him well.

And how many phone calls are made every hour in the US? If we suspect ties to terrorist plots from certain individuals I would hope we were monitoring them. In swearing to uphold the Constitution, if there were plans to attack the citizens of this country with the goal of defeating it, then it would be incumbent to do everything within your power to stop it, or there could well no longer be a constitution to defend. If you want to make the case that it was unjustified because there was no known threat, fine. But what is done in the true interest of National Security has to be given all benefit of the doubt, the probable consequences of failing to do so warrant it. And quit pretending they were listening to you talkin’ dirty to your gal, there aren’t enough bureaucrats in the world to even make a minuscule effort to do that sort of thing. That is a knee-jerk reaction.

Anyone that cannot find the truth concerning who Barrack Hussein Obama is, isn’t interested in knowing. Anyone who is shown the truth and continues to support him is living in the wonderful land of make believe. At stake in this election, like no election ever before, is the clearest of choice between light and dark, right and wrong, evil and good, God or anti-christ.
Nevertheless, the perfect will of God one day shall bring forth a great day of reckoning. It rains upon the unjust the same as it does the just. BUt we have the perfect peace of God, and the comforting presence of the Spirit, as well as a brother who is our Advocate on high. We will be fine, but for those who are outside the fold, it’s not going to be a bowl of cherries. The door is wide open, come on in to the light!

    Dear Fellow Business Owners:

As a Business owner who employs 30 people, I have resigned myself to the fact that Barack Obama will be our next President and that my
Taxes and Fees will go up in a BIG way.

To compensate for these increases, I figure that the Customer will have to see an increase in my fees to them of about, 8%.

I will also have to lay off 6 of my employees. This really bothered me as I believe we are family here and didn’t know how to choose who will have to go.

So, this is what I did. I strolled thru the parking lot and found 8 Obama bumper stickers on my employees cars. I have decided these folks will be the first to be laid off.

I can’t think of another fair way to approach this
problem. If you have a better idea, let me know. I am sending this letter to all Business owners that I know.

Question: Did or did not Obama originally commit to the same finances as McCain did?

If he did (as I seem to recall) then going back on his word is unforgivable. I was taught that a man’s word is his worth and his worth is his word - meaning that Barack Obama isn’t a man (a male - granted) A worthless male is not a man.

Having proven himself a liar all the uncountable lies that followed are meaningless. Once a person has branded themselves a liar, you can never again believe ANYTHING they say.

I pray to God, that He will not install a worthless male in the Presidency

    1Tim. 2:1 I exhort therefore, that, first of all, supplications, prayers, intercessions, and giving of thanks, be made for all men;
1Tim. 2:2 For kings, and for all that are in authority; that we may lead a quiet and peaceable life in all godliness and honesty.

Godliness and honesty. Two major areas where Obama is found both devoid and bereft. He may indeed be a miserable excuse of a man, but that does not relieve me of my obligation to pray for him.

Funniest thing, Fred. I am in the midst of reading The Manchurian Candidate, a paperback that I purchased at a used-book sale fundraiser to support the promotion of literacy. While the novel is not a particularly well-written book, it’s premise is quite credible. We have a number of moles working in our government, our media, and our universities intent on the destruction of America from within and working with foreign agents out of greed or the grasp of power. The thoughtless sheep in our nation are the useful idiots who elevate them into positions that harm us most.

Woo Hoo!!! I just came from a Palin rally, where the energy was high and the Alaska governor’s message was clear: Country First! Had I known that I would be thisclose to the stage, I would have brough along a camera.

The special treat was that the First Dude and the three youngest children were there, as well.

I don’t think that any American who heard the McCain-Palin message as voiced by Sarah! -not by the snide, editing-for-idiocy media- would dispute its optimism, its respect for hard work, the individual, family, and achievement, its underpinning of respect for the Constitution, and its recognition that government serves the people, not vice versa, would fault the genuineness and love of country of these two GOP candidates.

America offers a ray of hope and opportunity to its citizens as does no other country or political system. I do not want the perfidious ideology of Obama to destroy our country from within nor hold us hostage to the opinions of others. McCain-Palin value our alllies and know who our enemies are.

I confess - I was guilty too. There was a time when I too read postings from trolls. But I finally came to the conclusion that I was acting as a verbal sadist to their despotic masochism. They post their inanities with the feverish hope and expectation that some Scrappler will respond and beat them up with facts, figures, logic and reason.

Probably they can’t afford to hire a real Sadist with whips, 5″ spike heels, etc. so just to debased, humiliated, made fun of and otherwise exposed for the mindless male, man wanabees they are they come here for their floggings in print.

There used to be postings “Please don’t feed the trolls.” I’ts still a good idea, I haven’t read a troll posting for a good number of months now and honestly I eel a lot cleaner.

I used to let the MSM cram their liberalism into my brain until I finally had enough of their Godless Church of Liberalism and deep sixed my T.V. Now after months of no boob tube I feel even cleaner.

It’s a wonderful life that has no liberals in it. I hate and despise evil (a/k/a the absence of God) I do love the people - even libbers, for the Bible tells me to. so I don’t “hate” any liberal, I just consider that he or she has been re-educated by our schools & Media. To paraphrase Reagan, they aren’t stupid, they just know so much that isn’t so.

I love asking for prayer requests and here we go again. While you are asking for God’s hand of grace to be upon us-remember me.

Two days ago I fell flat on my back when a chair slid away from me. I hit hard and as I fell to floor my back hit one on those commercial style floor heat registers that stick out about a foot or more-diagonally.

Two days later my left leg is weaker than before and my right one isn’t fairing much better, so my mobility is once again to the point I am in the power chair.

I really don’t have time to mess with doctors because I am working the polls on Tuesday as a greeter, which is sort of an eye on the cheaters as well as helping the lost and confused.

Pray the back pain and leg movement will improve.

    ‘Thanks

From yesterdays’ Chicago Tribune, via the Wall Street Journal’s Best of the Web:
    Spam to the Editors
Yesterday’s Chicago Tribune carries this “letter” from one A. Hart of Forest Park (last item):

On my way to lunch recently, I passed a homeless guy with a sign that read “Vote Obama; I need the money.” I laughed. In a restaurant my server had on an “Obama 08″ tie. Again I laughed. Just imagine the coincidence. When the bill came, I decided not to tip the server and explained to him that I was exploring the Barack-Obama-redistribution-of-wealth concept. He stood there in disbelief while I told him that I was going to redistribute his tip to someone who I deemed more in need—the homeless guy outside. The server angrily stormed from my sight. I went outside, gave the homeless guy $10 and told him to thank the server inside as I’ve decided he could use the money more. The homeless guy was grateful. At the end of my rather unscientific redistribution experiment, I realized the homeless guy was grateful for the money he did not earn, but the waiter was pretty angry that I gave away the money he did earn even though the actual recipient deserved money more. I guess redistribution of wealth is an easier thing to swallow in concept than in practical application.

Obama is now kicking press people off his campaign plane that do not support him in favor of reporters from Essence, Jet, and BET.

Just a preview of the Obama government controlled media to come!

GOD help the morons who are for him and will regret it, “when he comes for them”!

Yep, only four more days before us godless, moronic, evil trolls high on blue pills can hopefully welcome in the muslim, communist, socialist, stalinist, terrorist, as the President elect of the United States of America. With the help of the almighty, our day shall come. Hopefully “the one” can save us from the wonderful bright shining light that has illuminated the White House for the last eight years. May the nasty liberal congress continue to work against the will of the people and stop the “W” from continuing his deregulation program. Oh, what a day it will be when I can just sit at home watching Opra and reading my Jet magazine while collecting proceeds of RAM’s hard work.

    All hail “the one”

  • 53 everthink // Oct 31, 2008 at 4:02 pm

    RAM,

By Wednesday morning, NOTHING said here will ever matter again. Between now and then, I’ll be knocking on my formerly “Red State” (trending blue) doors, but I do enjoy stopping by to read your “death rattles”.

America has had its fill of your small minded, phony issue, demon hunting politics.

Oh wait, is ET threatening to leave Scrappleface and never come back, yet again?!

  • 55 everthink // Oct 31, 2008 at 6:54 pm

I didn’t say that! I’ll just be in my grief counselor role after Tuesday. Some here will need de-programming, maybe I can help some of you. Shall I put you down for 10:00am Wednesday Lurch?

As for me, if Obonehead wins, I have it all figgured out. I will claim to have finally “seen the light”, quit my job and let all of the suckers take care of me.

  • 57 MajorDomo // Oct 31, 2008 at 9:46 pm

ET must be a front-runner for the OMarx cabinet. Otherwise, he ain’t seen nothing like the grief he’s gonna have after four years of OMarx. Wait! Maybe he’s one of those TO whom my money is redistributed.

  • 58 RepublicanAttackMachine // Oct 31, 2008 at 10:30 pm

I didn’t think our resident, troll liar, would produce his “supposed post” from 6 years ago, because it NEVER existed.

“ALL liars shall have their place in the lake of fire!”

Hey Scrapplers, what did I tell you about the trolls showing up at the same time.

    So transparent!

After Obama gets elected and makes gay marriage the law of the land, make sure and invite us to the nuptuals E.T. and bl31u. ;-)

  • 59 RepublicanAttackMachine // Oct 31, 2008 at 10:36 pm

To prove how stupid O’Bama-ites are, if “Number 2″ doesn’t care enough for his Kenya brother who makes something like a dollar a week, or his granny, or his sister, and cannot, (or will not), help them out, how do you morons believe he is going to care about or help you out?

Wait, don’t answer, it would take WISDOM to even know what I am talking about, and I have seen none of that GOD given trait from ANY of you! :-)

  • 60 RepublicanAttackMachine // Oct 31, 2008 at 11:53 pm

bl31u: I hope everyone sees you responded to my “calling you out” on your “supposed post” at 6:01 pm yesterday. You posted some inane babble to me here at 3:31 pm today, with no mention of the “supposed link”. Then wait until sometime around 11:00 to post on the next thread about it hoping people will/would not come back here and see who won the arguement. Guess you needed some extra time to figure a new,—-non-truth? :-)

Wow, you probably think you are O’Bama’s equal at spin, don’t you?

When I see you blackliar, I just see someone who has no morals, dignity, integrity, or knows the value of a man’s WORD!

In other words, YOU are a typical liberal!

Read my post at #59, and PLEASE tell me why O’Bama is going to treat you and your lib buddies any better than he does his brother, sister, and granny?

Please don’t wait another two days or on another thread where no one knows what you are talking about, (like they EVER do)!

Liberals (a/k/a The absence of God) are very special people, clearly defined by Tommy Reed.

There are still nice, kind, gentle, intelligent people who seem to be in need of a 12 step program to help rid themselves of their addiction to trolls.

An addiction far more serious and potentially deadlier than a simple addiction to alcohol or illegal drugs.

No one can throw globs of slime, bleeding guts and snot at trolls without getting slime, bleeding guts and snot on themselves in the process.

Wouldn’t it be nice to be clean again? Without riposte the slimes would creep back into their hidey holes and cease posting their creepy crawly maggot infested feces (a/k/a - excrement) where decent, honorable, worthy real men and women might step in it.

These males (a/k/a wanabee men) can then get together and cast their votes for their male (a/k/a wanabee man) who is heading up the Democrat ticket, and when he loses on Nov. 4th they can have a grand group hug while trying to swim out of their pool of tears.

If the truth could be told…….

Americans, don’t be afraid of my terrorist friends, they only want to make slaves out of you to work on their plantation.

By the way, Shar’ia law is good for you, you’ll like it, just as soon as I can get it voted into replacing that wicked, evil, racist old Constitution of yours that I mean to delete.

Once I’ve done that, I intend to redesign the White House to duplicate my brother’s home in Kenya and at the same time redesign my home to duplicate the White House. Thank you for your vote, making all my plans into reality.

    14. Your Illinois State Senate records-’not available’

You couldn’t get a job at McDonalds and become district manager after 143 days of experience.

You couldn’t become chief of surgery after 143 days of experience of being a surgeon.

You couldn’t get a job as a teacher and be the superintendent after 143 days of experience.

You couldn’t join the military and become a colonel after 143 days of experience.

You couldn’t get a job as a reporter and become the nightly news anchor after 143 days of experience.

    BUT….

‘From the time Barack Obama was sworn in as a United State Senator, to the time he announced he was forming a Presidential exploratory committee, he logged 143 days of experience in the Senate. That’s how many days the Senate was actually in session and working. After
143 days of work experience, Obama believed he was ready to be Commander In Chief, Leader of the Free World …. 143 days.

We all have to start somewhere. The senate is a good start, but after 143 days, that’s all it is - a start.

AND, strangely, a large sector of the American public is okay with this and campaigning for him. We wouldn’t accept this in our own line of work, yet some are okay with this for the President of the United States of America ? Come on folks, we are not voting for the next American Idol!

Sheesh, I don’t know Fred, are you sure Palin can see Russia from Wasilla ?

If Mac has the big one I am not sure she will be able to see even Alexandria from the Oval Office.

With the news out over the weekend that Boo Hoo Obama is determined to destroy the coal industry and present us with skyrocketing electric bills. I checked out yesterday’s Gillette Noose-Wrecker to see if they thought it needed to be included in our local news. We are a coal based economy here, so you would assume it would be considered news that we should know before voting today. It didn’t make it, I guess they didn’t think it important for us to know…
