Bush: Citizens Rejoice In Peaceful, Bloodless Transition

by Scott Ott for ScrappleFace · 20 Comments

(2008-10-13) — President George Bush, during his latest daily confidence-building statement, this morning said Americans “rejoice that we have, this week, continued a 232-year tradition of peaceful, bloodless transitions of government.”

The president noted that the U.S. economy has been “transformed from an unreliable free-market model, to one in which global investors can trust, because government has taken ownership of the foundations of the economy — banks, debt merchants, insurance underwriters — thereby tapping the full faith and credit of U.S. taxpayers who can be compelled by law or force, if necessary, to cover any potential losses.”

By buying into, and bailing out, these businesses, Mr. Bush said, “The U.S. government has fundamentally changed from a Constitutional Republic with a shaky capitalist economy, to a more stable, centrally-planned construct I like to call a ’smart-ocracy’, where the people who know best will direct our nation’s course to the benefit of all.”

Addressing concerns that the recent moves by the U.S. Treasury and the Federal Reserve have been anti-democratic, the president said, “To the contrary.”

“When the people go to the polls in November to elect the next president and Congress,” Mr. Bush said, “the average citizen will have even more power than before, since he will be electing not just representatives to pass laws. He’ll be electing the chairmen and chief operating officers of the entire global economy. It’s a tribute to the wisdom of the Founders that this timely and magnificent transformation happened without a shot being fired.”

I’d give $3500 to see what you folks would call this if Obama had been elected and then enacted this idiotic idea!

    Oh wait, I DID pay $3500…so far…

“Addressing concerns that the recent moves by the U.S. Treasury and the Federal Reserve have been anti-democratic, the president said, ‘To the contrary.’”

He might as well have uttered that famous word in “Alice in Wonderland”: “Contrariwise!”

    Another great job, Mr. Ott!

    Correction:
Scratch: “He might as well have uttered…”
    Insert: “Reminds me of…”

Sorry, realized I mis-typed after I hit “submit.”

Bloodless, heartless, soulless; it’s not as though we weren’t warned.

I’m voting for Sarah and Whazzhis name that’s running with her on Nov. 4th.

I’m a pie-in-the-sky optimist believing that good must ultimately prevail over the absence of God in the universe.

I’m no soothsayer, prophet or seer but I will not be surprised when control of Congress reverts to Republicans and with the McCain/Palin win - things will be looking up for sure!

    Bober Re#1: “Oh wait, I DID pay $3500…so far…

  • 8 boberinyetagain // Oct 13, 2008 at 12:11 pm

bail out “contributions” except I wasn’t really asked if I wanted to contribute. Every American kicked in $3500, aren’t we swell?

Once again we find the American MSM asleep at the switch. Worse, they intentionally derail the train while plotting ways to blame the passengers. It amazes me in how much damage can be done when people are spoon fed lies and kept from truth.

If the MSM had honestly investigated and reported the facts behind Fanny, Freddie, etc. Years ago, we would not be seeing drastic measures attempted now. But, as usual, the dems in congress speak, calling Freddie and Fanny sound, the only place it is even brought up is CSPAN, the Republicans are rebuffed, and the train barrels on into the night. The MSM was asleep at the switch.

Now the train wreck. Barney Frank and Chris Dodd driving full speed off the cliff, Nancy Pelosi on the side line in a cheerleader costume yelling for more speed. Big resounding CRASH is heard around the world. Now the MSM rather than look at CSPAN footage or look into the minutes of the hearings charge off in search of their usual suspects while Bogey says goodbye at the airport. Fade to black, roll the credits.

If the MSM found the guts to actually look into the truth about anything, from the fact that abortion is actually the killing of helpless babies to the liberal redistribution of wealth, to voter fraud by ACORN, to Obama’s actual history our nation would actually be a better place to live.

If Obama does get elected with a dem majority in the house and senate we will get the utopia they want. At least we will get what we deserve in that a majority of our nation embraced evil rather than opposing it. But the media will never take responsibility for that mess. We can count on them to ignore every disgrace and champion every debauchery.

“…It’s a tribute to the wisdom of the Founders that this timely and magnificent transformation happened without a shot being fired.”

    Minus a few foreclosure-induced suicides.

I’m spitting that with humorless venom.
