Giuliani’s RNC Speech Topic: How McCain Can Win

by Scott Ott for ScrappleFace · 24 Comments · · Print This Story Print This Story

(2008-08-14) — Former New York City Mayor Rudy Giuliani will deliver a primetime address at the Republican National Convention (RNC) on September 2, and according to sources close to the former presidential hopeful, his topic will be how John McCain can win the election.

An early draft of the speech, leaked to the news media today, bears the title: “How John McCain Can Beat a Messianic, Heroic, Sure Thing, Pro Choice, Pro Gay Marriage, Pro Gun Control Celebrity Who by All Rights Should Win in a Landslide.”

Mr. Giuliani refused to reveal specifics of the strategy, saying only: “Don’t worry. I know what I’m doing…this time.”

    Afternoon, JL3!

Re #1: At the moment, I would be happy if He would bless Georgia.

Giuliani wouldn’t be able to do much criticizing of Obam-uuuhhh in the areas of Barry’s being pro-gun control, pro-”choice,” nor even pro-gay marriage. Rudy’s very much a social liberal, which is why he didn’t get far in the Republican primaries.

I’m thinking that since Oblahblah can just command Russia to stop their bombing and they do (mistakenly claimed by Obomites), then he should be able to just command everyone to vote for him and it will be done. Oh wait. He already DID that - from his speech to some Ivy Leaguers: “a light will shine through that window, a beam of light will come down upon you, you will experience an epiphany, and you will suddenly realize that you must go to the polls and vote for Barack

Therefore, Giuliani will just be full of hot air. He can’t fight the inevitability of the Save-Yer.

McCain may be playing THE “HONEY CARD”???

A biscuit, fresh baked and still hot from the oven, split in two, a pat of butter and a spoonful of honey. I happen to really like that combo. Enough so that a repeat is usually in order.

However (there’s always a however) if I get too much of a good thing…. as a ten year old kid I went with two Uncles and three Cousins to a honey tree (an old dead tree made into a hive by the honeybees) on the return trip we 4 boys in the back of the pick-up ate chunks of the honeycomb - lots and lots of chunks.

The four of us became so - so very sick that for the next ten years the smell of honey would make me nauseous. Now, sixty years have dimmed that memory and I no longer become nauseated.
Which is to say that if I could become that “put off” about something I loved then how much more so about something I hate. Now I don’t hate liberals. I love them but hate most every thing they say and do.

All too many are liberals and don’t even know how they got that way. Brought up in Socialistic schools, exposed to the rants of the liberal MSM, with a long list of other brainwashing techniques; they just are what they are.

One ex-liberal called in to Rush’s program saying, “I let them do my thinking for me but in a few months of listening to you, I realized that you had taught me to think for myself and once I started thinking for myself, I automatically became a Conservative”.

Now, like with the honey, I’m being overloaded with a gross overexposure to B. Hussein Obama and become angrily disappointed with Senator McCain’s seeming reluctance to “fight back”.

But then I reconsider. McCain wasn’t born yesterday and it certainly wasn’t at night. In almost 5 years as a Viet Cong P.O.W. he developed the ability to fight his enemy and he won! Perhaps the “Sly Old Fox” is even now playing the “honey card” quietly letting the MSM so overload the public with the praise and adulation of their biased coverage that on Nov. 4th there will be enough voters so sick that they will vote for anybody whose last name isn’t Obama! Since by then they will become nauseous at the mention of his name. I pray that I’m right, please God?

    IN GOD WE TRUST

It’s a quiet day here. Watching the clouds roll in and taking it for granted that it will rain. Much as I would prefer a more conservative candidate I see Senator Obama has likely reached the high water mark of his campaign. I see Hillary’s surragotes shafting him at the convention and the Democrat patry divided heading into November.

That will allow Hillary another shot at the Whitehouse in four years instead of having to wait 8 if Obama were to win.

McCain is not my first choice, not even my second, but he is better than Hillary or Obama on national defense. Next election will be interesting assuming we still have a country to defend and free.

I’ll probably miss all the convention coverage…I’ll be in The Berkshires that week, and out hiking on the Appalachian Trail.

  • 9 RedPepper // Aug 14, 2008 at 8:43 pm

Mack #8: IMHO, the question is : will they still love him tomorrow?

There are few things are as torrid as a summer-time romance. But there’s nothing as cold as ashes, after the fire is gone!

Time will tell. See you in November …

I have heard it said There are only two things that would make me vote for McCain: Hillary and Obama.

  • 11 mindknumbed kid // Aug 14, 2008 at 9:03 pm

There once was a time that I could not imagine casting a vote for John McCain. That time was not so long ago, but given the options we currently are being offered, I cannot imagine not voting for him. A dozen or so threads back I listed a few solid reasons that I will vote for McCain. The context of these remarks might lead you to the conclusion that I am really just voting against the liberal alternative, but such is not the case. I plan to vote for McCain for the hope of America, but I dare not place my hope in any man. Neither of the two and a half candidates are worth voting for on the basis of individual righteousness, as none of them have convinced me of their faith in God. The person that attempts to justify voting for the anti-God liberal candidate on the basis that the opponent is an adulterer and therefore no more worthy of support on the basis of our Christian faith, is so desperate to justify himself that he is blinded in respect to biblical standards of what is or is not acceptable in the sight of God. There is a point where God says to himself, I will not tolerate certain behavior in societies, and will act on his disapproval. Unfortunately America is determined to go down a path that in the end will lead to destruction. Neither candidate in this election is likely to reverse the course we are choosing to follow. Nonetheless, the choice is clear to them that love God and desire his continued blessings on our nation. We cannot have them and stay the collision course with God’s judgment. The MSM hates God, and loves liberals! They are anointing a savior to save us, from God. The simple minded God-ignorant crowd is being swept up in the religion of change, unaware of the dangerous under current lurking just beneath the surface. They are devoid of knowledge, understanding, and wisdom that comes only be the complete knowledge that comes from intimacy with Jesus Christ. Some even think they know him, they can tell us all about him because they know about him, but they do not know him. Maintaining our nation is dependent on knowing him, and seeking to do his will, both individually and nationally. America, your survival is dependent on your repentance from your abominable sins and seeking to live a life that pleases him. The ball is in your court…

I’d like to think that people are so fed up with Reed and Pelosi that they would vote enough Democrats out of the House and Senate that those two would lose their positions. Who is pushing for more Republican seats in both houses?

  • 14 MajorDomo // Aug 14, 2008 at 11:33 pm

I’d like to think that people are so fed up with Pelosi and Reed that they’d vote Democrats out of the House and Senate in order to toss those two out of their leadership positions. Who is beating this drum?

  • 15 MajorDomo // Aug 14, 2008 at 11:35 pm

    How did I do that?

camojack #8: The Berkshires, you say? The Appalachian Trail?

Just wondering. Did you happen to hear about this story?

Well, of course, eastern Tennessee is not the Berkshires. Still, let me take this opportunity to suggest … don’t be taking any side excursions to Camp Granada.

    Hello muddah hello faddah
Here I am at Camp Granada
    Camp is very entertaining
And they say we’ll have some fun if it stops raining

Take me home , oh muddah, faddah,
Take me home, I hate Granada
Don’t leave me out in the forest where
I might get eaten by a bear

    Besides that, enjoy yourself!

Gosh. Those hi-res, close-up, stop-action images of BO swimming around are astounding.
Rumor has it that he has to secure the ears to the side of the head in order to maximize the hydrodynamic viability of the skull.
BO was [allegedly] seen in final rehearsals of his latest, cutting-edge tap-dance routine which is set to The Rolling Stone’s 1972 cover of Slim Harpo’s Shake Your Hips (1966).

  • 19 JamesonLewis3rd // Aug 15, 2008 at 7:23 am

Yes. The Democrat party poses a far greater threat (on a level of magnitude beyond human comprehension) to the survival of civilization now, today, in that they wish to build on the cowardly foundation of the Carter.

  • 20 gafisher // Aug 15, 2008 at 10:33 am

Hillary’s DNC speech might follow a similar outline to Scott’s Giuliani intel. Her note to campaign supporters yesterday included the intriguing line “When I join Democrats from across the country who are unified and ready to get to work to elect Barack Obama, I want you there.”

Note — the Clintons are very careful about words, and the words “who are” make a subtle but very clear difference in the meaning of that sentence.

This looks more like floundering to me.

Yes, I heard about it t’other day…right after it happened. I hear about everything that happens on and/or near the Appalachian Trail…

Not to worry Red Pepper, in his attire no one will even see him. Unless, of course he wants them to!
