Obama: DNC Tent Big Enough for Pro-Hillary Voters

by Scott Ott for ScrappleFace · 178 Comments

(2008-08-25) — As unified Democrats unite together under one roof in Denver this week, Sen. Barack Obama reminded his united party that “our Democrat tent is big enough for all kinds of people — big enough for those who are pro-choice and pro-life, big enough for those who are pro-Obama and pro-Hillary.”

“Democrats are all about diversity,” the presidential hopeful declared during a tour of a Christian crisis pregnancy center, following brunch at a Planned Parenthood abortion clinic. “One of our core values is that you don’t have to give up who you are in order to join the Democrat party. Our policy is B.Y.O.A. — Bring Your Own Agenda. And if your agenda is that you want Hillary Clinton to be the next president of the United States, then who am I to trample on your freedom of speech? We rejoice in the wide diversity of our party.”

Sen. Obama said the convention in Denver will “demonstrate to the nation, and to the world, that true unity is achieved not through ideological agreement, or political reconciliation, but through fanning the flames of a white-hot hatred for the enemies of diversity.”

“In other words,” said Sen. Obama. “We really don’t care what you believe, or who your favorite Democrat candidate might be. All that truly matters is that you fear and loathe Sen. John McCain, who is nothing more than the next incarnation of George W. Bush, a man who has turned this once-great nation into a 3,000-mile-wide Abu Ghraib prison camp.”

Is the Ringling Bros. tent big enough?

    No Boy Scout tents allowed.

Man I would love to be a fly on the wall in the “backroom” at this convention. (very small voice: “help me, help me”) You know that there is going to be a ton of head scratching, and/or back scratching and/or back stabbing going on there. I just love the fact that there is indeed no unity in the demos tent.

Shiver This story kinda gives me the creeps, Scott. It is too close to reality. Unity through hate. That is the Democrat party today. Hate America. Hate conservatives. Hate Bush. Hate McCain. Hate Bible-believing Christians. That really says something about a group of people if the only way to unify is through mutual hate.

Today, the real Obama is exposed here. I have had such a hard time deciding how to handle this election - reminiscent of the days when I tried to choose between, “Do I just let him drink and fall flat on his face or die, or do I hide the booze and face his anger?” Neither was an acceptable choice in my book. But I found out that getting out of the way of his drinking was the only way to allow him to face himself. And so, do I vote for John McCain in an attempt to keep the country from falling flat on its face or dying under Obama, or do I step back and allow the possibility that the country will pick the “elixer” they think will take them away from reality - a choice that will ultimately kill the country? I am stumped, but I do know that God has it all in His hands and will guide my steps on the day I go to the voting booth.

Fred Re#5, if you enjoy that sort of story you might like Turtledove and Greenberg’s anthology The Best Alternate History Stories of the 20th Century (Del Rey 2001). Reading fiction would be good preparation for a possible Obama Presidency.

(I’d be happy to loan you my copy; I don’t live far from you.)

Anyone who really cares about our future will vote for McCain. You might need to hold your nose, you might not want to support much of what comes after he is elected, but there is too much at stake to not vote or vote for the wrong man.

I can see Obam-uuhh doing the “brunch at a Planned Parenthood abortion clinc,” because to him, pregnancy is a “crisis.” But, I can’t see him touring the Christian crisis pregnancy center. What distresses me, we will have a non stop slobber fest for the rest of this week as they assemble together in Denver. I wonder what it will cost the taxpayers to decontaminate that podium when they are through. we will have to hear about it morning noon and night for the next week. I do hope no one slips and falls and the slobber wet floors.

All we hear about anymore seems to be the alter of Obama. Even the war has been put on the back burner as the worshipers of the new cult assemble at his alter. We all thought there was a mess after Al Gore got beat in the 2000 election. I cant wait to see the revolt when Obama is done in by Hillary’s back stabbing and McCain wins by default.

In Times Like These We Need A Saviour. His name is Jesus and no, He’s not running for President of the USofA under a different name and persona.

Prov. 30:4 Who has ascended into heaven and descended?
Who has gathered the wind in His fists?
Who has wrapped the waters in His garment?
Who has established all the ends of the earth?
What is His name or His son’s name?
    Surely you know!

“And Moses said unto God, Behold, when I come unto the children of Israel, and shall say unto them, The God of your fathers hath sent me unto you; and they shall say to me, What is his name? what shall I say unto them?
And God said unto Moses, I AM THAT I AM: and he said, Thus shalt thou say unto the children of Israel, I AM hath sent me unto you.” (Ex. 3:13,14 KJV)

Please note that the words Barack Hussein Obama do not appear anywhere in the Bible (except for the “This Bible belongs to………………” page in his own personal copy.)

When Obamessiah speaks of “change”, I wonder if he wants to change middle-class America’s carbonfootprint to that of his half brother George Obama? After all, Barack hasn’t given his brother George a hand up and maybe he thinks if we all live in a hut like his brother we’d be more planet friendly.

“I’ve had a great relationship with Indian Americans. In Delaware, the largest growth in population is Indian-Americans moving from India. You cannot go to a 7-Eleven or a Dunkin’ Donuts unless you have a slight Indian accent. I’m not joking.” Joseph Biden

It’s no secret Joseph Biden doesn’t believe Obama was truly experienced enough to be President … at least four months ago he didn’t. But given how Obama was never a mayor or a governor or even managed a small or large business, I wonder if Biden thinks Obama is experienced enough to manage a 7-Eleven or even run a Slurpee machine? The store would probably be out of business within the year.

On Monday night just after Michelle Obama finished speaking, CNN’s Jeffrey Toobin, inserted a barb against the Republicans: “There is one big missing piece tonight I think, which is why the American people should throw the bums out. We haven’t heard one word about that. We have the most unpopular President in American history, and he’s barely been mentioned tonight.

He failed to mention that Bush’s popularity rating of 28 dwarfs the Democrat controlled Congress popularity rating of 9 so when Toobin talks his trash of “…throw the bums out.” he conveniently omitted the “…throw the bums out.” corollary, referencing the ‘do nothing’ Democrat Congress.

Nancy … I think thou dost protest too much as well. How comical is it that you are railing on GWB for his 28% approval rating while you have a 14% personal approval rating. Talk about the pot calling the kettle black. You are the most unpopular Speaker of the House in American history, so why not shut your pie hole and go hide in the bushes while President Bush continues to keep America safe (his #1 priority). as you continue to block drilling for oil while your 50 - 100 K investment grows only so long as gas prices remain high. Her vested interest in maintaining high gas prices is or should be illegal. Talk about conflict of interest!!!

P.S. The “natural gas” you tout is a corollary of drilling for oil. Two heartbeats from the Presidency yourself and you think “natural gas” grows on trees or may be mixed in with the sweet potatoes?

Bober Re#65, don’t even start down that road. The Pelosis own a lot of properties, from vineyards and restaurants to hotels, office buildings and resorts. A few years ago they reported estimated assets somewhere between $25 million and $102 million — hey, ten million here, ten million there …

I don’t begrudge the Pelosis whatever wealth they might have accumulated honestly; that’s one of the things that makes America great. What bothers me is Madam Spooker’s casual “let them eat cake” attitude about our money.

Mockers Mocking Mockers Mocking Mockers Mocking

    Just mocking

    Everything

Be aware that the Mocking Mocker’s default passive/aggressive mockery mode is Stealth-Mode and has already kicked-in if they have never overtly Mockingly Mocked a mockingly mockable mockee.

These Mocking Mockers want a mock Constitution, they want a mock USA, they want a mock Almighty God and, far more despicably, they want to mock Almighty God and the rest.

Kennedy didn’t just pass off the Future to the Democrats last night, he passed it off to us all; the citizens of The United States of America. If that was a “to arms!” for the Democrats, it should be even more so for the rest of us. I say it’s time to draw a line in the sand and push the Mocking Mockers back into their cess-pools! The last 40-45 years of mockery (those are the most familiar to me, those I’ve lived in and/or parallel to-I must shamefully admit my literally shameless complicity with the dark side in the early days) could easily become moot with just a few votes (across the board).

The brownshirts of the Obam-uuhh campaign are threatening Sinclair Broadcasting and it’s stations because they are airing a 527 ad linking to and questioning Obama’s ties to terrorist Bill Ayers. Obama bin Biden’s campaign is also trying to get the DOJ involved in intimidating Sinclair for running these ads. I cannot stress how outrageous the Obama campaign’s attempt to silence the creators of the Ayers ad is. Mr. Hope and Change is applying Chicago-style mafia tactics to intimidate those who want to alert the nation to Obama’s troubling ties to, and longtime relationship with, the unrepentant Weather Underground terrorist. Obama’s lawyers and minions are playing hardball with TV stations that have dared to air the ad.

This is hilarious. The man who only won his own state of Minnesota in his presidential bid is giving Biden advice.

DENVER — When Sen. Joe Biden addresses the Democratic National Convention Wednesday night as his party’s candidate for vice president, he will have the benefit of advice from the man who transformed that office to the powerful force that is has become.

Former Vice President Walter Mondale expected to meet with Biden ahead of his speech to discuss a running mate’s role in the campaign and, should the Democrats win, the second-highest office in the country.

Mondale sees Biden’s task in the campaign as similar to his for Jimmy Carter in 1976. Carter was a southerner who was not well known or trusted by northern blue-collar Democratic voters.

From the St. Paul Pioneer Press

  • 94 Ms RightWing, Ink // Aug 26, 2008 at 9:52 pm

Then the Denver Post reported this tonight:

U.S. Rep. Dennis Kucinich of Ohio brought the Democratic National Convention crowd to its feet today as he accused the Bush administration of losing track of the economy while focusing on the war in Iraq.

“Wake up America. The insurance companies took over health care,” he said. “Wake up America. We went into Iraq for oil!”

Kucinich blamed the war in Iraq for “millions of Americans” losing their homes and jobs.

“Up with peace! Up with prosperity! Up with the Democratic Party! Up with Obama!,” he shouted, pumping his arms. “Wake up America!”

His speech was the liveliest of the evening so far, causing delegates to jump out of their seats, wave their arms in the air and shout for the first time tonight.

Irony: a state of affairs or an event that seems deliberately contrary to what one expects and is often amusing as a result.

This is part of why Rush hoped for Biden as B.O.’s vp choice. The #1 Most liberal senator picks the #3 most liberal senator and possibly the only senator with a bigger ego than his own.

Personally, I was hoping that he would pick Pelosi as his running mate, seeing as how she’s only two heartbeats from the presidency now. (That would surely have made HillBilly, Inc. blood boil.)

God has His own way of dealing with wanna-bees. The most well known being the Arch/arch angel Lucifer who was a presumptive usurper.

And then there was “And upon a set day Herod, arrayed in royal apparel, sat upon his throne, and made an oration unto them. And the people gave a shout, saying, It is the voice of a god, and not of a man. And immediately the angel of the Lord smote him, because he gave not God the glory: and he was eaten of worms, and gave up the ghost.” (Acts 12:22-23 KJV)

Now we have a man that even the MSM refers to as the messiah and he makes no effort to disavow such adulation. This guy’s such an “empty suit” he wouldn’t, with his resume, qualify for any of several jobs I’ve had. Let alone the #1 job in the country.

If you or I was doing it I don’t believe we would react or act in a manner that only serves to fuel the fires, therefore it is illogical to me. I assume the planning for this candidacy goes back at least three years, the only thing that makes sense to me is that there is something else out there that is far more damning than this stuff. I really am surprised that the gals over at NAGS (National Association of GalS) aren’t more outraged that one of their own (sHrillary) was overlooked by an establishment (Democrat Party) because another male with a pretty face and charisma is promoted over a woman. And to add insult to injury, the man in question isn’t even qualified to be an owner of a 7-Eleven or Dairy Queen™. Which demonstrates that in the final analysis, liberal Donks have no principles or self-respect, they’re only about tearing other people down to their own level … the gutter.

“I am not running for vice president. I would not accept it if anyone offered it to me. The fact of the matter is I’d rather stay as chairman of the Foreign Relations Committee than be vice president.” Joe (I have hairplugs) Biden

Now that Biden has whored himself to The One, he now lacks the courage and integrity to stand by these unique and devastating statements that he previously made.

Why is it Donks always do the opposite of what they say? I mean, Barry said he wasn’t running for President and here he actually admits he isn’t experienced enough to be president! But then the lemmings who now have their messiah simply don’t want to be troubled by inconvenient historical facts. I guess in their Bizarro World 143 days as a U.S. Senator is more than enough time to make a Democrat the President. cat, it’s like I’ve been saying all along, the Democrats actually believe they and their sycophants in the liberal media are veritable Oracles of Delphi … hence, the Greek temple motiff at the Donkey Convention. It’s interesting that these moral relativists who have long castigated conservatives and conservative Christians for believing in anything approaching absolute truth now hold their own opinions about everything under the Sun as absolute truth. These are the same twits who engage in all kind of nuance in hopes of “understanding” terrorists and radical Islamists and yet refuse to extend the same courtesy to those American men and women who have tried their imperfect best to keep this country safe from the aforementioned thugs above. Hence, my reference to Donk moonbats living in their Bizarro World of lies and spin.

Who really lied about Iraq? … A retrospective of truth.

What’s telling about the analysis in the link I gave above is the lengths one has to go to in order to run every liberal lie to the ground. Like the old adage notes: “A lie can reach around the world before the truth gets out of bed.” The Bush-hating Obama worshippers perfectly illustrate this point.

My primary reason for wishing to change my status from U.S. Citizen to illegal alien stems from the bill which was recently passed by the Senate and for which you voted. If my understanding of this bill’s provisions is accurate, as an illegal alien who has been in the United States for five years, all I need to do to become a citizen is to pay a $2,000 fine and income taxes for three of the last five years. I know a good deal when I see one and I am anxious to get the process started before everyone figures it out.

Simply put, those of us who have been here legally have had to pay taxes every year so I’m excited about the prospect of avoiding two years of taxes in return for paying a $2,000 fine. Is there any way that I can apply to be illegal retroactively? This would yield an excellent result for me and my family because we paid heavy taxes in 2004 and 2005. Additionally, as an illegal alien I could begin using the local emergency room as my primary health care provider. Once I have stopped paying premiums for medical insurance, my accountant figures I could save almost $10,000 a year.
Another benefit in gaining illegal status would be that my daughter would receive preferential treatment relative to her law school applications, as well as ‘in-state’ tuition rates for many colleges throughout the United States for my son.

Lastly, I understand that illegal status would relieve me of the burden of renewing my driver’s license and making those burdensome car insurance premiums. This is very important to me given that I still have college age children driving my car.
If you would provide me with an outline of the process to become illegal (retroactively if possible) and copies of the necessary forms, I would be most appreciative. Thank you for your assistance.

Fred Re#135: Agreed, but McCain’s trying to distance himself from the current administration (another unfortunate bow to the left) and Condi’s very much a part of that. Besides, by leftist standards she’s neither black, female, young nor articulate — the Deanosaurs see her as the rest of the world sees Joe Biden (who, by the way, was a Senator before Li’l Barry was a teenager).

Darth, shouldn’t there be something on that schedule involving John Edwards teaching men how to support their cancer-stricken wives? Or Pelosi’s instructions on how to be an “ardent Catholic?”

I’m not too familiar with Greek mythology. Does anyone know which of the Greek gods suppressed free speech through law enforcement? Or “won” elections by bullying all of their oppenents out of the way? Was there one who supported murdering infants, in or out of the womb?

mig, we all have to cut and paste that letter, and share it with likeminded family and friends, to send to our own sell-outs in Congress. That is priceless.

Looks as though McCain is ready to mix it up with Obama bin Biden. It would be good to see a good old-fashioned PC free battle this time. If accused of “going negative” McCain can counter with an entire series of ads telling why he is positive that BO is the wrong person for the job.

Neverthink was quick on the draw yesterday. I am so disappointed in him / her / it. In the past the multinamed one used to rapidly post vapid remarks which, if anyone took the time to read them, required more than two lines. Not that I tend to read them, just glance here and there for length. Poor Scott on the other hand has to check for naughty words etc.

One more night of liberal manure and then we can have our TVs back. I don’t get to watch much TV. With hits like Will and Grace and other fairy tales I don’t think I miss much. Working nights if I watch TV during the day I’m limited to soap operas and Maury Povich doing DNA and Polygraph tests to see who cheated on who and how many times. I think I’m better off just writing my book.

If Maury and the soaps were in competition with the DNC for most unbelievable material then the DNC would win that round hands down.

Kay of Texas might be a good 2nd choice I see she’s on the “short list”.

    Short excerpt from the web:

Vice President Rice? by Nicholas Von Hoffman

February 13, 2008 Democrats who think it’s going to be a cakewalk into the White House next November had best remember one name: Condoleezza Rice.

John McCain is a formidable candidate in his own right, but if he has the political imagination to do it, he can cause the party of Jefferson and Jackson indescribable angst with Rice as his vice-presidential pick.
Besides being the greatest two-for in GOP history, Rice brings other huge pluses to the decorated Vietnam hero. Indeed, she may be enough to elect the venerable hero/naval aviator.
McCain’s troubles with the religious wing of his party could well evaporate with the churchgoing Rice at his side. She solidifies that part of his base overnight.
With Rice on the ticket, the GOP would have somebody to get enthusiastic about. The Secretary of State is immensely popular with Republicans. For a party that up to now has been clueless about how to run against either a woman or a person of color, Condoleezza Rice is pure political gold.
Woe to any Democrat who thinks taking her on in a debate is a sure thing. The woman is tough, fast on her feet and able to give better than she gets. Anyone who has seen her in action testifying in front of a hostile House or Senate committee knows that she will be able to wipe up the floor with a plodding, ordinary pol of a Democratic vice-presidential candidate. Take Rice lightly at your peril.

Mack #145 - I solved my problem! A few months ago I unsuccessfully tried to give away my TV. I canceled the newly acquired cable (Feb. 08 - May 08) and the tv lies screen down in a cardboard box, awaiting it’s trip to the dumpster.

One of the smartest moves of my life. Withdrawal pain lasted about a week. some people quit smoking for their physical health. I put down the tv for my mental health!

Like it or not, anyone who has ever baked a cake from ’scratch’ knows that it doesn’t matter how long or how fast you turn the crank on the side of the sifter it still has to be washed because some of the flour will remain.

No one can run that tv garbage through their brain’s sifter without some of it sticking. Once free of it, you can begin washing the brain of all the gunk by listening to Rush 3 hours every day. You then have a big plus; like the ex-smoker, you get the right to feel so superior to other tv addicts, who continue to feed their addiction.

  • 154 Ms RightWing, Ink // Aug 28, 2008 at 4:26 pm

Fred I do agree with your view, but my TV just doesn’t work right on various channels like ABC, CBS, NBC or CNN. Sadly I have to pay Time Warner mucho grande to have access to their nonsense.

Most of the TV I watch is up on the digital tier where The History Chanel, The Discovery Chanel, The Military Chanel and others exist. But still rarely turn my TV on before ten p.m.

Recently I discovered another channel called iLife TV. It doesn’t have all the whacked out TV evangelists like another well known station.

I haven’t had a lot of time to watch to many of the programs but it looks like it has children’s programing during the day and thought provoking stuff for older folks in the evening. Need to check it out a little more before I put my brand of approval on it.

Like many of my drugs consumed every day, some help, but if taken in large quantity may prove to be harmful. I know many folks have trashed the idiot box, but mine still sits in the drawing room, or was it the study. Gosh my place is so big I can’t remember.

WV: welcomed furniture. I wouldn’t go so far as to say that.

Hi. My name is Red, and I’m a TV-aholic. Most of the time, it’s just news; local news, national/world news, news-based opinion & analysis shows, even things like the call-in segments of Washington Journal on C-Span. And (glutton for punishment) the Sundays shows (This Week, Meet The Press, Fox News Sunday - even Wolf Blitzer on CNN).
Occasionally I watch a movie for variety. Book TV on C-Span2 on the weekends. And also, now & then, I’ll catch something interesting on the History channel, or Discovery …

Of course, there are those annoying occasions when I have to eat.

Al Gore made the obvious comparison of Obama to Lincoln, another legislator and eventual Presidential nominee from the great state of Illinois. There are some obvious similarities — both served in Congress (though Lincoln served a full term); both fought significant Democrat opponents (though Lincoln didn’t do so as a Democrat); both demonstrated great oratorical skills (though Lincoln wrote his own speeches); both were intimately involved in race relations (though Lincoln worked to improve them); and both opposed needless wars (though Lincoln realized there is another kind).

Because of those subtle differences between the two Illini, it is impossible to make such a one-to-one comparison as “Barack Obama = Abraham Lincoln,” but one of the many anagrams of Lincoln’s name would seem appropriate to characterize the “similar but different” nature of the relationship.

The Internet Anagram Server is useful for this exercise, offering numerous anagrams of the name of Abraham Lincoln which seem startlingly accurate in describing his modern erstwhile counterpart, some of which are listed below; please feel free to add your own.

    Barack Obama =

    Banal Moral Inch (political style)
    Anchorman LA Lib (leg tingler)
Halal Manic Born (but that was long ago)
Ball Chain Roman (don’t touch the toga!)
    … and the wonderfully appropriate
    Hairball Conman (cough, cough)

  • 177 Fred Sinclair // Aug 29, 2008 at 8:22 am

de Tocqueville said that “in a democracy, the people get the government they deserve.” “we get the government we deserve” is also attributed to H.L. Mencken, a man who mocked God and organized religion. I believe it was also attributed to Sam Clemens (aka Mark Twain) but without regard for who said it, never before has it been more appropriate.

Robert A. Heinlein pretty well summed it up in his book “Time Enough For Love” when he wrote - “When the people learn that they can vote themselves Cake and Champagne and force you to pay for it; they will.”

If it should happen that we end up with Osama bin Biden, it will be God’s choice for us. Given America’s Sodom (aka San Francisco) and America’s Sodomite population (aka Liberals - aka most all Democrats and RINOS) the only thing we deserve is God’s Justice.

Nowhere in the Bible does it say God has to be fair or show mercy. It does however say that He has to be “just”.

So far God has chosen to give America His mercy but it could be He might choose to mete out Justice upon America, which admittedly is due us hence “the government we deserve”.

    [Sodom |ˈsädəm|
