(2008-09-10) — Presidential candidate Barack Obama has come to the aid of his Democrat colleague, Rep. Charles Rangel, D-NY, by proposing a bill that would fund Spanish language training for members of Congress, and thus ensure they wouldn’t wind up owing thousands of dollars in back taxes on condo investments in the Dominican Republic.
Rep. Rangel, at a news conference today, said, “cultural and language barriers” prevented him from understanding a deal he made on a Dominican beachfront house, leading to his failure to report to the IRS some $75,000 in rental income.
Sen. Obama, who has previously decried the lack of Spanish-language training for American school children, today said, “We need to atone for the sins of our fathers, and grandfathers, who left poor Charlie Rangel hopeless in the presence of sneaky Spanish-speaking resort owners.”
A member of Congress since Sen. Obama was 10 years old, Rep. Rangel said he hoped to pay off his tax bill from profits he’ll earn by subletting rent-controlled properties at fair market prices which he currently leases at below-market rates from a New York City developer.

Trolls disappoint me. In my opinion or narrative the word troll and liberal are synonymous. Listening to them implode, again, election after election, really reduces the status of the challenge. If an athlete only has to work at half pace to win that’s all they will do. If, using Michael Phelps as an example, you half to break world records to win, you work that hard or you lose.
Since trolls are such dolts they bring down the whole race. If this race were a sport it would be like comparing T-ball players to Major League Baseball. First we have Al Gore choking out the hope of the democrat party by his goofy lawsuit attempt to steal the election in 2000. Then we have Kerry blow it when the Swiftboaters outed him in 2004. Now Obama is imploding and spends his days defending his attacks on Governor Sarah Palin. He seems lost in that she is the candidate for VICE-PRESIDENT.
If Obama had a brain he would focus on McCain and ignore Governor Palin. But all the Obama’s people, and all the Obama’s men can’t seem to get back out in front with the media and have lost the spotlight. McCain is now dictating the direction of the contest and Obama has to respond. That is how he is going to lose.
If the trolls could come up with a real candidate then we would have to work a lot harder. There for we would be stronger.

And, yes, this is the same Rep. Charles Rangel who CHAIRS the powerful House Ways and Means Committee, which writes the federal tax code. But, he’s not stepping down or resigning…oh, no! Buffoons like him NEVER go away, until they’re dead. Then the rest of the “proud democrats” throw “Wellstone Memorial-type” celebrations of their lives.

I like that Sarah Palin positions herself as the Big Dog in this contest. If she is the Big Dog then Obama’s handlers and MSM talking heads must be the chihuahuas.
Big dogs are usually the calmest and friendliest and are the most effective guardians among canines. Chihuahuas are yappy little complainers that shiver and shake at any percieved slight or threat. Their bark is far worse than their bite even when in large numbers. A sideways glance from the big dog is usually enough to send them scurrying away with their tails between their legs.
Sarah definitely runs with the big dogs.

Republicans are held to a higher standard because they tend to meet it.

I heard Hannity playing clips of a fewe loser libs all repeating the talking points on community organizers and governors. Those talking points are as idiotic as they are, and really irritate me. Jesus Christ came to earth as a mortal man only to live a life that we cannot live, and to die a sacrificial death on the cross that I might live righteously by living in and through him. He came to redeem man from the tentacles of sin. He did not do any community organizing. He healed the sick, and cleansed people from their sins. He had no bed to lie down on at night, no pillow for his head, and he encouraged many to give up their possessions and follow him.
Libs try to score political points via false application of Christ’s purpose and history concerning his life. Now that is disgraceful. There isn’t a true disciple of Christ praising those vile liberals, or placing Obamanable signs on their front lawn.

Rangel’s main claim to fame is his desire for a return to the Draft,for the young men and women of America. If Obombum gets in the Draft will quickly follow. it will be called something else,but EVERY young person will “serve”.It is quite apparent the purple lipped one will soon have the US involved in many dangerous situations. The minute our enemies sense his weakness and inability to make decisions ,they will come after us. Why Rangel wants this I have no idea,unless it is because he is to busy with his “other” businesses.

Okay, it is time to step up to the bat and let my Scrappleface family shower me with prayers. I may have cancer.
I have known for about a month that something was wrong but it wasn’t until yesterday that they did a biopsy of my upper jaw bone. It will take about 10 days before the sample comes back from the lab but the oral surgeon says there is a chance that is melanoma, be it a small chance.
Is he trying to make me feel good by saying small? I have no idea. I didn’t ask for prayer sooner because another friend of ours on Scrappleface was dealing with issues so I didn’t want to overwhelm the prayer machine.
Since I no longer have a home church due to an argument some person decided to start with me over a year ago, I feel there is nobody else to turn to (except Christ).
I am already overwhelmed with issues I have no control over so this is starting to shake me up rather badly. My pet cat is dying and there is nothing I can do but watch him suffer. This has become a 24/7 job caring for him and my body is growing weary. The pain and stress is so deep that it is wearing my MS down. I am getting a lot of chest pains but can’t go to the hospital because of him.
Pray as you will. I have little strength to carry this burden much longer, so any way you think God will respond-go for it.

Off track, but I just had to pass this on. Lincoln Chafee, (I know, who is he?) former, allegedly Republican senator from Rhode Island, has come out against the Sarah Palin pick. I guess that makes it official, it was/is McCains finest moment.
BTW, he’s also the co-chair for “Republicans for Obama”. That really says it all. Thank God that buffoon is no longer in the Senate.
I hope that among the change McCain/Palin are promising is to no longer offer official party support to RINO’s running for re-election and instead to support those who are conservative. Let the liberals/socialists go to their real home, the Democratic party.

Ms RightWing, Ink: First, be assured of our (mine and my wife’s) prayers. We’ve both lost parents to cancer, but we both also have friends who, by God’s grace, have survived and even thrived after serious bouts with it. Second, please either find a way to reconcile with your former church or join a new one; it will restore and build your faith, and there is no more comforting support group than the Family of God, even if there are a few clinkers in the bunch. You need people who can drop by to share tea and a prayer, who can just be there when you can’t be by yourself. Who can hold your hand.

Ways and Means - hmmm - seems like an appropriate committee for a guy who’s looking how to scam the system.

A discussion takes two participants. McCain has offered plenty of specifics, while Obama has refused to go beyond the nebulous and meaningless mantra of “change” without specifying from what or to what. McCain - Palin gives us facts and positions, Obama - Biden gives us insults and weak jokes.

Today, thanks to our RINO’s in Congress, we have Liberals vs Conservatives. Libbers promote Bigger and bigger government and higher and higher taxes to fund their “nanny state” government. Their “ANYTHING GOES” approach to social issues clashes head on with the Conservatives program of smaller government, lower taxes and the right to succeed via individual merit and responsibility.
In the late 70’s Great Britain was in the sewer financially. then along came “The Iron Lady”. Prime Minister of the United Kingdom from 1979 to 1990 and Leader of the Conservative Party from 1975 to 1990. Margaret Thatcher is the first and only woman to date to hold either post. she understood conservatism. Using a veritable boning knife, she deleted dozens of “entitlement” programs, slashed taxes to the bone and pulled Britain back out of it’s socialist toilet.
Revenues doubled (almost tripled) and Britain once again took it’s place in the world.
In 1980 Ronald Reagan became President of the USA. an economy that Carter had driven deeper into the cesspool than Great Britain had known. Noting Thatcher’s stunning reversal in England, Reagan took up the boning knife and slashed taxes to the bone. (the lower the taxes - the greater the revenue. - a financial reality that Liberals will never understand).
Bigger government and higher taxes!! Barack Hussein Obama will return America - not to the Carter debacle but so much worse that Carter will look like a hero by comparison. Carter will lose his place atop the list of America’s worst Ever Presidents.
Cuba and Venezuela will appear as Eden’s where Americans can flock to for political asylum. life in America as we have known it will cease to exist.
Americans flocking to Russia for citizenship sounds like a bad dream, but an Obama presidency could make that a viable option.
I thank God for His providing Sarah Palin as the bulwark between us an total destruction.

His chosen mentor: the Governor of the “One State Recession” state, the person who led the greatest exodus of businesses and jobs in US history and dragged her state to the very bottom of the US economy, Michigan’s Jenny Granholm.
