Drats! I’m at work and my browser won’t let me watch the video. It says I need a special plug-in. Even if I had administrative rights (which I don’t), I wouldn’t have time to install it anyway as it is now 3:58 PM. Drats! And double-drats!

(What does that word mean anyway?)

wv = $102,682 device — sounds pretty expensive to me.

Well, it’s a good thing CNN was 5 minutes late with the panel discussion. I actually downloaded and installed the plug-in in time to catch the performance (will wonders never cease?).

You did a great job Scott! I think you were the most sensible one of the group, but then, I get most of my news from a satire site so… well, what do I know?

Watched it! Scott and I both live our lives T.V.-Free. Excellent.

I’m thinking that Sarah Palin’s name should be added to the known vocabulary of positive exclamations.

    Awesome! Excellent! Cool! Wonderful!

    Dude, that was so Palin!!!

I think it has a certain ring.

Excellent job on the interview, Scott! And if you’re really concerned about your hairline, maybe Joe Biden can advise you. (Seriously, Scott, you looked and sounded great.)

Well, by the time I downloaded the plug in, the show was over.

I went to the video tab but nothing there either

I liked your point about not getting your news from the former media gatekeepers, Scott. Also, the fact the fact-checking has become more critical in the age of the Internet is important.

I haven’t watched television in years. I would rather access reliable blog or news sources and follow through on their links. Not all of my news comes from “conservative” sites since it is important to learn what opposing viewpoints are. That is the essence of developing critical thinking. Also, finding how other nations present world happenings or those of our own nation is an eye-opener.

What news a journalist pursues, what questions are followed up, and how credible are the sources are all important factors.

What news is buried or what news is exaggerated in importance has been the biggest beef of conservatives and/or Republicans.

Television has turned away from hard news and become a cheap form of entertainment. Talking heads and news readers have come to view their roles as ones of celebrity when they haven’t demonstrated having done much research or heft of intelligence. They have dumbed down American audiences.

Good job, Scott. You made your points handily and with your typical wit.

Oh, I used my computer to access your roundtable on CNN. (Otherwise, I would avoid that network.)
I used the computer to access the convention via C-Span, too. The event was unfiltered by bozos like Matthews, Olberman, and the rest of the Obama fawners, who haven’t a clue about professional objectivity.

Scott, I also liked your pointing out that people don’t think of themselves as categories. The tendencies of pollsters and the media that derive their narratives from these arbitrary poll slots drive me up a wall.

Last evening I received a robo-call push poll about a Pennsylvania politician running for office. The set up for the questions presumed that their “facts” were accurate. They weren’t.

The CNN.com interview with Scott Ott should be archived and available online late tonight. When that happens, we will link to it. In the meantime, we have just posted a CNN iReport Mr. Ott filed just after his panel discussion.
